perfect for family day 12/7/2008

Bring your kids- they will love it, mine did. My son was jumping up and down saying ""howdy partner"" all day. It was so adorable. We bought him a pop gun and with the shows he was having a great time. He wanted to go on a horseback ride but they told uss he was to young. Next year he turns 6 and he will get one for his birthday. If you have kids try this place, they will probably love it as much as mine did. Pros: lots of things for the kids Cons: my son didn't want to leave more

quaint rooms with great views 12/7/2008

My husband and I stayed in their American Indian Room. It was pretty cool. They had Artifacts hanging on the walls. The luv tube was really nice. There was even another tube in the bathroom. That one I made my husband use. the juzzi was for me:) now the views are beautiful. From our front door we could see a horse pasture with mountians in the background. It was awesome and from the patio we saw the red rock mountians which are always a beautiful sight. The staff was very nice and helpfull (when I need extra things). I would recommend this place to anyone who would like to get out of Vegas but can't go far, or stay away for to long. Pros: In the middle of nowhwere Cons: no cable tv more

Alternative to the Strip 11/28/2008

This place is awesome. If you just want to get away from the hustle and bussel of Las Vegas, Bonnie Springs Ranch is a fun and exciting place to go. Admission was only $20 for for my whole family (there is six of us). As soon as we walked into the Old Town we saw a gunfight. There was also a hanging and a comedy show. The kids loved it, particularly the boys. Now the girls loved the duck and turtle pond, and the zoo. Don't forget to check out the zoo. Then we had a great lunch in their restaurant (I tried the buffalo burger). After that I took the family on a horseback ride. I can't even describe how beautiful it was, you'll just have to check it out yourselves. more

This place needs a complete facelift!! 4/20/2006

The website is decieving. This place reminds one of a trip back in time 30 years to possibly Old Mexico and a bordella! The office staff is nice, but the rooms are very dated. The building needs paint and lots of TLC. The junk cars out back could stand to leave also! They've got their staff living in part of the place, and a couple of obviously intoxicated men were roaming around the premesis late at night. One definately did not feel safe! A little attention to catching up to the rest of the service industry is definately in order if they wish to attract a decent clientel. more

Great place! 9/10/2005

I love going here and I am an adult. They have a huge petting zoo and lots of different animals. I like the horses available for horseback riding. The old west shows are fun to watch. The train ride around the park is free and fun. I have always had a great time coming up here. more

great tourist spot 8/11/2005

whether your an out-of-towner, or a vegas native this spot is out of this world. attractions including; a petting zoo (with food on site for you to feed the animals), train ride around the whole park, and cowboy gun shows to just name a few. they also have hystoric nevada artifacts dating back to the early 1800's, and plenty of shops to buy souvenirs. PROS: very scenic CONS: more

Visit the Old West 8/10/2005

I found this place to be very charming. It reminds me of Knots Berry Farm in Las Angeles. There is a small western town with different shops to visit. They have a petting zoo with a variety of animals in cages and out of cages. They have a very nice club house with food and a bar. It has a fireplace you can sit around in the winter time with your drinks. Children are allowed in the club house. They have horses to rent and ride. There are shows that are put on at different times of the day including a staged gunfight. The parking is good. You can park close to the town or ride a small railroad train that takes you from an outside parking lot to the town's entrance. The kids love that. It cost $10 to get in and whatever else you spend on food and gifts. Great place for the family. It is outside of Vegas near the mountains and the views are awsome. more

Nice getaway without gambling 8/10/2005

Believe it or not, this is a relaxing place to stay overnight. Small, but unique in its own way, it give you something to do rather than gamble. The rooms are large and are all themed, from western to tropical. You chose which one you want. Prices for themed rooms are around $120 for the night. Which includes a morning horse back ride with a guide and a free breakfast afterwards in their restaurant. Also surrounding the motel is their park with animals and western shoot-out shows that are free to the ones staying the night, gift shops etc. Granted, this is not the Ritz Carlton in no way, but a nice change from the typical "strip" and casino hotels with smoky areas and machines wanting to take your money. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable time. The restaurant for supper is a little pricy. more

Take a Trip to the Old West 7/28/2005

Take a trip out to Bonnie Springs ranch for a trip to the old west. It is located outside of Las vegas in the Red Rock Canyon area. It is very scenic and there is something for everybody. Horseback riding, a saloon, an old time picture studio, a petting zoo, a childs train ride and lots of shopping. Wear comfortable shoes and come on out to the old west! more

Lots of fun in "Old Nevada" 7/28/2005

Bonnie Springs is a great place to bring the kids. The petting zoo is always a lot of fun. Living in Las Vegas, there are not a lot of places one could go and get up close to any animals, so this gives people a chance to interact with them. There is a themed hotel here with rooms made up in different western themes. The gunfight and show put on is always fun to watch, and my daughter loves feeding the ducks! more

Went during the off season 7/27/2005

Was not crowded at all and the staff was glad to see someone there. The shows and shops were fun to romp around in. The animals seemed well cared for. Don't think it would be as much fun with crowds and heat. more

Wild Wild West 7/15/2005

Bonnie Springs is a great adventure for the family. You can ride on an old train, watch a gunfight -- which is part of a wild west show, ride a horse, go to the petting zoo and watch some of the animals in their cages. You can eat at the restaurant and sit near the picture window to watch the ducks. You can take home souvenirs. PROS: Fun for all ages. Inexpensive. CONS: 1/2 an hour from Las Vegas. You'll need a car or shuttle. more

Fun For All 7/6/2005

This wonderfull place will make your kids happy. Rustic old western town (with melodrama ) , petting zoo, train ride, neat restaurant (try the Wrangler breakfast ) make for a delightfull day. They have alot of attraction's that the kids love, and enough to satisfy adults as well. The only downfall is the drive out there. The heat is quite overwhelming,so make sure you bring plenty of fluid's for the trip and make sure your car's air conditioner is in good condition. more
