I went there for a groupon spa service. I used to drive by the salon on my way home, but never stopped. It's mostly a tanning salon. Sally did such a great job working out my knots. She also did a peppermint foot scrub which was fantastic. I will be back! Thanks Sally more

Shame on me for getting taken by a Groupon from Body and Sol. They advertised a "" Spa package worth $139 for $69 that included ""a 60 minute deep-tissue massage, cooling eye service, a scalp and facial accupressure massage and a peppermint foot scrub."" WOW - sounded great. more

I have had several massages and this by far is one of the best. Salley was great! I would recommend her to anyone who is looking to relax and have an hour of bliss! more

I had purchased a groupon for a 60 minute massage with skinny wrap. I had no idea what the latter was but it was 47$, you can't go wrong. I was little turned off by the outside, but once I entered i was sold! It's a very cute little salon, nicely furnished, and clean that also does tanning and spraytanning. I had my massage with Sally, and she did AMAZING. I suffer chronically from tension headaches, and with that being relayed, she focused on my trouble areas and really had me feeling loose! The skinny wrap was just as impressive, i lost 3 1/2 inches, although its not permanent, I definetely felt relaxed and skinny for a few days! Needless to say I will be rebooking with this place for a LONG time. more

My friends though it would be some interesting stakes in a bet for the loser to get a spray tan. I've tanned for vacations before, but never had to get a spraytan. Im sure they though I was going to come out looking like a oompa loompa but that was not the case. The spray tan actually looked legit like I had just spent a week in mexico. They were slightly dissapointed, but I was not. I think i'll continue to ""cheat"" and get spraytans here more often. It doesn't hurt either that the girl who did it was easy on the eyes. more

I am so happy that I found this place. Its a small salon, in an urban setting but I absolutely adore it. I';ve been going here for about 8 months now and things just keeping getting better. I originally went here to purchase sessions to get ready for my upcoming vacation to mexico. I had only 2 weeks ( i procrastinate) to get the color I wanted to enjoy my vacation. The staff were super helpful, they helped me figure out how long to go for, which bed to use etc. and needless to say i was ready and tan and had a great time. Compared to other large tanning places i've been too, i really enjoy the personality and customer service at this one. more

My first impression was good custermer service went went there. The beds were good. But I am planning on a trip in the south. I went to go tanning and it was 4:30pm. I arrived. They were closed. :( The sign on the door said they would be open until 6pm. They left no note on the door or anything. I needed to go tanning at a place that would be true to their hours. I went to Hopkins tropical Minnesota they were open beds were great customer service great. I wish I bought sessions there instead. more

After looking forward to my hour-long massage all day at work, I was truly disappointed to be turned away upon arriving. No one greeted me when I walked into the lobby (even though there were 3 girls standing behind the counter with only one other customer), and they acted annoyed with me insisting I was 15 minutes late for my appointment. I explained I was right on time ? I was certain it was for 5:30 (not 5:15), and that my Genbook email had confirmed 5:30. They said I would need to bring in the email and acted reluctant to reschedule. After returning home, I pulled up the email, and sure enough, I was right. They did get me back in soon for my massage (which was fantastic), but I?m still left with a bad taste in my mouth from the customer service. more

After a couple bad experiences with dirty or unkempt tanning places, I decided to give this place a try. The inside is super nice, recently remodeled?and clean. The woman working gave me a friendly, thorough tour and wasn't pushy about retail or anything. The Ovation bed was great. I can't wait to go back! more

I scheduled a massage with the new massage therapist Sally, there was a great deal hour massage for ONLY $45! when i drove up to the building i was a little skeptical but once i walked in it was completely professional. friendly, clean, and not intimidating i recomend this salon to everyone! anyone looking for a great massage or any of the other spa services!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

I'm a busy college student on a budget and I'm so happy I found this place! I recently had a massage there and was so impressed. The prices are reasonable and the service was Fabulous! Body and Sol is nestled in a residential neighborhood of St. Louis Park. I was introduced to this diamond in the rough by a friend of mine. Once inside the door you are greeted by smiling faces and great customer service. Booking appointments was easy over the phone, and the girl let me know that scheduling is also available from their website. The massage was wonderful! Sally did a great job working out the knots!!! I definitely recommend this salon! more

The place has new ownership. It is remodeled and clean and has just an over all nice feel to it. The tanning beds are really nice. They also offer affordable massage & spa treaments. The therapist is amazing! I loved my massage. Definently worth checking out! Pros: great prices, nice tanning beds, massage therapy Cons: none! more

I have been tanning at this place on and off for 3 years or so. It was always under construction and kinda dirty, but it was ok in my mind. Always friendly workers. more

If you are looking for tanning that is affordable, friendly, and will give you a great tan then this is the place to go. The price beats everyone around that I checked with. The equipment is new and updated and it is very clean. The new owners really changed this place around. I think the new owners began sometime in the Spring of '08 and have definately changed the place around for the better. It used to be a pit. I don't know what you guys are talking about!! i love tropic! i only started there like 2 weeks ago but the girls that work there are really nice and their always cleaning! so far im happy with the beds and i'm actually starting to get good color! there at least much better then carribean tan theirs freaking cats that run around in there. and they just got new towels which i lovee, and they know what their talking about when it comes to lotion. if you haven't been there recently you need to at least go check it out cause' it's not at all like you describe. more

The first time I ever experienced Tropic Tan, in August of 2007, I would have never gone back except I had already paid. Unfortunately their the most affordable place in the area, and for me, I'm all about affordability. I decided to try it again about two weeks ago with my daughter, and I was pleasantly surprised. Apparently the old owner( who was quite creepy, and seemed to have little skill in owning a business) had sold the company in April? I had the pleasure of meeting the new owner, a nice younger girl who was extremely friendly. After just walking in to the place, I could see big differences. Their were no blaring radios, and the carpet looked impeccably clean! ( which was a nice change!) The service was genuinely friendly, and the place looked much better and maintained. I also had the advantage of being able to converse with the owner while my daughter tanned. She informed me that this summer their going to do alot of updating and remodeling and that she had already ordered a few new beds. With the way things are going so far ( my daughter loves it) I am confident that Tropic Tan has taken a turn for the better. This place went under new management and I thought it was going to get better -but it didnt! The workers are a bit more friendly but the new owner/operator is shady. I renewed a package there a month or so ago and paid by check. The next time I came back they gave me this story about how I had to re-write my check b/c the first one didn't go through. Well, I did re-write the check and when I came home I looked in my bank records and the first check DID get cashed. I went back and demanded my 2nd check back. BEWARE! shady stories from the workers. Do not repay if they ask you! more

Wish I had read these reviews BEFORE I spent my money here. The place looks like it rarely sees a cleaning crew.........there are often 8 or 10 radios blaring - all different stations. More important is the fact that the timers are not accurate - my first two trips I burned in a bed reported to have old bulbs and the next two with new bulbs the timers were 2 minutes off and the bottom bulbs didn't work!!! The kids that work there have no clue how to reach the manager or owner - or worse yet, they have been told not to give out contact information. I have been waiting for 2 days to ask for my money back. more

Holy crapola..........ummm, the beds are disgustingly DIRTY. They look like hampsters are nesting in the acrylics. The place feeels very creepy...I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that they have a 5ft 2way mirror in one of the rooms, and I could see right into the ""storage"" room, which by the way, wasn't locked and anyone could walk right in and watch people undress and tan in the room. W.T.F.!?!??!!! I'm sure that's legal. They have seedy characters hanging out there and the floors have dust bunnies the size of jack rabbits! The carpet is always nasty, sometimes with food in it and they keep the ""warning, NEW BULBS"" signs up on the rooms for months. The place needs new owners and beds that have been manufactured this decade. They have like 24 bulbs in them.......maybe. Plus, they have a stack of enormous ""TROPIC TAN"" electric signs stacked in a heep outside.........as though they've closed alot of them down. Yeeeesh. more
