Frustrated patient 10/12/2011

by Patient Frustrated 10/12/2011 I have never posted a review online of any service or business. That is how frustrated I am with the care provided by this practice and feel that it is my responsibility to post feedback here. Office staff are so inept and rude that there is a sign posted in the lobby requesting that ""patients will not be permitted to yell at staff."" What is the customer service level of your business if you have to spell that out? They are unorganized and very unconcerned about their patients overall experience. Really, they are not all that worried if you express concerns. The office manager is the worst of all of them, so don't bother escalating a problem. Their offices are closed for 2 hours at lunch, close at 4pm for the day, and stop taking calls well before that so they don't have to answer questions. Refills routinely take a week to get called back to the pharmacy, but if the pharmacy faxes it over and you don't call and nag them then it won't get filled at all. Count on it. Seriously, you'll have to call every single time. Moreover, getting patients back in for unnecessary checkups must be the bulk of their practice and revenue because they will not refill even the most routine medications by phone. I end up in their office every 2 months for medications I've been taking for 15 years without a variation in my treatment plan. This is the biggest of my complaints because it leads to expensive co-pays and lost time at work. You should seek out a different practice. I'm planning on finding one that manages their patient records online (like some of my specialists do at other facilities) and is more in line with a modern practice. Email, online records, and online records requests are pretty typical in this world now. Calling the doctor's office seven times to finally get someone on the phone at 3:45 to be told they are closing for the day and are sorry they didn't refill your prescription from 8 days ago is not. more

Good Doctor, Friendly Staff 7/20/2008

I have been going to Brookhaven Family Medicine for almost two years. I have always been taken very good care of and I feel that I always receive extensive workups for an illness that I have come in for. more

Best Doctor I've been to! 3/5/2006

I've been a patient of Dr. Loehr's for over 15 years. He treated all of my minor wellness until October of 1997 when I became very sick with tremendous pain. In three months he diagnosed fibromyalgia. He sent me to additional specialists who all agreed and tried to help with their specialities. In 2004, I moved to Illinois to be closer to my family. Since then I have been to numerous physicians, and have had so many problems. Recently I came to Dallas for a week, saw Dr. Loehr and he is going to be my main Doctor for my fibromyalgia. I will make the trips to Dallas because it is worth the travel to see such a wonderful doctor who understands and cares. more

My Doctor 7/19/2005

I have been going to Dr. Loehr for over 4 years. He is quite thorough and explains what is needed to be done and why. His office staff is generally very good. His bed side manner is low key and enjoyable. He was also selected as a Super Doctor by Texas Monthly. He is occasionally behind in his schedule but never appears rushed, and will always answer all the questions that I have. I recommend him very highly. Pros: caring, knowledgeable, gave me samples Cons: parking more
