Boulder Mountain Repair

These guys just have such a bad attitude. They arbitrarily won't repair certain items for seemingly no reason and they are rude about it. If you enjoy being belittled and told your gear isn't worth repairing then, by all means, enjoy. I also have a friend who took some of her pants here and the job they did was incredibly messy for being so full of themselves. I'll never set foot in the place again. more

So nice to have a sewing repair shop back in Boulder. Just had all my summer gear washed and packs fixed. Time for winter gear. more

These guys are pathetic. The owner obviously flags negative reviews, but I'll keep at it. I had a brand new jacket that had a main zipper failure. The manufacturer is a small company that sold out that model, so they couldn't replace it under warranty. They had me send it to BMR for a zipper replacement. It was sent back quickly, but that is the only thing they did right. First they replaced the nice waterproof zipper with a cheap shoddy big toothed thing that belongs on a duffel bag. Then they returned it with food stains on it and a note that said "sorry, we'll replace". On top of that the zipper was sewn in horribly, with stitching all over the place and folds of material sewn together. When I called the owner of the shop to discuss the offer of replacement, he just freaked out and ended up slamming the phone down. Fortunately the jacket manufacturer is replacing the jacket with a new one due to BMR's total incompetence. DON'T TRUST THESE PEOPLE WITH YOUR EXPENSIVE OUTDOOR GEAR! more

I don’t know of any other place like this in Boulder, otherwise I might check them out to compare their pricing, but Boulder Mountain Repair seems the only game in town. It’s a sew shop. Take your ripped fleece or jacket to them, and they’ll fix it. It’s a great service, though I wonder about the ability to pay the rent doing that sort of thing (file under “only in Boulder”). I took a Mountain Smith bag there and had them replace the zipper. Ten bucks. Fast turn around. more
