We were there this past Saturday, September 13th. It was horribly hot and humid. We were planning on eating across the street, but the wait was too long. We decided to stop at ...

Cozy 4/16/2006

Brandt’s has such a nice, cozy atmosphere, though it’s not intimate….your neighbor’s table is practically right on top of yours and you have to stick your butt right in their plate of food if you want to have any hope of getting out of your chair to leave the establishment. The lights are dim, live music softly plays in the background….it’s a great setting for some cheesecake and foo-foo drink. more

Brandts 4/7/2006

Brandts is one of my favorites on the Delmar loop. The food is really good and not overly priced, the atmosphere is fun and eclectic but comfortable too. They’ve got great jazz musicians that come in and play too. Its also on of the ones on Delmar with outside seating which is so great in the springtime. more

Great food, but can get loud 3/26/2006

Just like most of the places on Delmar, Brandt's is a live music venue. Beware that on Fridays or Saturdays your quiet dinner might be punctuated with jazz or a small band. Its great, but hard to talk over. The food however is great. They have vegetarian dishes (wow, what a concept), and great specials. I had a wonderful vegetable strussel type dish (it was like a fresh veggie pot pie with no cream sauce or anything to muck up the flavours) with asparagus and portabello mushrooms on the side and it was the best special I think I've had. They have okay pasta, and even gyros and black bean chili. My husband has had a great gyro and a few of their pasta dishes. more

A Quiet Meal on the Loop 8/17/2005

Brandt’s small restaurant is connected to their equally small restaurant for upscale food and wine. The food is very well prepared and a pleasant atmosphere would imply much more expensive prices than you’ll actually see. If you’re looking for a quiet and easy dinner on the loop, this is the place to go! more

The different faces of Brandt's 8/17/2005

By day, Brandt's is a bustling market and bistro. By the evening, the atmosphere is more relaxed. Late evening, the cafe livens up with live performances of jazz, blues, pop, folk, rock and classical music. Food is eclectic in nature and combines various ethnic ingredients into something that works. At night, people go mainly for the live talent depending on the performer. Gets very crowded with popular performers as you can imagine. more
