Got two sweaters dry cleaned. 90$. Seriously? They weren't THAT well done either. That's insane and ridiculous. I'd heard they were expensive but great. But I've lived in the mo...

LIKE SURPRISES? 6/23/2013

When I dropped off my clothes, the woman behind the counter asked if I'd been there before. I told her ""no"" and saw her lips curl in to a (in retrospect, it seems to me) sadistic little smile. She knew I was in for a big surprise. Days later, when they told me the bill was almost $200.00 for my four items, I told them (nonchalantly) they had mixed up my order with someone else's. Guess what...they hadn't. Plus, a linen jacket they'd cleaned was shrunk by a full size. \r \r Look, I am all for superior service and a quality dry cleaner that charges $45 or $50 to clean my sweaters. But I want to know what they are charging upfront. She knew I was a new customer who'd just come in off the street without a clue about their pricing and she did not say a word about it. Instead, she got off on knowing that I was in for a shock (just my impression). That is what her little smile was all about. \r \r This business should be REQUIRED by the City of Santa Monica to post their prices in a VERY VISIBLE location so that new customers know ahead of time about their unusual pricing. It's not 'usual and customary' to charge $200 to clean four items. How they get away with this is beyond me. Cons: Extremely Expensive more

On another level of expensive. And for no reason. 5/10/2012

Got two sweaters dry cleaned. 90$. Seriously? They weren't THAT well done either. That's insane and ridiculous. I'd heard they were expensive but great. But I've lived in the most expensive places in the world, but never heard of that expensive. 90 dollars? more

Insanely expensive and rude 9/30/2010

I went to pick up my two items today -- a shirt and a sweater -- and they told me the bill was $97.50. I said there had to be a mistake and the woman looked at me like I was crazy and said, ""No there is no mistake. We hand cleaned these items."" I had no idea of the prices and obviously wouldn't have used them had I known, yet the woman behind the counter pretended like she had never had a customer experience sticker shock there before. Go somewhere else. more

Simply the best! 5/21/2010

Polite, Kind, Personable, Honest and Informative SERVICE! as in TO SERVE, as in OLD FASHIONED value and pride in excellent work and dignified reserve. If you want the best service and if your wardrobe deserves the best care then by all means enter this wonderful dry cleaner. Pros: Excellent Workmanship and Attention to Detail Cons: Pricey but my opinion is, if you want the best... more

Good but Condescending & Expensive 4/30/2009

I had heard that this place was snooty and condescending. I came prepared to be especially polite because I have a precious leather jacket that needed repair. The lead woman (sorry, don't know her name), made me feel like an idiot anyway. When I inquired what they had done to repair the hole in my jacket, she replied ""I already told you what we were going to do. We glued a patch inside. You cannot see it."" I said yes, I can see the repair. If glue was used, is it possible it could lift? She looked at me like I was stupid and said ""No, it is leather glue. It will not lift."" Like we are all supposed to know how leather glue works? And when paying $60 for a small patch, we are not entitled to questions? I don't think my questions were out of line. I wonder if this woman is as wealthy as her clients or just tries to pretend that she is. I am offended. Pros: Good cleaning for wedding dresses, etc. Cons: Be prepared to feel like you are low class more

best in Los Angeles area... but it costs!!!! 1/15/2007

This is not your typical dry cleaners... this is the place that cleans all the gowns/tuxedos that strut down the premier red carpets on the biggest stars. They have standards that cannot be matched... prices, too. If your garment cost over $1000, this is where to bring it... and if that's the case then the price of their service probably won't matter! more

rude and condescending 9/26/2006

I feel like I was mistreated by this cleaners, both in their treatment to my when I dropped my clothes off and when I spoke with the manager. Note to readers: their price list is posted behind you, partially obstructed.\r \r I have never been spoken down to by a cleaning service while also being totally ripped off. This place must get by on one time only customers. Turns out no one I know is a loyal customer. \r \r Don't be fooled by their primo location. I recommend people avoid this cleaning service. Cons: This place is a con. more

Way Overpriced 6/18/2006

This place is way TOO EXPENSIVE! I guess the wealthy people in Santa Monica don't mind paying $20 to have their slacks drycleaned. Go anywhere else. more
