The Front Office needs Meds 12/10/2008

Dr. Bosquez is excellent and has helped my 5 year old daughter tremendously. However, the front office staff is very unprofessional and I can no longer take it. If you expect good customer service, please go elsewhere. Please know this....a prescription can take up to 3 days to fill and you will have to pay the office $10 for it. I really hope that Dr. Bosquez reads this and takes into consideration the running of the office. Dr. Bosquez thanks for helping my daughter. Pros: Excellent Dr. Cons: Office staff needs much improvement. more

Knowledgable, kind doctor -- Poor Office Staff 10/4/2007

I've been a patient of Dr. Bosquez's for a couple years, and really like her. In fact, I was surprised that some reviewers posted such negative comments about her. She was highly recommended to me by my favorite doctor.\r \r The girls at the front desk, on the other hand, leave much to be desired. They are the reason I didn't give the practice a 5-star rating. They rarely answer the phone (9 out of 10 times maybe), don't return messages in a timely manner, don't give any kind of appt. reminder (i.e., phone calls, email, whatever) but have no problem charging for a missed appt., and just come across as rude (short answers, not accommodating or helpful). They just aren't what you would expect in a professional office--cute doesn't cut it!\r \r One more thing about the front office experience that is really irritating. You walk in the office, and you are in the middle of the waiting room. The front desk is actally an opaque window in the wall. Seriously, you have to stand in front of the window, and hope that they can see you from the other side, because you sure as hell can't see what going on through the glass. C'mon, if you need the window, at least make it clear! \r \r A couple more comments...\r You actually have to PAY for a prescription if you don't have an appt. (even if the Dr. tells you to pick it up between appts.) $10 is not a lot, but I've never experienced this at other offices. Also, it can ""take up to 72 hours to process a prescription request.""\r \r SO, if you are prepared to put up with the generally crappy customer service to see a great doctor, this is the place to go. Dr. Bosquez IS a great doctor, and in my opinion, definitely worth the headache. Pros: Great doctor Cons: Office staff, crappy waiting area, can't bring your kids more

Lourdes Bosquez may have saved my life! 9/15/2007

Lourdes Bosquez did for me in two weeks what two primary doctors, sleep doctors, ENT's, cardiologist, etc.... couldn't do for the last 7 years. I am so happy that I took control and made an appointment with a psychiatrist and picked her. She took the time to listen and diagnosed my condition with confidence and has since worked with me to modify medications. The entire experience in her office, from the cute and educated assistants check in to check out, is a pleasure. Thanks for making the Woodlands your Home! Pros: Great Office Location. Cute Staff :-) Cons: Normal doctor office wait time, but easy to get over if everything else is perfect. more

Another View 8/22/2007

Recently I had the opporunity to deal with this doctor. My first impression was that some of the past negative reviews might have been a bit harsh, so I continued to give her the benefit of a doubt. Now I have experienced some of what the other negative writers mentioned and do have to agree with some of the comments.\r \r I do not have the credentials to rate her actual medical skills and she in fact might be very bright. HOWEVER, her practice is NOT run in the manner I am acustomed to with my other medical doctors!! This one seems disorganized and poorly run. The hours posted are NOT always the hours the office is open, they seldom answer phone and seem to screen calls by using voice mail. They claim they are not a PPO and then charge more than they are allowed to for services, but according to the insurance company, they ARE a PPO and have to follow the contract rates. Basically, she might be a fine doctor but her staff is lacking in proper office skills, which translates to the patients NOT being fully informed of when they need to return, no reminder calls or emails for appointments weeks int the future etc... \r \r Additionally, there is at times, a serious and challenging communications gap or there is a listening problem on that side of the fence, I have yet to fully figure out which or if it is a combination of both.\r \r She might suit some people and personalities well. I on the other hand do not suffer a poorly run operation or in being spoken to as if I am stupid, just because I am a patient very well!!!\r \r SO in the end she is not for me, and I have chosen another doctor. Go in with your eyes wide open and make sure you check the fine details such as your insurance payment requirements, appointments etc!!! Pros: Few Cons: Poorly run office, communications problem since English is a second language, haughty at times. more

Careless rather then careful....... 8/20/2007

This doctor carelessly dispenses medication without regaurd for that person, or taking in to consideration the danger of prescribing medication without the proper info............ Pros: none that I am aware of Cons: arrogence and late more

Very good Doctor 8/17/2007

I don't usually do reviews but I hate to see a good doctor maligned in print. No one really loves going to a psychiatrist because that means you have a problem that needs to be treated but if you have to go I highly recommend Dr. Bosquez. She is not arrogant in fact he is just the opposite. She is kind hearted, friendly and always professional. It is so much easier to talk to her then the other Psychiatrist that was treating my son and she makes it easy to communicate with her. Not long ago, my son had a crisis and I contact her at 4 AM and she responded within 10 minutes and then, she contacted the ER doctor right away. Then when she saw my son at her office, she spend half an hour more then what my insurance would pay (didn't pay more then my copayment) and I know this anger a patient that was in a hurry because I heard him, but this things happen with doctors and emergencies. Another time I called her because I had medication question and she called me back in 15 minutes. Unfortunately psychiatric medications react differently in everyone so you usually have to try several medications before you get the right med and right dosage. We were lucky and the second med she prescribed my son really helped him but I know from prior experiece that sometimes you have to try many medications before you get the right one. This has nothing to do with how good the doctor is. This doctor is bright, energetic and very easy to talk to about what is going on in your life. If you need a psychiatrist call her! You will be so happy you did. Lets keep in mind that in a psychiatry office sometimes you will find moody people that will find a problem with everything in the world, some are angry and wil blame anyone about their own problems.\r Pros: Doctor's personality, nice office staff and easy parking\r Con: It's a very busy practice and sometimes you might have to way a little while. Pros: Compassionate and very professional Cons: Very busy practice more

poor nieve people... 6/20/2007

First of all, the first day I went to her I waited an eternity in the waiting room, and when they finally took me back I waited another 40 minutes until she came in, didn't introduce herself.. I had no idea who she was. I must add she was also very pushy. I know first hand that she doesn't monitor medicine that she so carelessly gives out like other people have said. When I needed to get off the medication she gave me because it was a seizure medicine (its like she picks a type of pill out of a hat to give to people) which is far off from what I needed, I asked her how I should do this and her response ""Do it however you want"" Um excuse me? being a doctor and all shouldn't she tell me how? or maybe she is clueless herself? I had to take a class over at Texas A&M (which for those who don't know, ONE class is about $900-$1000) because of her. She prescribed me medication that was unnecessary but obviously she believes that isn't her problem, and it made me so sick. When I was trying to come off of the medicine she prescribed to me, I couldn't get out of bed for two weeks because it just poisoned my body. I missed class and I wouldn't of had to take it over but she decided to not return my phone calls or my professor's phone calls just to confirm my illness from medication which lead to my absences. If you have any self respect and honestly want help then don't go to her, I promise there are many more well suited psychiatrists out there that can help you. Oh, and another doctor I was going to read the assessment she wrote up for me to give to my professor (which she forgot to do so I didn't get it till it was too late.. again, theres another act of selfishness) and they said they can't see how Bousquez mangaged to acquire a PHD with her low language proficiency and her child-like writing skills. Cons: everything you can think of more

She is horrible, over medicates, does not care about patients 4/12/2007

When I first went to see her, not only did I have to wait an hour, but when she came in to the room I was in, she did not even introduce herself so I didn't even know she was the doctor. She was not compassionate, friendly, nor caring but seemed to just want to give me some kind of prescription for meds and then leave to her next patient. Overtime she just kept giving me more and more medicine and when I finally switched to another doctor who is TOTALLY better, could not believe she never gave me a bloodtest. Lourdes will NEVER return your calls, when we called to ask how to start to get myself off the medicine she gave me because we finally realized I did not need it, she said: ""Just start reducing the medicine however you want"". What kind of doctor says that? Please believe me, she is a HORRIBLE DOCTOR, I honostly do not believe how she got a Phd. I have never met a less considerate person.. and to think, she works with kids? She over medicated me and I did not know that until I finally got away from her and to another doctor who proved my medications were way off key. I do not recommend her whatsoever, whatever the case may be.. seek another doctor because if you go to her your wasting your money and I absolutely guarantee that. Pros: None, I am so thankful I will never have to see her again Cons: Everything you can think of, and if your appt. is at say for ex: 1:00pm.. she wont see you until 2:00pm more

Best Psychiatrist in town! 4/3/2007

I see unusual comments here. Dr. Bosquez has treated my daughter for a few years now and since her treatment started, she does very well in school and her treatment is very well. I know Dr. Bosquez rans late sometimes, but all I can say is that twice before, we had an emergency and my insurance would only cover 15 minute visits and Dr. Bosquez spend over an hour with my daughter, and I know she did not get paid for that extended crisis intervention visit nor did she ask me to pay more then my copayment. At least my experience is very different then the other comments and it really surprises me because in the lobby I heard comments all the time and some of these people are very happy, specially the ones that consulted with other physicians until Dr. Bosquez was the one that was able to properly provide the proper diagnostic for these patients. I highly recommend Dr. Bosquez. more

stay away... go to UT in the med center! 3/28/2007

We completely agree with the above review of DR Bosquez! She & her staff are rude & her qualifications should be questioned. Instead of finding the root of my daughter's condition or researching more about something she obviously did not understand, she quickly advised an aggressive dosing of RX with increasing dosage each month. Meanwhile, we conducted our own research and traveled to workshops on the condition. The fact that our daughter was so young (I'll just say she was not in primary school yet) did not persuade her from her aggressive perscription or its increasing dosage. An out of state expert leading the nation in our daughter's condition stated that she seems to equal the worst performance level of the thousand mental professionals she tutors in her specialty! Although Houston choices are very limited and Individual Market Health Insurance coverage for mental needs is terrible in Texas, we are pleased with the services offered at UT in the med center downtown. Teams of students, residents, and fellows are supervised by top quality professionals interacting both medical sciences. The cost is lower and the service is much higher! Although the counselors and physicians dont have years of experience, they have completed a majority of their study, with most having their md/phd and are working their residency requirements or even a fellowship. The faculty staff are obviously much more qualified than a ""WRITE A SCRIPT AND GET OUT"" scam and are always directly involved. We feel at ease to have more than one view and respect any informed opinions on our daughter's progress, regardless of which step they are at. The faculty also is missing the ""god simplex"" many for- profit offices have (we have interviewed six). This allows a liberal view for opnion and a careful approach to medication, although still encouraged. Our daughters has gradually been stepped down to a lower, safer dosage and the input from the leading specialist we are convinced of is even respected! Pros: The Woodlands shopping! Cons: take my script and get out! more

IF YOU SEE THIS DOCTOR RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION! 2/12/2007

IF YOU SEE THIS DOCTOR RUN IN THE OTHER DIRECTION! \r I would not even send my enemy to this physician! She tries to prescribe too many unnecessary medications, and does so without regard for what's formulary / covered under your insurance plan. She is not attentive to the patient's needs. She is rude, arrogant, and conceited. She does not spend enough time with each patient; it seems as though she rushes through your visit just to be able to record that she saw you in order to collect her fee. She makes you reschedule your appointment if you're 10 minutes late due to traffic. She charges you if you forget or miss an appointment, as well as if you lose your prescription and require a copy of it. She has a lousy bedside manner; she speaks to you as if you are beneath her because you are seeking counsel or assistance. Pros: The Woodlands is a nice place to visit for lunch Cons: Located in a run down office strip that shares limited parking. Everything about this Dr. is a Con! more
