I have never been to a therapist before and did not know what to expect when I visited for the first time with Jan. What a wonderful experience this has been for me. Jan is honest, caring and very intuitive. She has helped me so much in overcoming some life long problems. more

I sought the counsel of Jan after a couple of years of infertility, as my husband and I decided to move forward with adoption. She has been a tremendous resource in moving through my grief, and pointing us toward great resources from local agencies, to books, to just great food for thought. I have truly benefitted from Jan's expertise, and highly recommend her! Her office is conveniently and centrally located, parking is easy, and the office setting is quite comfortable. more

""Janet Brinn"" is really just a practice name since the doctor with that name doesn't take new patients. Instead Dr. Brinn has a number of employee therapists, some doctors, some not, that see her patients in her stead. It's all billed under Janet Brinn's name for some reason. Pros: You can get a good therapist Cons: It won't be Brinn and the practic is chaotic at best more

I was excited to find Dr. Brinn close to home and specializing in ADHD for my daughter. We never met or saw Dr. Brinn and went through 3 counselors in less than 9 months. The first counselor we worked with, Mary, was wonderful!!! We made great progress, but then she left Dr. Brinn's practice. The next Dr. We saw was Stephanie and we really liked her. She had a lot going on personally so she was always canceling appointments at the last minute. She was let go suddenly. What a shame she really had potential. The final doctor, Dr. Santangelo, lacked in personal and social skills as well as working with children. How she was ever hired I'm not sure. She pressed into issues that were not issues we were there for and caused more problems than help. Then when I had to cancel an appointment last minute because of a virus my daughter had we were charged $55.00 for missing the appointment. (Remember Stephanie canceled on us very last minute 2-3 times, but no on ever acknowledged her cancellations or offered us any compensation for our time.) The ladies that do the billing for Dr. Brinn, do this part-time and out of their homes. I think they should turn off the T.V. or take a class in medical billing. Even though I paid every co-pay and my insurance paid the remainder I just received a bill 1 year after we quit going there threatening to turn me into collections for money they have already received. No notice that this was coming or even a phone call that there was still a balance owed even though I just downloaded every EOB and there is not! Don't waste your time. Jan has been a wonderful help to me - genuinely concerned and insightful but she does it in a way where I feel neither pitied nor placated. Also very interactive with my prescribing doc so that is a bonus. Cons: location more
