I wouldn't change a THING about my wedding dress experience at Brides by Demetrios!! Everything from my first shopping appointment to my final fitting has been perfect. The sales staff was not pushy at all. They even stayed back and let my mom help me try on the dresses so it was much more personal. I have had 4 follow-up appointments since and each one was memorable, with plenty of space to brings family & friends and also plenty of time to take pictures. The alterations staff (Jenny, in particular) was fabulous!! She knows all the tips & tricks to tailor your dress so it is flawless. She added beadwork to my dress by hand and it left me speechless when I saw it!! What a wonderful boutique! more

If I could give this salon 0 STARS I would! DO NOT BUY YOUR DRESS HERE!!!!! Last year I went into Brides by Demetrios to look for a wedding dress. The salesgirl I worked with was pushy and kept trying to hard sell me into gowns that were WAY OVER my budget and were just the tackiest things I had ever seen. Eventually, I did find a gown I was fond of so I put a $300 deposit on it. However, my wedding ended up changing in major ways and because of that the dress was no longer appropriate. I called the salon to ask them if I could use my deposit toward different merchandise that I needed - like a veil or other accessories. I was told I needed to talk with the store manager (GEORGIA) however she was never available to talk when I called. I finally got her on the phone after trying to reach her for weeks (she NEVER returned any of my messages). She told me that Demetrios has a policy of not allowing you to use your deposit towards ANYTHING besides a wedding dress. Then after speaking with her longer she said that maybe I could use it towards bridesmaid dresses. Unfortunately, my bridesmaids live very, very far away and would not be able to take advantage of a store in Washington for fittings or to see the gowns in person. I simply can't believe that any retailer (whether wedding related or not) would just TAKE YOUR MONEY and not let you use it towards any other merchandise in the store. The manager (whose name is GEORGIA) kept telling me the contract did not allow for refunds. Now if I could understand her not wanting to REFUND my money but telling me that my choices were to buy a second wedding gown I didn't need or give up my entire deposit is insane. I wasn't asking her for a refund but just the ability to use the money towards merchandise I actually needed. Then she acted offended that I said Demetrios had taken my money from me for nothing... as if I was lying. I'm sorry lady - when you take money and don't give goods of equal value in return you are actually stealing money from people. Having worked for many years in customer service in the past I know that there is nothing worse than having business practices that harm your customers. Word of mouth can be a very damaging thing for a business. Clearly Demetrios doesn't care about their reputation. If they did they wouldn't have a 1.5 rating on yelp. I think at the core of it - I would understand if the dress had actually been ordered and they had made an investment that they would loose money on if they let me apply the deposit to something else. However, no dress was EVER ordered. They simply pocketed the $300 I gave them and then tried to extort me with their corrupt policy. Disgusting. more

I have been to 4 other bridal shops on the Eastside. I decided to make an apt at Demetrios because I noticed a few dresses I liked online where from there. I thought it was going to be like a Davids Bridal. Davids Bridal has a reputation for being like a target vs a nordstrom in the fashion world. The atmosphere at Demetrios is really nice, like a showroom, with stages and sofas and really nice dresses. The salewoman are all dressed in black. Please note there are no cameras allowed, so you may not take pics and go home to look at them. They said people will replicate the dresses by having them made elsewhere, so NO PICS! That started to set the tone. I like to research my dress, try it on, take pics, go home and look at it with my friends, see how it photographs, and compare to all the other dresses Ive tried on...so I found a dress, gorgeous! It feels like it's 'the one."" BUT, It is out of my price range by a few hundred dollars. The saleswoman comes back holding a piece of paper like Im making a deal at a car dealership. She says she can give me 20 % off if I pay right now or 15% off if I pay 1/2 now. I have literally been in the store for 55 min, and she is telling me I must decide now. My apt. was at 5pm and it was 5:55pm. Closing time is 6pm. She looks at here flyer and says to me ""only TODAY!"" Other co-workers chime in and tell me I'm cutting it close anyways and if I don't decide soon, Ill have to pay a $300 rush fee. She then asks if me hesitating is worth $300. She tells me she can tell that this is the one! I turned away and said sorry I need to think about it. Yeah, I need to think about if I want to spend days in alterations dealing with these people more then once! Apparently, it takes 10 months to order your custom made dress from Demetrios??!! BTW, after they make my dress, it goes into alterations for a few more hundred dollars, and maybe another one after that? So this reputable bridal shop cannot get it right the first time?? I don't know, the more I go to these wedding website boards, it seems that its not us being Bridezillas, its the vendors scamming, especially the bridal shops! David's Bridal was actually pleasant and sweet compared to the saleswoman peddling dresses like there selling a used car. I will go elsewhere, maybe back to Olga at La Belle Rev in Bellevue. She is a gem! more

The dress selection at Demetrios is amazing but their service was awful. I had already purchased my wedding dress elsewhere and had a great experience so I know how well this experience can go. I went to Demetrios based on recommendations about their great selection of bridesmaid dresses. The woman helping us was rude and worthless. Luckily I had enough friends their to help each other get dressed and pick out options, while she sat around doing nothing. more

I absolutely loved the dresses there! There were so many different styles to choose from and there were such nice employees! THey were very attentive and sweet! There was also a HUGE selection of bridesmaids too. I was pretty surprised at everything they had. I had the best experience at Brides by Demetrios! The staff was so helpful and they had the most beautiful selection of gowns! I even got to see the discontinued gowns and ended up getting one. It was at an unbelievable price and the most beautiful dress I have ever seen. Pros: Everything! more

This place made my wedding dress shopping horrible. The lady had me almost in tears! We first walk in and give them our budget and she put up her snot nose and told us she will see what she can do. Later on we went into the dressing room and she told me ""these are my dresses I know what I'm doing"" which was annoying to hear. Also trying on dresses they never had the correct lace to tie up the back and she didnt lace it all the way because she didnt want to waste 20 mins! She also kept telling me she knew me and was pushing a dress on me so hard that she almost had me in tears. I could go on from here. I should have listened to my friends and took their advice to not go there. I do not know anyone who had a good experience there. I plan on writing a complaint on this woman because how dare she almost have me in tears because she was pushing a dress on my so hard. Cons: Felt like I was dealing with a car sales man more

I walk in and almost no one is there (which should have told me something) but the front desk tells me to wait while they finish something. After several minutes, I ask if I can just go look at bridesmaid dresses which they reluctantly allow me to do. I find a few dresses and try them on by myself after the attendant abandons me for a larger party which came in. I pick a few that I like and ask if I can have the style numbers so I can discuss them with the bride. They tell me ""no"". Then a manager walks out and tells me that they don't give out numbers and I have to buy a dress on the spot or they won't measure me either. I say politely that I'm not ready to buy a dress yet and they literally escort me back to the lobby to leave. I've never experienced anything like it. Moms Maids and More was 1000x more helpful. I was a little nervous going into Demetrios because I heard they are sometimes rude and snotty. My experience was amazing!!!! Michelle was my attendant and she goes above and beyond any service that I experienced while looking for the perfect gown for my July 2009 wedding. I can not speak for the alteration department, for I am still awaiting my dress to come in, but Michelle gave me her entire attention and made me feel like every bride looking for her perfect gown should feel! She used to be a wedding planner and now helps brides look their most beautiful! She greets with a cheerful smile, asked me some initial questions on what type of dresses appeal to me and then she went up and down the isles and pulled the perfect dresses!! She nailed exactly what I was looking for, the hardest part was deciding which one! She goes into the dressing area with you, helps you into the dresses while the panel of girls you've brought in get to sit and relax, then you are presented to them! This is definately the experience I dreamed of and found my dream dress! Thank you Michelle for your time and help!!!! Before I went to Demetrios I did exactly what you are doing now. I researched every website and dress magazine to find the perfect gown. Every time I found something I loved, it was a Demetrios gown. I got directions and decided to look at the reviews on the customer service. I saw mix reviews on the store. I wanted to find out on my own because there is obviously always two sides to a story, a person who is a princess and can never be pleased might have wrote that bad review. As a bride I know the ""everything is about me"" attitude can turn in to the woman on 27 dresses...Bridezilla. I called and made an appt. The woman was very courteous and even improved the directions, I got from map quest, to make sure I didn't get lost. I was told who'd be my consultant and the length of appointment. She encouraged me to go on their website and pick out a couple I?d like to try on. She said I could bring in the style numbers if I wanted and she could pull those while I looked through the selection. When I arrived I was greeted and I filled out my own file so any dress that I liked could be written down and they would have it on hand for me. She then told me a little about Demetrios and each line. There was a lot more dresses then I thought could be in that store. I didn't feel overwhelmed at all because everyone was willing and ready to help. She helped me in and out of every gown and recommend different accessories that could dress up or down the gown. My favorite part was the huge mirrors and great lighting. You could really see the dress from all angles. I found my favorite dress and made a second appt with her. I decided to have my mom come with me the second time. I got the same consultant she greeted me and already had my dress, veil and shoes waiting for me the dressing room. I was amazed at the customer service I received. I bought my dress and brought my bridesmaid to get dresses there too. I had a wonderful experience. I highly recommend this store!!! As woman who works in the Bridal industry I just want all of the readers out there to take a second and think about these reviews. Who writes them. Bridezillas! When I have a customer, I work my hardest to find the dress that looks the best on them, help them accessories, and do my best to keep track of a brides constantly changing plans, and I watch their orders status. There are always things that happen that are out of my control, especially when you have, literally, 100's of brides to one consultant, and I do my best, but when a bride or one of her family or bridal party members comes into my shop and starts to cuss words that would make a sailor blush and question my proffessionalism and competence, what do they expect from my future repor with them. All the good reveiws on this site are from GOOD PEOPLE. When something unforseen and out of my hands happens, I always try to fix it regardless of the customer. If I get yelled at, I get flustered, if a bride trusts that I'm doing my best, I might go even beyond helping them with the current situation. The girls who work here are generally fresh out of school and earger to help. They don't need to be intimidated by some bride on a power trip and left to think what lucky fiance's they all have. Also, a lot of our brides, on the phone, in person, and online, take a very strong poetic license in order to get more reaction and gratification out of their sob stories. So when you read these negative reviews, keep in mind, these are from people who have nothing better to do then to go online and speak poorly about someone's livley hood and hair color. Going to Demetrios in Bellevue was a nightmare. I had read both the good reviews and bad ones and decided to give it a shot. I first went back in April. I was newly engaged and was hoping to narrow down some gowns to my style, since i had never before put a bridal dress on. My consultant was extremely unprofessional, which was a huge let down. She looked like she has just rolled over out of bed. Her hair was a wierd color orange/red, obviously not brushed or washed, and she wore old beat up slip on shoes. My impression was that she would say anything to get me to buy a gown. The manager was also trying to help my sister and I find some dresses, but was more busy looking in the mirror at her own reflection, and then when i walked past her office, she was sitting in there painting her finger nails. I thought this day was supposed to be about me, but i felt more like the employees were just trying to do as little as possible to help. Maybe it was because it was my first time, and they didnt think i would purchase. Who knows. This experience was not what I had hoped. I love this store!!! I am shocked to see all of the bad reviews, and can say they must have been from some serious bridezillas. I was married last July, and ofcourse was the over paniced bride that wanted everything perfect. And that's exactly what i got.. perfection. I really do have all the girls from Brides by Demetrios to thank! Rochelle, Kim, Leah, Lilly and yes even THE MANAGER Mary. I had a very hectic year and was not sure how i would pull my wedding off, especially with 6 different shape/sized bridesmaids in 4 different states, and getting married on the most popular day of the year to boot. These girls, kept me calm, made me laugh, helped me way above their duties (even going as far as coming in early before store hours when i had forgotten something the morning of my wedding!) and yes.. they even helped me to find ""the perfect dress"". I had such a great experience, that i've sent a sister inlaw, friends, my mother inlaw (you know these girls have to be great for that) and just today my twin, who loved it! . All reconfirming what great staff they have. If you are looking for a cheap $99 dollar dress, then go to davids bridal, but you'll get cheap help as well. If you want high quality for a great price.. My doubts started when we were looking at dresses and my friend, the bride, was told that if we weren't going to try on 'Serious' dresses then we should leave. I can't believe all of the bad reviews on here! I just got married 2 weeks ago and I ordered everything possible from this store, including 2 wedding gowns and dresses for all 10 of my bridesmaids. I worked with the sales consultants many times and every time they made it an easy, fun experience for me. Everything came on time and looking fantastic. The dresses there are all absolutely gorgeous, and when I found that perfect one my sales consultant helped me through the process and made this stressful time very easy. All of my bridesmaids and my mom loved coming to this place. Don't listen to all of the bad reviews. If you're looking for a place that will make this experience as terrific as it was for me, then go to Brides by Demetrios. The staff at Brides by Demetrious , in Bellevue, were eager to sell me my wedding gown and promptly forgot all about customer service after the sale. On the first scheduled fitting I learned that the wrong size dress had been ordered, management offered to cover all of my alterations due to their mistake. Kim, the sales associate helping me assured me that the dress would be rushed to Bellevue in a week or so and that I would have plenty of time for alterations. Two weeks later the dress arrived, but the woman who did alterations would be on vacation for another week. My wedding was less than one month away at this point, I was getting nervous. My first fitting (two weeks before the wedding), was a five minute rush. At the second fitting the woman decided to sew in bra cups and take in the hips more. I was told to return one day before my wedding to pick up the dress. When I arrived to pick up the gown there was no one to help me get into the dress or to check if the final alterations were satisfactory. They were too busy trying to sell more dresses. At this point (one day before the wedding) my only option was to take the dress home. You could see the sewn in breast cups through the material, and the material from the hips was left in the dress, creating a horrible looking seam. I feel cheated every time I look at my wedding photos. Do not buy a dress from this place!!!!! If you do, take the dress some place else for alterations. My best friend got engaged summer of 2006 and made an appointment at Demetrios' Bellevue later that summer. I accompanied my friend to all her visits to here. Her consultant was nice upon our arrival and we proceeded to look for dresses for her to try on and she was given a room to put the dresses in. Putting on the dresses is a tricky task and her sales consultant was nowhere to be seen, so I went to go find someone to help out ended up front. When I asked if someone could help us with getting a dress on, I was met by a middle aged woman with short spikyish hair who said ""Oh, no, you can't try on the dresses unless you have an appointment"" to which my eyebrows probably raised up a bit as I replied ""Actually, we do have an appointment."" My first encounter with the woman who I believe is the manager there. Her dress was ordered and we went back in Jan 2007 to find the bridesmaid dresses. The order was placed for those and when inquiring on the status of when her wedding dress would arrive, was informed late Feb/early Mar. My friend called in the beginning of March, and was told her dress was not yet there, but they would call her as soon as it arrived. Two weeks later, she called again, and was told it still was not there. One week later (and starting to worry) she called again and was told ""Oh, yes, it is here! It just arrived, we were about to call you."" Wow - nearly a month late in arriving. Okay, time for alterations. The lady who did them was a nice middle aged asian woman. If anything, I pitied her having to work under spiky haired manager lady who we heard yelling at the poor woman out in the front. Is there not an office to do that in so you at least can spare a person their dignity and not have your entire clientele in the shop hear you chewing out your staff? Talk about lack of professionalism and respect. Overall, dresses were good, service not so good, prices were okay, and management is HORRIBLE. For my wedding, I will AVOID this place.
