Love bluehour! I think it is the prettiest and classiest restaurant. I like that I can sit in the restaurant and have a special meal or hit up the cheap happy hour or eat in the b...

Darn. How Dissappointing. The food is unfortunately highly inconsistant, as if the cooks one night differ significantly in skill or commitment from the next. On top of this, it is...

Great food and atmosphere 9/8/2005

I've been here more than a few times and have never been disappointed. Their food is always great. I agree with the other reviewer - the scallops and bacon dish is always great. The portions are on the small side, but with appetizer and an entrée I'm sufficiently full. One thing I like is that I can have the appetizers made into entree portion. The menu is pretty diverse in terms of types of meat, pasta dishes and a fair amount of choices for vegetarians. Service is polite and formal in the dining room, but more relaxed on the patio and bar. Speaking of the patio, that's a great place to spend the evening with friends. Drinks are good but nothing special. The food can be pricey but the bar menu is affordable and the burgers are awesome. I haven't had brunch there yet, but will definitely give it a try. more

Great food and happening scene in the Pearl 5/13/2005

Portland's Pearl District is a shining example of the re-urbanization trend in leading American cities. Over the past 10 years, this industrial neighborhood has attracted a remarkable diversity of stylish shops, high-end restaurants and loft-style residential buildings. Bluehour was among the earliest outposts of style and good eating in the Pearl, and has retained its position through consistently great food coupled with a high-style modernist atmosphere, and a correspondingly fabulous local crowd. The menu leans Mediterranean, but with a ligh "international" touch. A fresh menu is printed daily, but classics like gnocchi with black truffle and seared scallops with bacon are reliable favorites. A full bar is also available, making Bluehour a welcome stop for a late evening drink. And if you stay out late, a recently-added brunch menu might help take the edge off. more
