Well worth the 10 minute taxi ride from the quarter. Great potatoes, Huevos Rancheros, and migas(scrambled eggs with chilies, tortilllas, and cilantro), to die for. Quick, fri...

This was my third visit - 1st in about a year, and man, something happened. The food was SUPER bland. I had huevos rancheros, and had to use 4x as much salt as usual just to get a...

mr. bluebird makes me wait in line in the hot sun 7/28/2005

The Bluebird is a fun place to go when you start craving breakfast food at noon. Which I do all the time! They are very inexpensive, but watch out for the weekend lines. Every college student in town wakes up late with a hangover and shows up here to eat up some tasty grub. more

is it worth the wait 7/27/2005

there is always a long line outside the bluebird on the weekends. why is that you ask? well, there's not that many tables/seats in there and everybody likes a good breakfast on the weekends with their friends and family. It's mainly college students on the weekends, but during the week, mainly drs. & nurses from the nearby hospitals. Standard breakfast food in a funky atmosphere. Really low prices for quality nosh. Try the banana waflles or the 3 or 3 egg special. grits made the way they're supposed to be made in the South. more

  • The Scene
The weekend produces lines of college students and tattooed patrons snaking down the sidewalk in front of the neon orange, green and blue building. Inside, the plain wooden tables that barely support the upcoming feast. The friendly staff is prompt, sailing through the large room exchanging knowing glances and jokes, lost on all except those who pocket the tips.

    The Food
The sticky menu dishes up many choices. Huevos rancheros are stacked with soft tortillas, creamy beans, veggies and fluffy eggs. The massive burger is just like the ones Dad made on the barbecue, minus the burnt edges. Add a huge, healthy salad and wash it down with freshly squeezed orange juice. Skim over the latest music mag amid the young and unshaven while noshing on the unique stuffed tomatoes, brimming with tuna or chicken salad.
