Brevard Zoo

The Brevard zoo is pretty impressive for such a small area. It's the only all volunteer build zoo in the US, which is something commendable. I like that everything is outside, and you can get right up close to the animals... I like the trails and paths that are like corridors thoughout the zoo... great for having small children, cause they can't wander off as easily in bigger mega zoo's. The giraffe exhibit is the best, and being able to feed them is always a hit. Get a year family pass and you can enter earlier in the morning and be done before the busloads of kids arrive! more

The Brevard Zoo is a wonderful place to spend the day. It continues to grow and is nice to walk through as there are a lot of shade trees. The giraffe exhibit is amazing and you can actually feed the giraffes special wafers that you purchase at the exhibit. My kids love to feed the giraffes! The train at the zoo is also fun for the kids. It's a short trip and the conductor explains many interesting facts about the zoo and its animals. The admission price is reasonable and you can buy a family pass which also gives discounted/free admission to other zoo and discounts on merchandise from the gift shop. Great place to spend the day! more

I like this zoo. It is clean, the people who work there are friendly, I took my daughter there the other day and they let me daughter feed and pet the Emu's and it is inexpensive. There are a lot of different animals there and they also have some nice exhibits going on. Plus is shaded from the sun which is always a plus. more

I love going to this zoo. It is constantly growing. They have a nice array of animals and you are even able to feed the giraffes which I thought was neat and my daughter loved. They had a petting zoo but we did not stop at it. It is very clean and absolutely a nice place to have a family outing! more

Brevard Zoo is always growing. Nice, clean, friendly. The animals are well cared for and loved, the environment is gorgeous. It's not too far from anyplace in Brevard County and is right off of the I-95 exit, so you can not miss it. They offer excellent year passes with nice family rates. more

Brevard zoo is a great place for the family to visit on a nice day. They have plenty of different animals and they also have special nights for members. My favorite exhibit there are the spider monkeys. The only thing I do not enjoy is the heat but that is the nature of Florida's weather. When it is hot out though a lot of the bigger animals are hiding in the shade and are not viewable most times. If you get a chance to go try going in cooler weather and you will probably see more of the bigger animals. more

This zoo has it all. The atmosphere is clean, well kept, and just beautiful. They keep adding more and more to this place. The admission prices are very reasonable, and the staff is great. I love that you can feed the giraffes, the train ride is loads of fun for everyone in the family, my son loves it! The kayak rides are great fun as well. Parking is adequate, the location is convenient, and the hours are good. They have special events all the time that are fun for the whole family. Annual passes are very affordable too. There is a nice gift shop, a clean snack bar area, and it's never hard to find someone if you want to ask some questions. They do camps in the summer for kids too. more

The Brevard Zoo has come a long way. What started as a small zoo has now progressed to a very nice place to go. Children of course love it, and it's a very pleasant way to spend the day. There are walkways all throughout and it winds through into all the themed areas. The aviary is my favorite place where you are inside with the birds in their environment. Many are tame and will come and sit on your arm or shoulder, one likes popsicles so beware! I shared mine. The otters are a favorite and so cute to watch them swim. It's fun to watch them at feeding time. There is a train the kids can take to tour the back areas of the park and you can also take a Kayak trip with a guide through the wetlands. Season passes are available and very reasonable. Nice gift shop and the coolest place on the premises. A nice petting zoo and play ground area for the kids. This is a favorite for school trips. more
