On our last trip to Denver we were looking for a taste of India. Everyone recommended that we try Bombay Clay Oven. We met some friends and we all were impressed with the ambiance...

The chicken tikka was wonderful, as were the samosas! The sauces are exactly what I always hope for with Indian food: Very well-balanced flavors, with just the right amount of spice up front, followed by a lovely heat that never overwhelms but it beautifully kept up with every mouthful. Fast & friendly delivery; overall very well worth the price! more

I love the food here. more

the lamb marsala was more tomatoe-y then I've had, but I really liked it. I also liked that the naan came in smaller, more manageable pieces and the delivery time was much quicker then originally suggested more

Good food, slow delivery. Most of the time it's worth the wait, but be prepared for at least 60 to 90 minutes. more

Indian Food at its best. 10/7/2010

I just wanted to share with everyone that i have found the best indian food in denver. This place in cherry creek has the most favourful indian food ever. They have a good spread of buffet for lunch for very fair price. During dinner on friday days there is a guy who plays a classical indian instrument and they have a beautiful patio. I always had a complain with service in indian rest. all the other places that people here have mentioned well been to all and there service is terrible, little india : ( but bombay has very attentive and welcoming people and they know about their food. All in all very friendly place with amazing food. more

When it's bad, it's bad 7/8/2010

When this place is good, it's really good; but when it's bad, oh, dear. I went for the lunch buffet today. The service was inattentive, as usual, but today I got the extra rude bonus of the server picking up the payment folder and actually SNORTING when he saw the tip I left (I left 25%!). He didn't ask if I needed change, didn't say thank you, didn't ask if I needed anything else (I was still eating); no, he just snorted. The worst part, though, is that halfway through my meal I started to feel a little bloated. By the time I got home, it was obvious that I had a mild case of food poisoning. Probably the chicken in lukewarm cream sauce. I'm sticking to Little India from now on. It's predictably good. The dramatic highs and lows of Bombay Clay Oven are more than I can take. Pros: the tandoori chicken smelled great Cons: service, food poisoning more

Non welcoming service and sneaky 18% gratuity added to bill 5/9/2010

Very poor and slow non welcoming service with ""dont care attitude"", probably because they would silently charge you a hefty 18 PERCENT GRATUITY on the Bill and still bring you a slip with an empty TIP Line. I bet most innocent people would give them the TIP without noticing the 18% gratuity charged already in the bill. \r \r PARKING is another big problem there. Never going back. Pros: Not crowded like other good restaurants Cons: expensive, poor service, sneaky 18% gratuity added to bill more

Terrible 1/24/2010

We went here for valentines day last year. I mean to write this then but writing now because yesterday we had really good Indian food as take-out from Little India reminding me of why I actually like Indian food. The Bombay experience was terrible. The food tasted like its been premade days ahead and re-warmed. The raita, so simple, was runny and quite possibly gone bad. When I sent it back the waiter explained that the chef had gone for the day and this is what he had premade. It sucked in every aspect. That was just one dish out of an overall bad experience. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Try Little India instead;) Pros: Atmosphere Cons: Food more

Repeat Customer For sure. 11/7/2009

Went back to my favourite Indian Rest. In the whole world. And guess what it got even better. The food was amazing as always, the tikka masala which i thought coudn't be better than before was actually better this time. my friend never had indian food before so i took him there, nice ambiance specially friday with the live sitar player, very friendly owner and knowledgable staff. I have tired almost all of indian rest. In denver and no one compares to this little gem in cherrry creek. Pros: Great Happy hour, Mummy Food Cons: Nada more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!!! 5/19/2009

If you know how authentic indian food tastes like, then you'd know this place is not the one. it's very expensive in comparison to the portion you get. And the taste?? geeez...this is the worst indian restaurant i've ever tried. HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED. Pros: may be the atmosphere Cons: price, taste, service more

Great place for a date 11/19/2008

I recently took a first date there and she was highly impressed with the food and the atmosphere. But I think the best part was that she had never had indian food before and the waiter spent time with her explaining what everything was and how it was prepared.\r \r She loved the food and the atmosphere and said she wanted to go there with me again on the next date!\r \r Highly recommended for a date! Pros: Great Service! Cons: Sliightly higher price - But worth every penny! more

Great Food & Service - Loved it! 10/14/2008

We loved this place when we visited, the staff was exceptionally friendly and the food was to die for! We sat the special seating and dined until late, it seems like this is the new place for dinner with my husband. I got him to relax and cuddle during dinner.\r \r I would highly recomment it!\r \r Barb & Sam Pros: Everything Cons: Cherry creek parking - more

sub-excellent food from the sub-continent 10/12/2008

We walked over to get take-out (i live very close) and chose Bombay because I just couldn't bring myself to get treated terribly at Cherry Creek Grille again, but that's another story. While the girl who helped us was very nice and informative when we had questions about the menu, the food took sooo looong to come out. We ended up getting drinks and waiting outside on the patio. It was an off time, and we were literally the only people there, so pretty inexcusable. The hostess, the girl who helped us, redeemed the situation by serving us some dips with that really light crispy unleavened bread (I don't know what it's called) common to Indian restaurants. Finally, the food came all packaged up and ready to go, and so did the check. For two people to get takeout and each have one drink it was over $60. Seemed very expensive, especially after getting home. When we got home to eat it, the veggie samosas were neither crispy nor delicious, they had very little flavor, a soggy sad sort of texture, and couldn't possibly stand up to the tamarind or mint sauces they came with. The chicken curry - korma (the most popular dish, i think, in the West) unleashed the right amount of heat, but really had no depth. The rice played a part as well, it was pretty much Uncle Ben's, which is fine if I'm at home and need rice quick, but not when its such a HUGE component to a dish. I was not wowed for the price I paid, and unless I can't drive to India's Pearl (an awesome new restaurant), I won't go back. Pros: attentive service Cons: time, food more

Horrible Delivery Service 9/23/2008

I was visiting from out of town and was looking for some quality Indian food. I ordered a chef's special chicken dish with a side order of Garlic Nan. With delivery service, the total came to a whooping $30 but I was craving it so I went ahead anyway. First thing I saw that was wrong was the portion was tiny when I received the delivery. I then opened up the Nan and found that it was not only extremely small, it was also burnt on most pieces. Their was hardly any chicken in my dish and there wasn't even any red peppers in the mix. The rice wasn't up to par either. Disappointing and a waste of money. Pros: Fast Delivery Cons: EXPENSIVE, Tiny Portions, Burnt Food more

Consistent food quality & service! 2/15/2008

Moving to Denver from Colorado Springs, we really had a tough situation on our hands when we needed to find a new Indian restaurant to visit. We are whole-hearted fans of Mirch Masala off of Academy Boulevard (if you're down there, say hello to Tikka! He is a wonderful guy and will take great care of you!). I have found that Bombay has been a close second to the service and food quality we see at Mirch Masala. \r \r I'm not that comfortable in the little hut-like seating with the cushions (I can never quite get close enough to the table...I'm always spilling food that way!) so I stick with the regular tables. \r \r We always get veggie samosas and Chicken Tikka Masala...always great! During the summer they had classical guitar players sitting in the niche in the dining room, and also sitar players. The patio seating is wonderful when the weather is nice.\r \r Parking is a pain sometimes, but such is Cherry Creek. I would recommend parking at the back of the restaurant (at least it is free if you can get a spot!!). I also never have had to wait for a table here, even for dinner on Friday night! They take reservations, however, so best to play it safe in case it is a busy night.\r \r If you want some solid Indian food and good service, check out Bombay Clay Oven. Pros: Consistent quality of food, good service! Cons: Sometimes it takes 30 minutes to get your food, but it is worth it. more

  • In Short
The decor here includes plush seats and cushioned booths with no shoes required, and live sitar music adds to the ambiance. There's a feeling of the tradition, somehow both...
