Bodiscience is a place I am able to focus on me so that I may be a better person. Is this an exaggeration for a Spa? Perhaps, but hear me out. When I walk through the door I am surrounded by warmth and friendliness. The first contact is with a wonderful lady, Dorothy. She always offers a kind and genuine greeting and I am often amazed at how she is able to take a moment to acknowledge me amongst her many responsibilities. From the reception area I am guided to the transition room-and wow, what a fabulous idea. It is a peaceful room with beautiful décor. It invites me to unwind. It bids me to forget, albeit for only a short time, about the worries and concerns of life. From the transition room, I am guided to my treatment room where I have never received a bad treatment. I may prefer some treatments over others but that is simply preference...the staff is always professional and excellent. After the treatment, I am greeted in the transition room by my esthetician and a pleasant cup of tea or water-my choice. We chat for a couple of minutes about any concerns I have or suggestions she might have. Then I am encouraged to remain in the transition room until I am ready to leave. Without fail, while I am sitting there my brain tries to start up again. It tries to think about the outside world, but the treatment always leave me in such a state, that I am able to say no-for just a bit longer-and just be. Just sit, exist, and be grateful for my life. It is a quiet and tranquil time when I realize that I have just been “re-energized” and “re-centered”. It is a moment where I realize, I am not an aunt, a co-worker, a wife or the myriad of other labels I multi-task, but I am simply a person, taking time for me. \r \r I called last minute on Thurs to book a facial for myself and found out that there was only time for an aromatherapy massage. What a perfect opportunity to surpise my husband! Well darned if I wasn't the one who ended up being surprised!\r \r I booked the appointment for my husband and told him he needed to be home on time and told him only at the last minute why - I figured if he refused to go, then I would simply take his place. Well, that was 4 days ago, and he still hasn't stopped talking about what an incredible experience it was!\r \r He came home that night, not only having had the massage, but also having bought an herbal supplement to help him sleep. My husband! He couldn't stop raving about how relaxing the massage was, he fell asleep, how fantastic Courtney was, she was able to tell how exhausted and stressed he was right away and addressed those issues, and how helpful and wonderful Dorothy was, she even gave him a free sample of another supplement to help de-stress and gain clarity. I was beyond thrilled to hear how much he enjoyed his surprise.\r \r That night he had the best night's sleep he's had in at least two years and has slept soundly every night since! But here is the gold-medal moment: the next day when he got home from work, he told me that he told everyone he saw that day about his experience at Bodiscience! The owner and the whole staff is amazingly professional! Francesca was my masseuse, she was extremely attentive. I could feel that she took her job seriously and didn't waste one second during the hour session. It was definitely the best massage I have ever had! I can't wait to go back for a facial and a manicure. The price is a little high for me but it's worth of every penny. It is the place to go to feel pampered and I will definitely go back again. Best gift you can give to yourself or someone you love. The staff is incredibly attentive and genuinely care about your well being. Time and care is taken which amazing. You never feel rushed or unsatisfied! I began getting facials this November and intend to continue them throughout the new year. I recently visited BodiScience as an ""Above & Beyond Spa"" gift certificate recipient. It was a family gift to me so that I would have a day just for ""Me""!! The moment I walked in I knew it was a special place, Dorothy was there to welcome me and get me started on a one of a kind experience that only the ""rich and famous"" could have expected!! I've been to different spas - both in the area and on vacation. Bodiscience is definitely the best around. They make you feel like a queen. For a couple of hours you forget about every day life. I had the Aromatherapy massage today and feel so wonderful. All the stress (believe me -I had alot) just melted from my body. I could have stayed there all day. Splurging on a spa experience at Bodiscience is well worth it. I usually don't spend much on my clothes but when it comes to my hair, face or body I go all out. I enjoyed a few wonderful and relaxing hours at this spa and would recommend that anyone looking to detox or destress come here. My facialist was an expert. I have been going to Bodiscience for over 15 years now. Bodiscience was once a small spa with one massage/facial room and nail room and I loved it as much then as I do now. I would drive from NYC, NJ..and now I fly in from Dallas to spend some much needed time in the tranquility of what is Bodiscience. The treatments are wonderful, and worth every penny. Even with fixed budgets and prices on the rise in the world, you need to remember to treat yourself to some indulgence now and then. I LOVE THIS PLACE! Their name says it all: HOLISTIC day-spa. This a group of professionals who follow a philosophy of wellness, because they truly believe that beauty comes from inner balance, not from a bottle. Services here are called treatments and as a regular client for several years, I can say that the treatments here are extraordinary. A manicure is not just having your nails painted, it is an experience involving all the senses. It's a warm neck pillow, warm water poured over your hands from a pitcher, custom lotion scenting, and an invigorating reflexology massage for the same price you'd pay in a mall shop, but without the chemical smells. The biorhythm facial is outstanding, my skin glows for days afterward, and I know it's more than just the products. The atmosphere is beautiful and soothing to the senses, with no detail overlooked, and all the staff are attuned to your every need throughout your visit. My experience at Bodiscience was the most satisfy and unique one I have had in my life. I wanted to treat myself for a day at the spa, i wasn't really sure on what I wanted done. I called Bodiscience and was greeted by Dorothy who by the way is inviting just by her voice alone, I told her that I wanted a day at the spa could she help me decide which services to do. She immediatelty said you should do the four handed massage, followed by the aromatherapy massage, and then the above and beyond facial and then a pedicure, I said OK sign me up how long will I be there she said show up at 9am and you should be done around 2pm. I was in heaven, I did not want to leave the spa I think I would have stayed there for 2 days straight if I could have. So my expericence at Bodiscience has been amazing, I now am a monthly customer, I really never thought that I would fall asleep in a facial..... who knew!!! Words really can not express how I truly feel about the many experiences I have encountered at Bodiscience I feel like a new person since discovering this truly amazing spa. I recently experienced by first treatments at BodiSience. Word can not describe this amazing experience! Having never been there, I was wamly greeted by Dorothy who brought a smile to my face, initial impressions are, so important. Dorothy escorted me to the transition room,where I sat by a fire in a comfy chair filling out a questionare ,after answering the questions I sat listening to sothing music,and began the process of relaxing! I was than warmly greeted by Dawn and escorted to her room. She reviewed by profile we discussed my needs and the rest is history! Dawn customized facial to .meet my needs.I than had the most amazing aromatherapy body massage! I even fell asleep! My treatments were extrodinary! Iwas again escortted back to the transition room Dawn placed awam neck collar on me and agave me a hot cup of tea. I sat in a vegatative state ,Ileft a new woman! I have been a customer of Bodiscience since 1996 and I have nothing but excellent reviews. I have always been happily and warmly greeted by the entire staff, received the best quality facials, massage, skin and light therapy, manicures and pedicures. The move to the Beverly Cummings Center address was a great accomplishment for Dawn and the rest of the staff. The spa is warm, inviting, CLEAN, and provides an atmosphere of complete relaxation. This staff prides itself on providing a quiet, professional, warm, soothing whole body peaceful experience. I have always had the best of the best at Bodiscience! I am absolutely laughing at the people who had such negative things to say, I feel they're just unhappy people to begin with. This is by far is the best salon you can go to. I know for me, I want to move my bed in. The atmosphere, the aroma, the treatments.....ahhhhhhhhhh.....Dawn and everyone....you're simply the best!!! I went here for an all-day spa experience: facial, full-body massage, manicure and pedicure. The massage really stood out and made my body feel so relaxed. \r I have to say that the place was a little to new-agey for me, but not uncomfortable. \r The woman who did my treatments asked me lots of questions about my routine (exercise, diet, rest, etc) but made me feel as though everything I was doing was wrong. While getting a manicure (my final treatment), she'd asked me a question and I responded, but she thought I was too loud and scolded me for it. Luckily that was towards the end so it didn't ruin the awesome massage...but it left a bad taste in my mouth. Pros: Great massage Cons: condiscending staff more

I have been to many day spas over the years here in Boston, NYC, Vegas and throughout Europe and Asia. And I have to say that my experience at Bodiscience ranks up there in my top 3 favorites. From the moment that Dorothy greets you with a warm smile and a friendly welcome, to one of the knowledgeable, professional and friendly therapists leading you into the ""transition room"", you know that you are in for a real treat, and most importantly, that you will be very well-cared for. I have been to Bodiscience 3x and I highly recommend trying one of their facials. Calling it a facial almost does it an injustice. Aside from the deep facial cleansing, I had such a sense of deep, profound relaxation during my treatment. While it is difficult to put into words, I felt cleansed from the inside out, feeling like I was somehow cleansed on a cellular or energetic level. Sorry if I sound a little too new age-y (I am a yoga person!), but trust me, you will feel transformed by your experience at Bodiscience. I felt lighter and refreshed after my facial and my skin looked amazing! I actually felt like eating an apple afterwards rather than cookies or a candy bar. The skin care regimen is based on your body's biorhythms and your birthdate, so your treatment is customized for you and your skin type. If you are choosing one treatment to try here, I highly recommend the facial because it will benefit your entire body and your sense of well-being, as well as your skin (I have not had a massage at Bodiscience before, and I am sure that they are wonderful; for me, the facial is a good value for the dollar because you get the total body relaxation plus the skin treatment). I have not been to another spa in the Boston area that has the same focus on well-ness and truly holistic health, which I really like. I have been to several high-end spas throughout the country as well as overseas, and none has ever come close to offering the same level of service as Bodiscience. I have been a loyal customer for over 5 years and I just cannot say enough wonderful things about the place. The staff is truly special and unique - educated, dedicated, and kind. They are genuinely interested in the health and well-being of their clients, and every action that they take demonstrates this commitment.
