Reliably Fantastic 12/12/2011

My husband and I enjoy a date night without the kids every month, and after trying many of Portland's wonderful restaurants, have chosen Bugatti's as our stand-by favorite. The staff, (many of which have served for 20 years) are always warm and friendly, the entrees continue to be fresh and delicious and you can't beat the value. Kudos to Lydia and her team and save a serving of Gamberetti for me! more

Good Casual Neighborhood Choice 10/20/2009

We've dined here a lot over the years, mostly it's been a good neighhborhood place. It's not fancy or pretentious and the prices are in-line. Food is consistent and most of the servers are good. The best place to eat in the West Linn / Lake Oswego area 12/23/2008

Bugatti's, where the prices are very good and so is the service. As for the food... when it comes to Italian-American food, Bugatti's can't be beat. The pasta is great--try the lamb ragu or the crab and basil. Or try the lamb loin, which is out of this world, and I don't think I have ever had a better Ceaser Salad. For years, reviewers have been raving about their tiramisu, but the apple tart is so good I refused to share it with my dinner companions. The only other place in the Portland area that has pasta this good is Ristorante Roma, which in my mind is the highest praise I can give. Pros: Food more

Romantic and Affordable 12/2/2008

We found this restaurant to be very romantic and were quite surprised to find it so affordable. I would highly recommend this for special occasions as well as everyday dining. We had to wait a few minutes for our reservation and passed the time having one of the bartender's specialty cocktails. Awesome food and service. We will be back! Terrible Service 6/18/2008

Had dinner at Bugattis in West Linn with some friends. The food was OK but defintitely not worth the price. And if you are paying high prices for food, you should at least get good service. We had the worst service I have ever encountered in a restaurant. The waitress was rude, incompetent, and unprofessional. We had to flag down other waitstaff when we wanted to order, to get refills on drinks, and to clear our table. When she realized we were having to get help from her coworkers, there were no apologies for her poor service - just excuses and attitude. We asked to speak to the manager on duty and he was pretty much worthless - could care less about his customers. I definitely recommend NOT going to this restaurant - unless you just feel the need to get treated badly and to waste money on mediocre food. Cons: Service, Value, Parking more

Bad Service 1/2/2008

Snooty restaurant. Parking is horrible. I got take out once, but this was the first time I dined in. I went in Portland casual attire. I took my family when they were here for Christmas. Had only been on other time. I look young, but I am 33 and I walked in with my 21 year old cousin and her boyfriend. My mom, aunt and uncle were still parking the car. About 4 or 5 waiters walked passed us and refused to acknowledge us. My mom, aunt and uncle walked in and they were immediately greeted. I don't know if age discrimination exists to the young, but this was definately a case of it. When my mom was greeted, they proceeded to tell us that there was an hour wait. If they had just told us this when I walked in, I could have saved my mom the hassle of parking as we weren't going to wait that long. I won't go back again. It is a family neighboorhood and the snooty attitude of this restaurant doesn't belong here. more

Not great 11/5/2007

We had been to this location about 3-4 months ago it was really good! Then we went back a month or so after that and it was just okay. Thought we would give it one more go and went last Sunday, it was noon dead (2 other tables and only 1 new one when we left), and downer music. Walked in 2 people behind counter just looked at us until I said 3 please. The chicken dumpling soup came out luke warm, sent it back and they heated in microwave and changed cups still just slightly warmer, the pizza was just okay not super. It was warm as well. Waiter was nice but not amazing. The place could be amazing if they could be consistant, change the environment to more upbeat place and better management. Pros: location Cons: everything else more

Excellent everything. 12/2/2006

We had never been here before but heard wonderful things... everything was perfect. The service, the drinks, the food. Highly recommended! Romantic setting, attentive staff and the food was just out of this world. The price tag was high but to be expected. We'll be back. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Pros: food, service, ambience Cons: probably only for special occasions more

Remodel is AWESOME 3/16/2006

The restaurante has been remodeled and is BEAUTIFUL! The ambiance is very sultry sexy perfect for a date. They have a full bar and a wonderful wine list. The patio is beautiful and has a built in wall waterfountain. The bartenders are very nice and the service is impeccable.... going back tomorrow! Cheers! Pros: Food , Service , Wine List more

We have been to Bugatti's Ristorante many times. We are always delighted. Our recent visit the staff was wonderful, food was fantastic and all of us enjoyed our Birthday evening. Thanks to the staff at a great place. Pros: well trained staff, wine list, dessert more

I retract my previous glowing review... 9/28/2005

Much to our disappointment Buggatti's has gone corporate... We took some friends there (West Linn location) about a year ago and ordered our standard dinner. It was the first time we had experienced the food being just good, and not great. Shortly thereafter we started seeing Buggatti's popping up all over town. Please don't get me wrong - It is still a good, solid place to eat - but whoever is staffing the kitchen these days (at all locations) does not have the perfectionism that once made Buggatti's great. So sad. (NB: It still beats the socks off any of the national chain restaurants in the area, but we've found another favorite local spot). more

A forgotten gem. 6/30/2004

The reviewer Stronzo needs to take a pill and chill. Bugatti's has been one of the most consistent restaurants in Portland for over 12 years now. Lydia Bugatti's food is a throwback to my mother's Italian cooking. I always enjoy both the Italian comfort food and the warm welcome that greets me. Eating at Bugatti's is a great experience of friendship and food. It's not trendy or ""hot"" but it sure is good. Pros: food, service, value more

My Secret Place 1/27/2003

It's a secret place that has the most incredible food, (if you're not full after eating piles of the rustic bread and olive oil with pepper and basil) the service is impeccable (feels like you're visiting an old friend that really missed you!), and the mood is romantic and laid back (my husband and I never go anywhere else for our anniversary or any other special occasion). Never disappointed 9/27/2002

This is the best value in Portland - I almost hate for others to find out! Pasta is excellent. Get the Agnello or Prociutto pasta - wonderful flavors. The wine list is very nice and there isn't a high markup. One of my favorite wines ($14.99 in the store) is only $20 here. A great value and terrific food. Fantastic service! 8/15/2002

Incredible food and friendly, helpful staff combine to make this a highly memorable restaurant. It's always tops on my list for out of town guests since I know it to be extremely reliable. A definite must for those who insist on only the very best in dining experiences. more
