Tonight I had the worst experience I have ever had while at a club, which happened to be at Boston Rocks. A friend and I ventured out to have a good time dancing and headed to Boston Rocks, which I frequented many times while in college (which was only 2 years ago I might add). Many memories were made here, including helping two friends, who worked there, hand out promotional flyers and meet people outside. In any case, my friend and I checked our coats, and made our way through the crowd to find an open space. Several times I was groped, grabbed and called demeaning names by both younger and older males. Feeling very uncomfortable, I immediately retrieved my coat and asked the cashier if I could please have a refund. She said this would not be possible and that she was unable to help us. I also voiced my concerns to the man checking ID's, to which he replied, "You should just walk away from it." I asked if I could speak with the manager and he vaguely pointed in the direction of the bar. I finally was pointed in the right direction and told the manager that I was made to feel uncomfortable by several males in the room, and since this had happened immediately I felt it was reasonable to be issued a refund. He turned to ask the cashier and security/ID man how long I had been there, and I was shocked when the man told him 45 minutes! We were there a MAXIMUM of 10 minutes, which including checking our coats, walking across the room and being sexually harassed. I expressed my concern that he was not concerned about our safety, and was willing to believe the lies of his employees to save $20.00. He reluctantly agreed to "meet me halfway" and I walked out with $10.00 and a bucket full of tears.
I am writing this in hopes that young ladies who place value on respect, dignity, and above all SAFETY, will not waste their time at Boston Rocks.
Pros: Great Music, Location
Cons: Management, Service, Safety
