This was our first visit back to The Blue Ridge Grill in several years. As to why, we are still trying to figure it out. This is one special dining destination, that is charming and unique. It's a Ralph Lauren mountain lodge, with a cozy fireplace, and loaded with pure elegant Southern Charm. The menu is still somewhat rustic-southern-and gourmet, all at once. We split an app. of Iron Skillet Mussels. If you like Mussels, you will love them here. I had to get the Fried Oyster Salad, with a terrific made-in-house Ranch. My companion, ordered the Warm Goat Cheese Salad. We could have made a full course out of the app. and salads, with the wonderful bread. But with the great wine pairings our very nice server suggested, we were ready for the main event. I had the Horseradish Crusted Grouper w/Fennel and a Grapefruit Butter Sauce. I've never had sauce that unique, to drown each bite of Grouper in, terrific.\r
My partner had the best Grilled Wild Scottich Salmon w/Artichoke Relish, we both raved about. It was the best entree, but mine was outstanding also. The Grille is so refined and relaxing, I did not want to even think about ending the night. Oh I forgot about the outstanding Squash Casserole, better than anywhere in the South, and Cucumber-Vidalia Onion Relish, is this home-made or what. Growing up in the South, Sunday Dinners were never like this. And neither was the Warm Bourbon Pecan Pie. Dare I say, I wanted to take a whole pie home. Come here, indulge, relax, and you will return.
