I am the maid of honor in a wedding that just too place yesterday and I have to report our horrible bridesmaid experience! ALL of the girls (there were 5 so this is not a fluke) who were in the wedding had issues with their dresses that used the seamstress at Bridal Belle. First of all, they order your dress about two sizes too big so you HAVE to have your dress taken in. What kind of scam is this? We didn’t know it at the time, as we thought maybe the dresses run small. We all paid good money, $78 or more, to have our dresses hemmed and taken in. The first time you go to retrieve your dress, surprise, surprise they aren’t ready. Either they forgot to hem your dress or they forgot to take you in. When I went to pick my dress on after a second visit, the ladies were almost surprised that I wanted to try mine on and I’m glad I did! When I tried it on I found that my top was not taken in at all. It was like they had actually forgotten to take the dress in. The seamstress’ solution? Sew a button to my dress and my bra and snap me in! I told her I still felt uncomfortable, but they hustled me out the door. I should have stood my ground but at the time I felt like maybe I was making a big deal out of nothing. Fast forward to the day before the wedding with two bridesmaids who had just gotten in to town. They go to pick up their dresses and lo and behold they don’t fit. The tops again were way too loose. They fell completely off the girls’ bodies! Luckily, the “seamstress” was able to work on it the night before and the girls had to pick them up the day of the wedding. Are you kidding me? One girl was completely missing the snap at the back of the dress and we had to use a safety pin so her back wasn’t completely exposed! I ended up calling the store on the day of the wedding to complain on all of our behalf. Celeste, the manager DOES NOT take any responsibility. I explain that I am very unhappy, that the work was shoddy, that we all had issues. She does not apologize, reimburse or do anything more

If you are thinking of getting a dress at this store, I highly recommend you look around. Unfortunately they are unqualified. They suggest sizes that are 2 sizes too big and then charge astronomical amounts to make alterations. Read the fine print in your contracts because the dress is yours even when the seamstress messes it up. No monetary restitution offered. It's unfortunate and terrible business practice. I'm making sure to tell everyone I know not to go there. No other business in the country can survive without being experts in their field, why should they? Oh yeah, because you signed a contract that says employees/owners are only there to give "suggestions." more

I continue to be impressed with Bridal Belle in Rochester, NY. My sister got her wedding dress there and I tried on a lot of maid of honor dresses. The service is so attentive but they also give you the time and space to make a decision. Well appointed dressing rooms give space for the bride to move as well as bridesmaids and mothers to make comments (and wipe tears!) They make everyone feel unique and special and have a wonderful selection. If they don't have a specific dress you had in mind, they'll find it for you! And they help keep the process fun, relaxing and downright enjoyable. They have a good selection of mother of the bride and bridesmaid dresses as well. Make sure to check out their veil collection as well. The prices were amazing...definitely better than anything I can find in NYC. So when it's my time to walk down the aisle, I'll go up to Rochester first and visit Bridal Belle! more

I bought my wedding dress here for a summer 2005 wedding. They had the perfect dress for me, and were very helpful. I thought the prices were much more reasonable than some of the other places in town. I was also very satisfied with the alterations that were done to my dress (just hemming.) Everything was ready when promised. more
