Body Tonic

The atmosphere here is really nice, and there is a lot of equipment and different rooms with free weights and classes that I really enjoyed taking. What drew me in was the Pilates class, which was later change (they change every season?), but as I got a job further away from that area, it no longer became convenient and having paid ahead for a whole year, they make it difficult to get your money back. They are a bit on the expensive side, I would recommend trying it out for a month first and see if your willing to commit to going there. They do specialize in a form of zen thing there, witha little water fountain up front and a meditation room. They have good classes and a lot of trainers. However, the trainers rarely contact you, even if you pay for sessions with them, you have to contact them. They promised you get personal training at the beginning, when I sign up, and then said someone will call me, never happen. The personal trainers never contact you, you contact them. They kind of lie abut that. Sometime they offer food, which is nice. And i like the sauna. more

Body Tonic is a very peaceful place to be. It is located on Van Ness and Sutter and it has a very friendly environment, unlike most chain fitness gyms and clubs. They have a suana and showers in their locker rooms and they have a very peaceful setting for their stretch/yoga room. They also offer special dance and aerobic classes. It isn't too crowded here which is perfect and it's very clean. more

This gym is very interestingly designed. The gym appears small on the outside, but is rather huge on the inside. You will find a lot of exercise equipment. There is also a spa! There is a room that is very nature-like. You can drink green tea. There are also various classes. You can take cardio kickboxing and dancing. If you are really tired and had a very stressful day, you can get a massage! more
