It isn't often you find such a place in New York devoid of the usual snobishness that accompanies a classy establishment. However, from the moment you enter Borja's Studio you are warmly greeted by everyone from the receptionist all the way through to Borja herself. I personally went in for corrective coloring due to previous salon disasters and found Borja because she employs a innovative technique- she does not use foil and her color products are ammonia free which is solely responsible for my hair regaining it's original blonde color that so many salon's tainted. Also her prices are extremely fair when considering the extraordinary service she provides. I highly recommend her salon it is unlike any other I have found in Manhattan, and anyone who says different probably hasn't ever been. Don't Go! 9/11/2005

Just terrible. Expensive - horrible color. I went in asking for blonde (it was blonde already and I am dark blonde anyway...) and I came out with orangeish/red, lab bunny experiment hair. It was as expensive as any of the good places in the city and miserable service. I went back, asking for a redo, and was told this was ""the look"". Never again. I had to pay $300 in corrective color to fix it at another salon! more

From rags to riches 2/21/2005

The service was extrodinary from the receptionist who greeted me with a smile to the skilled colorists, make-up artist and hair stylists. As per my hair, the corrective color process that I went in for excluded many harsh chemicals used at other salons, Borja's technique of using non-amonnia based products allow me to recieve the color i was looking for with the unnessesary damage i would have recieved at any other salon. Her technique of ""painting on"" highlights allows for the streak to reach down further in the roots which saves me the time from geating touch ups every few weeks. Don't think that my going to a big name salon you'll get that big name stylist, come find out Borja's true, indiviual talent at her salon, where she will personally attend to your every need. Excellent Service Consistently 1/9/2005

I have been going here for two years. I have changed the shade of my hair a couple of times and always with great results. The service is consistently excellent here. The atmosphere is unpretentious, relaxed yet sophisticated (plenty of great magazines and wine to drink while you peruse them). Danka, Borja's sister, colors my hair and Borja cuts it. I am a very satisfied customer! more

The best of New York 11/1/2004

I was walking along 57th St. during one of my frequent trips to New York. Window shopping on 57th St. is always one of my treats, especially since I'm continually on the lookout for new art galleries. I happened to notice in second floor window a sign for Borja Color Studio and decided it was time to fulfill a long time wish to have my hair ""tuned"" by a top New York hair colorist. I couldn't imaging the skills of Borja, who did my hair. My new look (haircut and highlights) took years off my age. When I returned home my wife at first called my extravaganza a mid-life crisis. The reason I'm saying this is that on our next trip to New York together she made a bee-line to Borja Color Studio and has become Borja's steady client ever since. The Place to Go 3/28/2004

Recently, my hair was colored and high-lighted at Borja Color Studio. The outstanding service, hospitality and (most of all) results that I received will certainly bring me back to Borja Color Studio in the near future for my next hair coloring. Being overly concerned with my appearance on stage, it is mandatory for the color of my hair to be ""just right"" for the lights. One word for anyone interested in Borja Color Studio: perfection. I came by recommendation and WOW! Great atmosphere, and superior skill Borja(owner) has! My hair was a mess and I needed corrective color, the salon I went to before destroyed my hair, but as I left the salon Borja made my hair look healthier, fresh, and back to is beauty.
