Editorial review from GrubHub 1/30/2013

Delivery was timely and the food was still warm. However, it was NOT the taste experience I expected. I ordered the Texas Link lunch special. I was seriously disappointed. I got a sliced link sausage; cut into bite sized pieces, accompanied by a spoonful of cole slaw, and a few pickle slices. Though the link was a bit spicey and had a slight snap, the slicing should have been left to the consumer. I wanted the regular Link plate, but according to the menu, it was unavailable, due to a shortage -- lol - my student ordered the Southern Fried chicken lunch special, with a salad. A thigh and a wing, a slice of corn bread and of course, the salad. My student complained about the portion size and was overall, mildly satisfied. There are many other choices here in the city, which I will consider before ever looking at this place again. Portion sizes are really just kid sized. more

Avoid 6/6/2011

I just recently went to Bone Lick and was very disappointed. Service was dreadful and the food really didn't make up for it. I enjoy Virgils, Dinosaur and Wildwood amongst others. This place wasn't even close. Keep walking, you aren't missing anything. more

best B B Q 3/1/2011

We were a group of 12 . and we were looking for a cool not expensive place to go to . somebody suggested Bone Lick B B Q , the place was busy, we had to wait few minutes but it was worth it the food was very good most of us had ribs that were tender and moist the mac& cheese was delicious, the beet salad was also very good (that's what my friend had ) the 3.50 margaritas nothing can beat that . love the dessert the coca cola cake what a great idea. overall loved the atmosphere , service was very good. Love it more

Unbelievable.. 2/28/2011

We were there for Wed Karaoke for my friends birthday. Great inexpensive drinks, great apps. We didn't have a full dinner but everything we did have was great. Friendly service and great karoake dj. Afterwards we went to the Meat Packing District and found basically the same drinks at 4 times the price. Great place to go FIRST. We were told about there brunch with unlimited drinks so we will be back very soon for that and a return to KARAOKE. more

Great Burgers and Great Atmosphere! 10/19/2010

Upon entering the restaurant I was greeted by the friendly staff, and even the owner! My waiter treated me nicely, not to mention I got my drinks shortly after I ordered them. For the food, the portions were big and cooked perfectly. The burger was my favorite part, it was juicy and simply melted in my mouth, it was so yummy!! The atmosphere is great, especially on sunday brunches when drinks are unlimited for an hour! Must check this place out!!! Love it. more

great service and great brunch 10/19/2010

was there last weekend for Brunch and sat outside with 3 friends, unlimited drinks for 1 hour but they did not charge us for an extra drink after that hour, big portions on the food side. loved the eggs benedict . I had it with salmon. My friend had a veggie burger which was very good, the waiter was realy nice and considering that the place was packed he delivered the drinks and the food a.s.a.p.,great crowd. we ended making some new friends , friendly crowd. We will be back. more

Great 30th birthday dinner 10/18/2010

My friends booked an area in BL for 30 people for my 30th birthday. Considering normal mayhem trying to serve 30 people at the same time it was done very well. (I am a waiter so I know). Drinks were surprisingly strong considering the inexpensive prices, $3.50 for the margaritas & mojitos. We will be back for both small and large groups. Great ribs more

secret ingredient roach or fruitfly 5/2/2010

okay so i was one of the10 friends lady d was with on the unfortunate day i fell out of favor with bone lick park. it was quite disturbing and disappointing since i was the one who convinced everyone we should go to one of my ""favorite"" restaurants. we should have suspected something was wrong when upon notifying the staff about the roach the manager never even came to the table to offer an apology or a lame explanation..now it is time to pay the bill and my friend is in the restroom..she overhears discussing our table in an unfavorable fashion..he had the audacity to say we should be grateful we didn't have to pay for our roach infested drink. we all returned our mojitos upon lady d's discovery...so here we are...i am exing bone lick park off of my list of places to eat..you should too...not only because of the roach but to add insult to injury we were told it was a fruit fly at last i checked an insect is an insect...not a delicacy unless you ordered it.. Pros: fried oysters not bad Cons: rude manager bug infested drinks more

Ice Cubes A La Roach 5/1/2010

So of the 11 people in my party I was the one with the roach ice cube. Showed roach to waiter who squeezed it in between his fingers and wiped it on his pants eww. Next my friend was in the bathroom and overheard the MANAGER saying that he wasn't going to give us any discounts. In fact the only discount we recieved was the honor of not paying for the iced roach drinks and an offer for a new one. Finally the math on the check is VERY funny. The night ended with us paying our bill and the waiter exclaiming, It was a fruit fly!!!! LOL IT WAS A ROACH!! Pros: Cool Coca Cola Sign Cons: Roach infected drink/Rude Staff and Manager more

CHEAP WEAK DRINKS AND SO SO BBQ 12/5/2009

If you have never eaten BBQ you might like it at the Bonelick. The sauce isn't that flavorful and the portions are on the small size. Most of the food feels like it was freshly nuked for you. I think they buy the packaged ribs at the D'Agostino's and nuke them up. The red velvet cake is must to avoid. It is so dry and the frosting so sicky sweet. Walk around the corner to the Magnolia Bakery and eat the real thing. Plus the red of the food coloring stained my shirt. The drinks are weak , they are cheap but they are lousy. They need to clear out the folks who stick to the bar like flies. They scare away customers. Pros: nice decor, clean, cheap drinks Cons: weak drinks, horrible red velvet cake, noisy w/heavy drinkers more

Seriously So-So 9/2/2009

Just went there today and was highly underwhelmed. The prices were really high. Portions were not-too-big. The side (okra) was average. The brisket was cooked acceptably, but again, not impressive. The waiter-recommended baby-back ribs were ok. The sauce is decent. Basically, either they should increase the quality of BBQ (difficult) or lower their prices. Also, no-refills on my coke even though I finished it right after I got my food. I'd like to give them a 2.5 star. I'm from Texas though, so maybe I expect too much... Pros: Apparently the Margaritas Cons: Price of BBQ more

Quality for a good price 5/30/2009

Wife and i dined here and had the onion rings, beef ribs with collard greens and pulled pork with mac and cheese. The onion rings were great as was the dipping sauce, the ribs and bbq were good (pork came pre sauced which we hate but it was still good) and the mac and cheese was very good. Only disappointment ws the collard greens which needed more flavor. We also got drinks which were strong and cheep, probably not the best mixed but for the price they had a good kick. The price is the big winner here. It's ribs were better than pricier places like blue smoke and the pulled pork was on par with other places and it is the same price range as texas bbq (and MUCH better). Pros: Good prices, good food, good drink Cons: sides are a bit bland more

Budget stretching Dessert (Red Velvet Cake) and Strong Drinks 11/12/2008

Visited Bone Lick Park the other day... the collard greens were amazing... everything else was so-so (be prepared for a touch of $ sticker shock). I was shocked by how great the Red Velvet Cake was... super-tall, super-moist, not too sweet. The frosting clearly was made with butter and cream cheese and was heavily studded with chopped pecans. The slice was large enough to share (and then some). I ordered the Pecan Pie (which was a bit on the sad side) and ended up eating practically all of my dates' dessert. Will visit again, for the drinks (nice and strong, if you get the ""right"" bartender) and the def. for the Red Velvet Cake... Pros: Red Velvet Cake, Collard Greens, Cool Ambience Cons: Ordinary BBQ, Noisy, Inconsistent Service more

Good brunch but expensive if you're not drinking 10/19/2008

While it took a little while for the waitress to discover we were sitting at one of her tables, the service was decent after that. All 4 of us liked the food, and portions were big. It seemed a touch overpriced, but if any of us had taken advantage of the all-you-can drink bloody mary's, momosa's, etc. it would have been just right! I appreciated th real maple syrup served with the pancakes. Pros: decor, BBQ Cons: service, price more
