Worst Manger Never Live here BAD BAD & WORST 11/12/2011

I have been living at Brompton Court for almost three years and I have seen it go from a nice complex to a slum. The Ken and Barbie management are really a joke. They claim to be making lots of improvements to the complex, but the only improvements are in the front office so the staff can have a nice place to stay out of the heat. Problems: 1) NO HOT WATER! 2) Security lighting in the hallways never work 3) Light fixtures that get broken are never repaired 4) The floors in the hallways are cracked and broken out, a tripping hazard for sure 5) Pool care is non-existant recently (the guy that did this before must have been fired because I never see him anymore) 6) The staff never answers the phone when you have a problem 7) They are johnny on the spot with rent notices, too bad they can't be that quick with repairs 8) They allow State Farm Insurance to block the exit gate at 6:30 in the morning to hussle for customers. Good idea since no one has to go to work that early! Right'9) ROACHES ROACHES ROACHES! I am afraid of being carried off in the night because of the bugs. 10) The appearance of trash eveywhere in the complex has increased. more

BOTTOM LINE: DO NOT LIVE HERE 7/19/2011

I just want to reiterate what the other reviews have said. The management here is TERRIBLE! Particularly Jason & Garrett. I cannot think of a single instance where either were helpful. Problems I had while living at Brompton Court Apartments: 1. I needed a 3 month lease. To obtain a short-term lease you have to pay extra at any complex, my rent was $1650/mo for a 2 BD/2BA. I was told that I would have free internet b/c I was located poolside. The wifi NEVER worked. We mentioned this to the management numerous times. It made no difference. 2. In the short time I was there, the refrigerator, oven, & washing machine x 2 broke. The repair people are actually good but NOT if you call the management office. I reported a problem to them and they never bothered to pass it on to the people who do the repairs. I just happened to get the repair number when I called after hours. 3. The water is disgusting, I mean absolutely disgusting! It's an old apartment so the pipes are rusty, as a result the water was brown & had a terrible odor. 4. They will nickel & dime you on everything! We wanted to move out July 7 instead of July 1. They refused to pro-rate our rent & wanted to charge us for an entire month. When we moved out they charged us $75 to clean the carpets, $70 for the oven. Keep in mind I was only there 3 months! The carpet was old & gross prior to me ever moving in but still I was charged for routine maintenance between tenants. When I called to dispute the charges Jason threatened to turn me into a collection service. How is that for customer service? more

Brompton Cockroaches place. 7/15/2011

They are racist, if you do not speak English very well they do no made valid the offers they give for the Americans residents,(my friends receive this offer 1 month after I stated living in Brompton, but when I ask about the offer they said that there is any more valid). \r After only 1.5 days at Brompton I had already received a more

Not so great 6/11/2009

I was a tenant at Brompton Court for the past 11 months and recently purchased a home. We did not close on our home until 30 days before our lease was up at Brompton Court. As a result, Brompton Court management is charging us an additional month of rent that is beyond our 12 month lease. We paid our last rent payment in full and fulfilled the payment terms of our 12 month lease. Shortly after management received our rent payment and 30 day move out notice, we were asked to pay an additional $1385 because we did not give them a 60 day notice. The apartment manager stated that although we plan to vacate the apartment in the next 30 days, we must pay another month of rent because they didn't get 60 days notice. I posted my concern on apartment ratings website and a few ""residents"" responded. Here is my feedback to those ""residents"" since my IP address has been blocked from the website.\r \r A 60 day move out notice is not in ""EVERY SINGLE lease."" I lived in 3 different apartment complexes in Austin while in college and never gave 60 days notice. I lived in one other complex in Houston and never gave 60 days. 30 from my, and my parents, understanding had been the standard. I'm sure more and more complexes are moving to 60 to squeeze more out of their tenants. It's pretty simple. Most people will not know for sure where they will be living in 60 days, so complexes get that free month of rent and 30 extra days to shop for a new tenant. Regardless, you're right, 60 days notice is in this lease. But the question comes to customer service and not a simple ""it's in your contract."" When you go to a restaurant, they are not required to take your food back should you not like it (or it's cold, or whatever), but they do because they want to make sure you're a happy customer. In the license (contract) you agreed to for your Windows or Apple operating system, it states that this software is not required to operate as advertised. Yet, if it didn't do what you expected, you would expect a refund despite what your contract states. The fact is that this type of policy should be used to encourage people to provide as much notice as possible, not to hold over people and actually expect payment. That's what I would expect anyway. As for everything else, it is 100% accurate. Obviously, they have no control over the hurricane, but we did pay our rent on time and in full in September, despite not having the amenities we were paying for; we just endured. Our AC did go out 3 times and required multiple trips by the maintenance to fix it; we paid our rent on time and in full despite not having what our lease said we should. We didn't have carpet for 4 days and walked around on concrete after Ike; paid in full and on time. We personally got rid of all of the mold in the house after Ike; rent paid in full and on time. EVERY time it rained, there was a standing water surrounding and covering the path to the garage and our vehicles; on time and in full. Car broken in to and property stolen; on time and in full. Without electricity for a week after Ike (only our building for some reason); on time and in full. We fulfilled every requirement of our lease minus one. We only provided 30 days notice and not 60. They have already signed up a tenant for August 1 (sorry you don't believe me, but I actually don't know why you care), so they're out one month rent. We were inconvenienced on numerous occasions, yet paid in full and on time each month. I don't know, customer service means something to me. If it does to you, you might want to take another look at other complexes. That's all I'm saying. \r more

Avoid at all costs 6/25/2007

I have lived here for a year and I would like to warn everyone against coming here. The rent has become astronomical and the apartments are old and run down. The maintenance people take forever to fix anything and the airconditioners are so old that I spend a fortune on electricity costs every month. The management are also misleading making promises and then changing things. New management has taken over and they are really rude .... especially once you have signed your lease and need help with anything. Rather go across the road to Berkshires on Brompton, much lower rent and apartments are new... also their laundry facilities are free ! I am going to be moving there ! Can't wait to get out of this hole that is Brompton Court ! Please save yourself alot of headaches and go somewhere else ! Pros: location Cons: Very expensive rent for what you get more

DO NOT RENT HERE!!! 5/1/2007

First off, I moved in when this was still an Archstone property. Since the switch to Rockwell mgmt. the complex has only gotten worse. In the two years I've been here the rent has continually gone up to the point where they've really priced themselves out of the market. There are nicer, high-end apts. next door (The Camden) and cheaper, comparable style apartments across the street. The management and staff do nothing. Nothing is ever fixed. If you work at the Medical Center there is a shuttle that will take you there, but they've raised the rate on that so that it's about $40/month to take the shuttle, and it's always late and slow and (coming home from work) takes over an hour to get 3 miles because of the route they take!!! People who had been here for 5,6, 7 years when it was Archstone are now looking to move elsewhere. That should tell you all you need to know.\r \r Basically, at Brompton Court you get the feeling that nobody cares about you after you signed a lease. They're only interest is in bringing in new tenants. Of course, it's backfiring because occupancy has steadily been declining because everyone here realizes how poorly managed the place is.\r \r JUST DON'T MOVE IN TO BROMPTON COURT!!!! Pros: Great location Cons: Management doesn't care, overpriced for what you get more
