Art museum 12/30/2005

This museum is pretty big and has a lot of art to look at. It has all sorts of art--paintings, sculptures, etc. On the side of the art piece, there is a brief description of the work and some history on it, which I found quite useful and interesting. It is far for me, personally, since I live about 45 minutes away from fort worth, otherwise I would visit there more often. more

Make it a date. 11/9/2005

This is a place that is neat to visit. They have a restaurant there and some very nice exhibits to view. I have gone here for a class I was writing a paper for and now that I have been there I wish I would have been visiting there all along. I will return to see the special exhibits. more

Wonderful Museum 9/8/2005

The Kimbell Art Museum is a huge museum that houses a wonderful selection of art. A lot of it is by famous painters and there is a section for Texas Artist also. The Kimbell gets many very large exhibits that travel the world and we are luckly enough that the Kimbell is world known and gets those huge exhibits. The Kimbell is set in a very lovely area of the arts district and allows you to stroll through the grass area before and after you go to the museum. more

Art museum 8/19/2005

This is a great musuem. They are always changing out there exhibits so it makes you want to go all of the time so you can see all of the new things. It can get crowded sometimes on the weekends especially during the summer. But it is worth waiting in the crowd. more

Never a boring moment 8/19/2005

Every season they change their feature presentations! It's one of the most educational places: perfect to take the entire family and get a full day of culture, history and relaxation! more

Looking for a great time 8/17/2005

I took my family to the museum and we had a great time. The staff was very cooperative and polite and were willing to spend time with us and show us around. It is a cheap way to enjoy some quality time with your family. If you get a chance, you should try to go and hopefully you will have a good of an experience as I have had. more

Best Small Museum 8/13/2005

Featuring masterpieces from the classics to the 20th century, you'll find some striking paintings in this gallery. The building was designed by Louis Kahn, a famous architect so you'll also notice the unique architecture. This is regarded as one of the premire art facilities around the world. Add this to your must visitlist for Dallas art museums. more

another good one 8/10/2005

i love the museum district of fort worth. i really like the kimbell. they are great for traveling exhibits and have many that are rather exclusive. i like to visit as often as i can. i try to avoid the special exhibits on saturdays becuase it can get a little crowded and i sometimes feel rushed. not a cool feeling in a museum when you want to take your time and look. more

Constant rotation of new art 8/10/2005

If you are an avid museum fan, then it's well worth the membership so that you can see all of the exhibits. I have enjoyed so much of this place over the years, but the Renoir/Monet exhibit has to be my favorite. The Picasso/Matisse was fairly amazing too. They have wide viewing areas and plenty of parking. This museum doesn't allow photography AT ALL, but if you are a student you may receive permission to sketch certain items and you will often see college students in there. The prices for prints in the gift shop are also reasonable. more

nice facility, nice collection 7/27/2005

The Kimbell is certainly the more popular of the two museums separated by Arch Adams Street. While I feel that the Kimbell pales in comparison with The Modern (the other museum), I can see why the Kimbell's appeal is wider than its neighbor. They have more of a classical collection, with master artists who happen to have recognizable names. Their facility, while on the small side, makes the most of its space. They have many impressive traveling exhibitions that don't really appeal to me, but others seem to love them. more
