Excellent personal service 5/12/2008

I go to a church that is very close to this location and I have always seen a line out the door, finally I decided to try it. I love it because its independent, not just another chain restaurant. They have excellent waffles, and skillet breakfast varieties, and it is just a very cute southern place. I am not from here, and I have traveled the country, and it is always nice to visit diners and other cute places along the way, this would be one of them. The service is very friendly, right down to the college kid greeting you when you walk in the door. If there are any problems, they are solved automatically, and the food is always great. Sundays there may be a wait, but in my opinion it is well worth it. more

Excellent! 5/8/2008

I've been coming to Brigs Restaurant for years and I've never had a bad meal. Ever. The food is delicious and the staff is just lovely. They're cordial, helpful, and they genuinely want to give you a great experience. The restaurant itself is constantly changing its decor, but its alwasy extremely tasteful and artistic. I especially like the elegant mirrors located in one of the dining areas.\r I checked online, and the highest price for a meal is 12 dollars, which is extremely reasonable. Its won a bunch of awards for Best Breakfast, but they're also open for dinner. You can get any meal from the menu anytime during the day, so it doesn't even matter. Breakfast for dinner? No problemo!\r The food itself? Tasty! Tasty! I try to get something different everytime I'm in there, and so far I've tried(and loved) their pancakes, waffles, burgers, waldorf, broccoli, and grilled chicken salad. They've also got excellent omelettes and they''ve also got the Strawberry shortcake, which has a mountain of whip cream and ice cream!\r I love this place! I don't know of any place that does a better job at leaving me feeling satisfied. Pros: Everything. Its all great. more

Not Very Good 9/30/2007

We read some good reviews on here and thought we'd try this place out for Sunday brunch. We were told when we got there that the wait was 20 minutes but we ended up waiting more than 45 minutes. The service was pretty good but the food was really greasy. Someone else said it's hardly better than a Waffle House and I totally agree. The decor is really bad...it reminds me of a run down Jersey diner. I wouldn't waste your time standing around outside for a seat. I definitely think you can do better. Pros: Lots of Menu Options Cons: Greasy Food, Long Waits, Overpriced for the Quality more

Food is lacking 8/22/2007

I used to enjoy eating at Brig's several years ago, the quality of the food was always consistent. I've been maybe 3 or 4 times since I moved back to the area and it has gone downhill. I hope that the management will read these reviews because they really need to do something fast. Brigs is a small restaurant and it does get crowded especially on Sunday's after church. But they do a pretty good job at seating people, and the most I've waited has been 15 minutes. However they need to step up the cleanliness and the food. My most recent visit was on 8-19, and I noticed their sanitation rating was only a 90, which is barely an A. The food has come out very inconsistently, one time we got very runny grits and another time the French toast was dry inside because they didn't let the batter soak all the way through before cooking it.\r The omelet I ordered on this last visit was pretty bland, even though it sounded so yummy from the description on the menu. Honestly I've had better breakfasts lately at Perkins. Brig's still seems to do a good business on the weekends but I think that is due to the fact that there is such a lack of brunch places in Cary. I hope they can get their act together, and for now I think I'll start making my breakfast at home. Pros: usually a short wait on weekends Cons: seating is close, food is inconsistent and not up to par more

Not worth the hype. Quality barely above Waffle House. 6/3/2007

I was hoping that the 4 negative reviewers were wrong, but they were right. Brigs is not outstanding - the food is barely above Waffle House quality. Maybe about the same as an IHOP but with more expensize prices. I had the mushroom omlette and it maybe had 4-6 slided pieces of mushrooms in it! The ""homestyle fries"" are just potato pieces with some kind of weird seasoning and not that good. My husband got the Meat Lover's omlette and it was dismal as well. The service was ok. The drink prices (milk, coffee, hot chocolate, etc) seems a bit higher than normal. Their logo implies quality and class, but the restaurant's decor and tables were very cheap looking and low quality. I've been to some truly outstanding, ""this is the best"" restuarants for breakfast around the states, but Brigs is not one of them. Pros: No trouble parking, didn't have to wait long on Friday morning. Cons: Low quality food for high quality prices. more

Great food and service 5/27/2007

The best breakfast restaurant in the triangle. Friendly staff takes care of you and makes you feel special. The wait can be daunting on weekends but the wait is well worth it. Highly recommend. Pros: Food, service, location, portions Cons: Wait more

Was Once Much Better 1/25/2007

I don't see how Brigs continues to get high ratings. I have dined at all of their locations (except Wake Forest) beginning with the Raleigh site in 1988 and in my opinion the Durham site has gone the most downhill, Cary next, and Raleigh third. First, their waiting areas are cramped and dirty. Second, their carpet and tablecloths are dirty, and third, the food is mediocre at best. Perhaps it is the menu variety and minimum area brunch choices that keeps Brigs popular. Pros: Good locations, good menu assortment. Cons: Poor appearance and visual cleanliness. more

Get There Early and Enjoy 1/15/2007

Luckily we arrived early enough on a Sunday morning to not have to wait for a table...when we left, the line was daunting! But despite the bustling business, the service was prompt and friendly. I had the Garden Omelette, which was tasty and huge...with just the right amount of tomato, onion, mushrooms and their omelettes are made with 3 eggs - certainly didn't leave hungry!. My husband had french toast which he also liked, but did remark that the bacon was over cooked. I do wish the restaurant was bigger...the tables have the feel of a tight squeeze, and there were a lot of kids...so it's not really the place to go if you want a ""relaxing"" breakfast. Otherwise, go early and give it a try! Pros: Service, Food, Parking Cons: Long Waits, Ambience more

Great Breakfast - One of the best. 2/11/2006

Briggs knows how to treat you to a great breakfast. I can see why they were votes one of the best. I have visted there often, and everytime the food has been wonderful. service was prompt and prices were reasonable. Pros: Great Food, Service, Prompt Cons: Coffee a bit bitter more

Perkins, anyone? 2/2/2006

I am a recent transplant and am a breakfast fanatic. After searching for the local breakfast joints, Brigs came up as a #1 rated breakfast restaurant. Apparently the locals have never experienced a truly great breakfast, because this place doesn't even come close. You might as well go to Perkins where the prices are a bit better, because this is the same. The food isn't bad, it is just boring. Pros: Ample parking Cons: food variety, service more

Your not just another customer at Brig's 7/27/2005

Your not just another customer at Brig's in Cary, like at the chain restaurants. The personnel at Brig's treat each customer like family. The team at Brig's are one big family and they treat their customers like they would like to be treated. If you ask for your food a certain way, you get it, with a smile and no complaints. The food is great and it is a great place to take your family and/or small kids. Lisa and Mike (the owners) go out of their way to make your visit each time, SPECIAL. You might have to wait for a short period of time on Sunday morning, but you will not be disappointed. Try it you will like it. I promise! Pros: great service, great food, friendly more

Yummy 2/5/2003

If you want a taste of heaven at 7 in the morning, just order a Almond Nut English Muffin. This thing is out of this world. Maybe I should go get one for lunch as well!!! more

atempt at breakfast in area w/o options 11/24/2002

It is really to bad that this little breakfast is a bust. From the outside this place looks very inviting with lines and people dressed in thier their Sunday best. The truth is these people have no where else to go. I live in the area and was extremely dissapointed in the entire atmoshpere when I decided to try it this place out. Imagine screeming babies in a small crowded restaurant. The waitress brings a burnt cup of coffee; a sign of things to come. When the food arives, you are hardly satisfied. The food isn't bad, it just isn't what you would expect. I would recomend the new perkins which is only a 20 min drive. Pros: cheap, good parking Cons: crowded, bad food, bad coffee more

Briggs Rules! 11/1/2002

Had breakfast four or five times at Briggs on Creedmoor Road this past 9 months. All I can say is, if you want to start your day with the best breakfast you could possibly eat and you just can't make it to your mom's - then go to Briggs. It is clean, well-managed, friendly, low-key, has free newspapers while you wait and the food is...well, don't take my word for it - try it for yourself! I just wish I could eat their 7 days a week! Pros: inexpensive, clean, quiet Cons: parking, parking, parking more

Bring on the Brigs 10/26/2002

The food is the best I've had in a long time. They serve some of best pancakes known to man. The service is fast and friendly. I highly recommend you try it for yourself. Pros: allday breakfast, real orange juice, inexpensive more

If you are not a regular don't go 10/24/2002

It becomes very clear as soon as you enter Brigs that the regulars take priority. Two tables that came in after we did got waited on first. When the wait person came to take our order. Have yall decided, Then starts a conversation with the next table. The food is just above Waffle House. I see there were only 24 voters. How it was named #1 is beyond me. Cons: bad service, not friendly at all, food just basic more

only go if you're hungry 10/22/2002

This restaurant offers large portions, quality food, extensive choices, and a nice atmosphere (family-oriented). Great for breakfast on the weekends. more

Don't bother....... 10/20/2002

Having recently moved to The Triangle, my wife and I decided to try Brigs based on ""Reader"" recommendations at CitySearch. The ""Readers"" must be the locals who have never had a great breakfast because this place brings a new meaning to poor dining. Tacky wallpaper, tacky furniishings, etc. I ordered bacon in an omelette and what I received wouldn't pass for Spam. Don't waste your time. Pros: None come to mind Cons: Tacky atmosphere, Bad food more
