Boston Rocks is a Huge Disappointment 11/16/2007

Tonight I had the worst experience I have ever had while at a club, which happened to be at Boston Rocks. A friend and I ventured out to have a good time dancing and headed to Boston Rocks, which I frequented many times while in college (which was only 2 years ago I might add). Many memories were made here, including helping two friends, who worked there, hand out promotional flyers and meet people outside. In any case, my friend and I checked our coats, and made our way through the crowd to find an open space. Several times I was groped, grabbed and called demeaning names by both younger and older males. Feeling very uncomfortable, I immediately retrieved my coat and asked the cashier if I could please have a refund. She said this would not be possible and that she was unable to help us. I also voiced my concerns to the man checking ID's, to which he replied, "You should just walk away from it." I asked if I could speak with the manager and he vaguely pointed in the direction of the bar. I finally was pointed in the right direction and told the manager that I was made to feel uncomfortable by several males in the room, and since this had happened immediately I felt it was reasonable to be issued a refund. He turned to ask the cashier and security/ID man how long I had been there, and I was shocked when the man told him 45 minutes! We were there a MAXIMUM of 10 minutes, which including checking our coats, walking across the room and being sexually harassed. I expressed my concern that he was not concerned about our safety, and was willing to believe the lies of his employees to save $20.00. He reluctantly agreed to "meet me halfway" and I walked out with $10.00 and a bucket full of tears. I am writing this in hopes that young ladies who place value on respect, dignity, and above all SAFETY, will not waste their time at Boston Rocks. Pros: Great Music, Location Cons: Management, Service, Safety more

Amazing place 6/19/2007

I keep finding myself going back to this place, no matter how many times I've been. Besides having surprise proffesional DJ's & Hip Hop artists there on a regular basis, they make great drinks and have a really hot, really hard working and friendly staff. The layout of the place is pretty modern too. Black leather couches, and a cool DJ booth that hangs above the dancefloor. The bathrooms are huge, so you never have to wait in line, and they are always clean. The music is always an amazing mix of Hip Hop, Top 40, Techno and 80's hits. Also, this bar is connected to the best comedy club in Boston, and performers frequent the place after they're done with their stand-up. Bill Bellamy came over last time I was there. The only downside is that it is really dark and can get really crowded, but you're having such a good time that you'll barely notice! *Another plus for this place...I've never seen a fight break out here! Rare for a bar in Boston! Pros: Great music. Great staff . Clean bathrooms! Cons: Can get pretty crowded. Sometimes long wait for drinks. more
