Borders Books Music Movies & Cafe

Every year I go to Border's Bookstore to find neat items for my grandchildren for Christmas. The store in Tulsa has a wonderful section of children's books and fun learning products. So far this year, I found a kit for building and erupting your own volcano, a Mandala Sand Art kit and a Big Bubbles kit that helps kids create gigantic bubbles. I also was able to purchase the new John Grissom book, Innocent Man, for 40% off with a coupon I received for being a Border's Bookstore member. The gifts I purchased for my grandkids were all very reasonably priced. I really appreciate the prices and that I am able to find items that aren't found in every discount store in town. I could spend hours in their store, leafing through tons of books that I would like to read, looking over their great selection of music, and of course, wandering through their children's section to find gifts. The only drawback to the store is their location. It is on 21st street in Tulsa and the parking lot is scary pulling in to when you have so much traffic to avoid (making a left hand turn across the lanes). That part of Tulsa always has so much traffic with so many people in such a hurry. Once you get inside the store, however, you are able to drown out the sounds of vehicles, relax in their cafe with a good latte, and easily get lost in a good book. more

You can't beat this place. I have found that this Borders (with two stories to boot!) has THE best selection of non-fiction books. They have a great history and psychology section as well as plenty of other non-fiction sections. Barnes & Noble seems to focus more on magazine and fiction. This bookstore is also great because of the coffee shop and the friendly staff. They used to sell Joseph Schmidt chocolate but I haven't seen it there in some time. I love going to this bookstore on date night, we both always find something we want. Another tip - get on their email mailing list, they will often email you an coupon good for anywhere from 15 to 30% off one book. Good way to justify a visit to them!!! more

I love this book store and the cafe in it! I think it is really nice you can get music DVDs books all in one store. Of course everytime I have been in I have been looking for a special book and the workers have always been more than willing to help me find it. You can also order online and pick up at the store. The store is always also very clean and parking is good also. more

Most big bookstore chains are similar... row after row of books, nice music, a coffee shop, and a comfy leather chair that's ALWAYS taken. The one at 21st and the BA Expressway is a step above. It's 2 story, which adds to it's cozyness (you don't feel like you're in a warehouse). The coffeeship has ample seating, including leather chairs. The music area upstairs has more headsets to listen to music than the other stores do. And I can ALWAYS find one of those big leather chairs to curl up in... they have more than any store in Tulsa that I know of. I've also found that the coffee shop people are super nice... not at all afraid to give you a larger size for the same price, or throw in a cookie for free. Of course, they also know I'll leave them a nice tip... that may have something to do with it. It's also convenient... right off the BA expressway. Try Border's coffee rather than Starbucks next time you're on the way to work. There's almost no standing in line waiting! more

This store is one of my favorite book stores. They sell latest books, novels, music, movies. The customer service is awesome. One time, I tried to find a psychology book by using computer database. But there was something wrong with the computer. So I ask a customer service to help me. They are really friendly and knowledgeable. I can find the book quickly and check out right away. Also, they have cafe corner that you can enjoy yourself reading the book and relax as long as you want. I highly recommend this store because I enjoy reading book there a lot. I bet you enjoy this too. more
