PLEASE BE AWARE...GOING TO BRIGHTON TV IS DEFINITELY NOT A CUSTOMER FRIENDLY AND NOWHERE NEAR HONEST. WE WERE TOLD OUR TV WOULD BE READY FOR PICK UP ON MARCH 3, (A WEEK AFTER DROPPING OFF) BUT THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN CAUSE NO PART. LITTLE DID WE KNOW JOHN WAS NO WHERE NEAR FIXING IT. HIS EXCUSE EVERYTIME WAS WE ARE WAITING FOR A PART. WHEN WE QUESTIONED WHY SO LONG HE SAID ITS NORMAL FOR TV'S TO SIT IN THE SHOP FOR 3 OR 4 MONTHS...SERIOUSLY HOW RIDICULOUS. THEN HE TRIED A PART THAT WAS SITTING ON A SHELF FOR 3YEARS AT A FELLOW BUSINESS BUT WOULD GIVE US 50% DISCOUNT WELL THAT PART DIDN'T WORK EITHER. JOHN WOULD GO ROUND AND ROUND WITH EXCUSES OF WHY TV WASN'T FIXED AND THEN TALK ABOUT RUDE...THATS ALL HE WAS EACH CONVERSATION. WE FINALLY SAID WE ARE PICKING UP DONE OR NOT AND HE TURNED IT INTO US NOT WANTING TO GET IT FIXED WHICH IS NOT TRUE HE COULDN'T FIGURE IT OUT AND HIS LAST CONVERSATION WAS HE WAS WAITING ON TOSHIBA. WHEN WE PICKED UP TV HE WOULDN'T RETURN MY ORIGINAL RECEIPT HE GRABBED FROM MY HANDS AND I MEAN GRABBED HE WOULDN'T RETURN OUR MONEY WHEN HE DIAGNOSED NOTHING AND HE SAID HE NEEDED TO SEE MY HUSBANDS LICENSE TO VERIFY WHO HE WAS AND THEN HE JOTTED DOWN HIS I.D. NUMBER...HE HAS NO BUSINESS DOING THAT AND THEN HE GAVE ME DIFFERENT RECEIPT...WELL JOHN GOOD THING I KNOW TO MAKE COPIES SO I HAVE ALL MY NOTES ON EACH RUDE CONVERSATION WITH YOU. SO PEOPLE KNOW WE JUST TOOK OUR TV IN ON FRIDAY TO A DIFFERENT PLACE AND IT WAS READY FOR PICK UP TODAY BUT KNOW IT WAS FINISHED YESTERDAY SO THATS 4 DAYS AND THATS INCLUDING THE WEEKEND. I shipped my receiver to Brighton TV 3/27/2012

I shipped my receiver to Brighton TV (BTV) for repair in January & in April I'm still without any idea when I'll get it back. They rarely answer their phone. I've emailed 5 times without reply. I sent my receiver here for repair because my warranty company directed me to them. At this point I'm not sure if I'll ever see my precious receiver again. AVOID AVOID AVOID THIS COMPANY!! I CAN'T SAY THIS ENOUGH! UPDATE 3/29 - I received a call from BTV finally. It was a techn named John who angrily indicated he had saw my review & demanded I remove it. I told him I would do no such thing. After much discussion he said they had my unit repaired & it would be sent via UPS. He gave me a tracking number. UPDATE 4/5 - Unit is still not on its way per UPS. I called BTV & was told that UPS ""hadn't come out for pickup"". I called again & they indicated UPS had said it would be a special pickup since the package was too heavy?? & it would be an additional $10. Still wondering if this will ever ship.. UPDATE 4/10 - I finally got my receiver on Friday after waiting 4 months!!!!! It was shipped w/out any protective plastic/bubble wrap in a box with peanuts. Peanuts shouldn't be used w/electronics as they can get inside the unit. Upon taking the unit out of the package I noticed it had been dropped on it's right side. Despite my reservations I connected it up...IT DOESN'T WORK! I still get no video. So I waited 4 months for nothing. Very unhappy, I decided to give BTV one last chance to do right & at LEAST refund my shipping of $47. I called & spoke with John, the guy who had yelled at me before about my review. I asked for a refund of $47 since they had not repaired my unit. John was very angry. He utterly refused to work with me, in fact he indicated he would PURSUE LEGAL ACTION AGAINST ME for my review here. I immediately filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau after hanging up. I have also initiated a formal complaint with my warranty company to have BTV permanently removed from the list of repair centers. So just to recap: ""CUSTOMER SERVICE"" 1. They will keep your product for months. 2. They answer their phone less than half the time. 3. They won't ever return a single voice mail that you leave. 4. They won't ever answer a single email that you write them. 5. They will give you various status on your product depending upon who you speak with. 6. They hung up on me (once when I tried to get my warranty company them on the line.) 7. They called me & directly demanded I remove/edit my review of their company. 8. They threatened legal action against me if I updated my review further. ""SERVICE"" OF YOUR PRODUCT: 1. They do not do diagnostics on your unit to ensure it works completely before shipping it back to you. 2. They will just throw your expensive electronic equipment into a box with peanuts, not wrapping in plastic or bubble wrap to protect from water/moisture/drops. My advice to you is to once again STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY. If you have the misfortune of them working on your product & you wish to post a review here then don't use any sort of semblance to your real name if you don't want someone from BTV to call you, yell at you & threaten legal action. & just so we're clear here, if I was the one who paid for this ""repair"" I would most definitely be filing a legal claim on them but since it was my warranty company I have no such recourse. I'M 42 YEARS OLD, I HAVE DEALT WITH HUNDREDS OF COMPANIES IN MY DAY & THIS IS THE *WORST* COMPANY IN REGARDS TO CUSTOMER SERVICE & SHEER INCOMPETENCE I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO WORK WITH! more

Had a great experience using them, I had the same LCD checked out by another company here in Livingston County, The other company charged a rather large deposit that was non refundable and after a month told me parts were not available. Brighton TV charged 25.00 deposit called me 3 days later gave an estimate and repaired my set. Before I wrote this I waited to make sure (over 6 weeks) that my TV kept working, and it still looks great. Very happy with my service and can not understand why there are not any comments on here about how bad service is really is from other shops...AMAZED more

Worst Customer Service Ever 4/14/2011

Tv has been in their shop for over 5 weeks now and it's still not fixed. Lady at the counter said it would be done in a couple of weeks. They never answer their phones and I've had 1 return phone call during this ordeal so far. They said it would take a week to order the part, but that was 3 weeks ago. I'm afraid to give my real name on this review because another review said that when they came to get their tv to take it to another place they told them that they couldn't find it and that after 10 days they could throw out the tv. I feel like their holding my tv hostage. I want to go their unannounced to get my unfixed tv, but I don't know if they'll even be open, because they never answer their phones. Please stear clear of this company. It will save you a lot of headaches. I usually don't write reviews, but I'm so pissed off that I wouldn't wish their custumer service on my worst enemy. In conclusion, disregard the 3 or 4 postive reviews right after mine, because if you look at the history of all the reviews their are suddenly nice reviews after 1 bad one. Do you think someone from Briighton TV is trying to do damage control. That would be yes. more

Terrible Customer Service So Far... 11/9/2010

TV has been there 2.5 weeks after being told it would take 7-10 days for repair. No one ever answers the phone. Voicemails that were left requesting a status update are never returned. Had to actually drive 30 minutes to find out the status of the repair. Was told that TV still not working still and parts would need to be ordered but they were not sure what the problem actually was. The issue with my TV is very well known so I have no idea what the issue is now... more

Took my LCD to them, they gave me an estimate that pleased my purse. Told me parts could take up to 2 weeks and I said o.k., parts came in they fixed it , gave me a call and it now is back home in the family room where it belongs. I just wanted to say how happy I was, I was a little down because I thought new LCD should go longer than 14 months. I have since learned they do not do well with electric fluxes. So, unless you want your LCD to have a problem unplug it when not in use. If you forget you will soon be looking for a service center. Service was good 10/5/2009

Took my set to them, gave them a 25.00 deposit, they called about 5 days later gave me my estimate. I was agreeable, price was right, my LCD was fixed that very day. I picked it up, brought it home and it looks just like it did before it broke. it was worth it 10/5/2009

Over the years that they have been in business, I have had 3 units repaired all with different problems and products. My Bose was quick and I have never had another problem with it. My Lcd took a little while but they said parts were not available at the time they were ordered. Still, once it was fixed I have had no other problems. My 3rd set taken there was a little tv with a built in vcr and it turned out it was not worth repair. They were honest with me everytime and I spent much less than I thought I would have to. Yeah, On my LCD I did have to wait on parts, but some of that was my fault because I did buy a cheaper set than I should have. I have since learned that not all electronics are made and supported the same way. we all should strive to buy American. It makes a difference to us Americans, and provides us jobs, and the sets are just made better than any where else in the world. Besides that some company does not have to look in a 3rd world country to find a part to fix it. Just passing it along as it was a lesson learned. Anyhow , I am just making a statement I thought they did a great job and i have gone to them over and over and will keep doing so. Pros: curb side service, pleasant people, good job more

Worked For Me 10/2/2009

Took my set in and it was repaired and returned in a timely manner. I do not know what the last guy was talking about, they were open the hours their sign said they would be and same as printed in the yellowpages. They were really busy when I was there but that was it. They were pleasant and I got good service, My set still is working and I am very pleased. Pros: They did Good by me more

My TV took two weeks longer than the expected fixing date. The shop closes early when its suppose to be open. Also closes full days when its suppose to be open. I also had an issue with never getting through to them over the phone. They don't answer their phones, nor return business hours. My TV was brought home and still didn't work. Cons: Everything more

Whats up 9/21/2009

I guess I needed to say something about my service. I own a Samsung Dlp, these guys only charge 25.00 dollars to look at anything you bring in. I am guessing thats why they get so many nasty comments, cheap people tend to be edgy and whenever we spend money we want real value too. Sometimes when we get cheap pricing we are convinced we are getting inferior service, we tend to also be a whiney group. Any hoo...I got great service and the price was half what I was quoted anywhere else. I could not have been made happier, now I am back watching my games from my Lazy Boy. Just want to say What I think 9/1/2009

I am so wondering why there are all these comments on this little shop. They are not politically involved, community afront, publically outspoken, yet all these comments. How odd, seems so strange, and the bad comments are always the same over and over, like everyone waits 10 weeks, what are the chances? If that were the case how do they pay their employees? How do they stay in business, I am just guessing you have to work more than once every 10 weeks. I know they have been there for years. Plus they are in a plaza, guessing here, they pay rent more than someone in a stand alone off the beaten path shop. This looks like some other issue, maybe some other business that blames them for their lack of work. Maybe thats why there is nothing written on these other shops ""NO ONE USES THEM"" I think this is stupid, I only wrote this because I saw this and thought, man I was in there and they had lots of people dropping things off and in fact I had to wait because they were so busy. In fact I shop all the other places in their plaza. I like them and would use them again and again, and Because of all these weird comments I would use no one in this town but them. unlike the person I just got done reading, I simply had my LCD fixed. Price was good,fixed in 3 days, never have had another problem. This whinner must have some kind of mental issue, these last reviews look like they all belong to the same mentally challenged tv owner. Get a life, read a book, do you know any of your neighbors?. You must have spent the big bucks and bought a tv made in the back woods of China, what kind of person are you. These are good people who do good work.. I felt I needed to add some sane comments. A tv is a Tv, most people have other things in their lives, and they have no need to sit around and post comment after comment about how much they miss their only companion . Still Not Fixed 8/29/2009

Ive been waiting for a few months to get my TV repaired. Finally after 10 weeks, it was finally so called ""Repaired"". When I went home to turn on the TV the next day, the switch didn't work. I specifically told them to repair the switch. They are also very rude and lie to customers. Example: They never give a proper estimate and when they give an estimate it's off by at least 4 weeks. When you ask them when the TV will be repaired several people say different things. So in other words NOBODY KNOWS ANYTHING! I recommend you many times over that you never have them repair your TV or anything in that matter. Plus they charge WAY to much for the repair! Pros: NOTHING more

Worst place to get your TV fixed! 8/26/2009

Ive been waiting for 10 weeks for my TV to get repaired and they haven't even gotten the parts yet! They never answer the phone and whenever i go in there to check up on my TV a different person says a different thing! One man said it would be ready on Friday 2 WEEKS AGO! Now a woman says that it will take another 2 weeks to get our parts! They lack truthfulness to their customers. In other words they LIE to customers! i recommend you to steer clear of this place! Terrible place 8/26/2009

My family has been waiting for 8 weeks for our TV to get repaired and Brighton Tv & Video Service haven't even gotten their parts yet! last time we went to get our tv fixed it took 4 weeks and 110 dollars to fix our TV, except they didn't even fix it. Never have your tv or anything related to a TV fixed there EVER! Pros: No pros Cons: it takes more than 8 weeks to get parts more

Absolutely Horrible 8/18/2009

Took my appliance to these people, it has been A MONTH and I still have not received an estimate. The woman that works there not only has no clue, but also no business even being behind the counter as helpful as she was. Obviously in this tight economy they don't need any customers. They do not answer their phone, and they also have not called at all in A MONTH. Don't take your things here to repair unless you don't care about this, I do however, and I will NEVER deal with these people again. Cons: Terrible customer service. Clueless people more
