I've been eating at Bernard's for 10 years, an average of once, sometimes twice a week. Bernard's is our favorite restaurant on Maui. I always 'feel better' after I've experienced one of Bernard's fresh, wonderful meals. His meals are truly food for the soul. His beef rouladen dish, served with fresh home-made spaetzle and marinated red cabbage is my favorite dish. The turkey cream schnitzel with noodles and sauteed veggies is great. The crabcake melt sandwich is the best. My friends love the lambchops and also the salmon and yellow rice. You must try the chocolate mousse for desert. Excellent selection of wines and German beers. Oh, the bratwurst platter is excellent, with imported bratwurst served with crispy hashbrowns and sauerkraut. Yum-yum! The staff is very friendly, of course, being a ten year veteran helps. Bernard sometimes has entertainment at night. His Oktoberfest is very popular with reservations required. Oh, and his steaks & rouladen melt in your mouth. Sitting in the beergarten is great, and the dining room is comfortable. Attracts business people at lunch, and a 'regular' crowd' for dinner. Many patrons travel directly to Bernard's when they first arrive at the airport, as well as their last meal on their way to the airport. I'm headed there, now!
