I am an office supply fiend, so I was thrilled to pass by Bob Slate’s one day. I took the time to go in and was so impressed with what I saw. The store was neatly organized and well-stocked, and they had an abundance of everything I could have wanted. In addition to my favorite, hard to find, fine point ink pens, I found more types of stationary than I could use in a lifetime of letter writing. This remains one of my favorite stores to browse when I’m in the area. more

Outstanding Selection, Fun to Browse 9/2/2005

Bob Slate Stationer is a great shop for office supplies, art supplies, stationary, and an amazing number of pens. They also have a ton of catalogues for printed invitations for weddings and such. There are stairs in the entrance to their North Cambridge location, so don’t try to go with a stroller. more

High Quality Stationary and Great Selection of Pens! :) 8/18/2005

Bob Slate's is the place to go in Harvard Square for luxurious office supplies. If you want regular office supplies, order from W.B. Mason or Staples, but if you want high quality, luxury items, visit Bob Slate's. My husband loves a certain type of pen that they sell only at this place, so when his pens run out, he goes to this store to buy new pens. Would it be cheaper to go to Staples or Office Depot? No doubt. Would he find as high of a quality pen? Probably not. Of course, you will pay for this luxury. But it is nice to know it is there. The stationary is really nice - gift giving quality. Enjoy! more

This is not staples -- much more fun 8/18/2005

This is a rarity -- an independent stationery supply store. They have fun things to browse. Their prices are quite high on things that can be bought at Staples, etc. But they also have certain specialty items that can't be found elsewhere. Helpful staff. Also sell greeting cards, planner accessories, pens and pen refills, all sorts of specialty papers. They do invitations. If you're a paper-n-pen freak, this is a great place to spend an afternoon obsessing. more

Bad store for the indecisive 8/18/2005

This stationary store has everything. I have never seen its equal anywhere. The collection of pens and pencils in the back is so extensive you almost feel like you are in a store for professionals. Up front the selection of different papers and stationary is so great that it seems there is a type of stationary for every occasion. Photo albums are also for sale and the selection in this section ranges from cheap travel albums to the very expensive Italian leather bound albums. Slate's also sells calendars, exquisite wrapping paper and greeting cards. Oh, it's also a good place to browse on any rainy afternoon. more
