Best

Great food and fast delivery

Worst

the food tasted fine, but the delivery was almost a half hour late and thus, the food was barely warm. I won't be ordering from here again.

Try the lunch buffet 7/3/2006

I love Bukhara. It is a great addition to the Jamaica Plain restaurant scene (if you want to call it a scene). Their food is on par with the better-known Indian restaurants downtown and in Cambridge, but this strikes me as more of a neighborhood place. Their lunch buffet (I can't remember the current price) is a good value that allows you to try different types of Indian cuisine. At night, the restaurant gets busier, so be prepared. more

hit or miss 5/24/2006

"This restaurant is hit or miss for me. First off, the setting is pretty cool. I like the copper-looking table tops, authentic decor and candlelight. As for the food, I've had some fantastic meals here in the past... I particularly like the naan bread and the paneer pakora (mmm, cheese). However, half the time my tandoori chicken is extremely overcooked. I'm talking like you need-a-glass-of-water-to-swallow-it-down sort of dry. If it's soaked in some vindaloo, well then you're all set!" more

Good, Relaxing Indian Restaurant 5/14/2006

Bukhara looks sort of schmancy, and it's a little more expensive than its siblings on the other side of the river. However, it's a relaxing place to eat and the food is always good. There are plenty of vegetarian options as well as some things you don't often see, like chaats. The daily buffet is around $8, a little more on weekends. Park on the street or behind the bank after 6pm. more

Great Indian Restaurant in Jamaica Plain 8/17/2005

This is a special place. The atmosphere is nice, the location on Centre St. (intersection with Burroughs) is convenient. Every day there is a lunch buffet. Price is quite reasonable -- around $8. On Sat and Sun, price a little higher, but more food. For dinner, there are several complete dinner packages that are a great deal -- most are dinners for two, and include numerous appetizers and two entrees, as well as desert. (Don't forget to try the coconut sorbet for desert -- served in a coconut shell.) On downside, when crowded, service can suffer. And the masala tea, at 2.50, seems too expensive. more

Great buffet! Lovely food. 7/21/2005

Bukhara is one of my favorite Indian restaurants in Boston. The menu has a large selection of dishes and a greats election for vegetarians. The offer a buffet for lunch and on weekends that is a super deal. Their website is located at: http://www.bukharabistro.com On the site, you'll find the menu, information about the restaurant, and info on their catering. The interior is clean, nicely decorated, and serene. The food is quite delicious, and I have never had a meal I didn't like. The service is top notch as well, always polite and kind. more

Bukhara Indian Cuisine in JP (02130) 11/18/2004

Bukhara is probably one of the more popular Indian restaurants in JP. Prices are reasonable for the servings, at about $12 per plate on average. The lunch buffet is very good, although selections for vegetarians is limited (a little odd for an Indian restaurant).

Spacing and decor is nice, although you may want to avoid sitting at the booth across from the bar (the air conditioner is always on and blows air right on the table in that area). Despite its popularity, available seating has never been a problem, even during dinner.

Service is average. The waiters seem a bit aloof at times, but not rude. Reservations are not required and there is ample parking directly in back of the restaurant with an entrance as well (very nice). Enjoy.
