Melinda - the absolute best! 7/1/2009

Melinda has been great! I started seeing her a couple of months ago for mani/pedi's and feel as if I've stumbed upon a total gem. She's very detailed and conscientous with her work and the complete opposite of what you experience in a run-of-the mill chain nail place. When you call Bloomingnails, Michelle, the owner of Bloomingnails answers the call, Michelle is a super friendly woman - I've never actually had a mani/pedi done by Michelle, when I called to schedule an appointment the first time at Bloomingnails, Michelle was bookedy, so I was referred to Melinda, her partner, who also works at Bloomingnails, and what a great experience! I've always flipped-flopped back and forth between doing my own finger/toe nails, and having them done at a fast paced placed where it's difficult to communicate. Since meeting Melinda, I'm hooked, her mani/pedi's are the best I've ever had, and her polite, good-natured demeanor tops it all off. I can't say enough great things about Melinda, other than try her, she's absolutely wonderful! Pros: Evening scheduling, detailed, polite, great lady! Cons: non that I've encountered more

Best in Austin 3/16/2009

I absolutely LOVE Bloomingnails! It's the perfect setting, very relaxing and calm. I get my nails done by Michele and from day one they have looked amazing. I've been going there for about a year now and I can't tell people I love it enough. It's WAY better than going to wait in a studio with lots of people in it and many times it's just Michele and I in the studio. I've developed a real relationship with Michele and I recommend Bloomingnails to anyone I know. Pros: clean, customer sevice, relaxing and calm setting more

A hidden GEM 2/27/2009

This place is a hidden gem. It is located on west lynn near the corner of 5th street. Michele, the owner, is a fantastic manicurist and knows all the latest trends in nail colors. She also does gel nails, which I think are the best. I hate the cheap places because I've had too many friends get infections and the smell is so toxic. Bloomingnails is super clean and smells great. It is easy to get an appointment and Michele even makes appointments by text or email. LOVE THIS PLACE. more

Thank you! 2/5/2009

I just wanted to thank you for the other day. you were awesome and we've been handing your card out. even my husband noticed my nieces hands without being told and said it was the most beautiful more

Best Mani / Pedi in Austin 2/2/2009

I love this studio for several reasons. The decor is light and airy and the design is comfortable. You never feel like you're in one of those strip mall locations that smell horrible. Parking's never an issue either, which is nice. You just feel welcomed, it's clean and it smells good. Okay now for the #1 reason I love it. Michele is awesome! I went to her in December for a pedicure before I left for a beach wedding. Where as the bride's pedicure only lasted in the sand and saltwater for one day, mine lasted through the entire trip and even longer. That's right, 3 weeks and not one chipped toenail! I definitely recommend this gem of a local spot. Pros: Quality of service, Ambiance, Parking, Friendly people more

Stay away or you will end up with a nail fungus 1/26/2009

This salon is not sanitary. I got a nail fungus after getting spa pedicure here. They reuse the same bucket over and over w/o properly washing it out. The quarters are also too cramped to be comfortable when two customers are there at once. Pros: parking, friendly stylists Cons: not sanitary, not on time for appointments, unprofessional more

Great quality and customer service 11/26/2008

Melinda takes pride in the work she does and puts customer service above all else. I have been seeing Melinda for manicures and pedicures for many months now and would recommend to anyone looking for personal service and great looking fingers and toes! Her prices are fair, and it is a pleasant experience to visit her. She does not operate like the usual assembly line salons. She takes her time and makes sure she does it right. Call her today! You won't regret it. Pros: flexibile schedule, friendly service, quality work more

Like to feel good, this is the place 11/26/2008

She gives a great manicure and a fantastic pedicure. I always walk away with ""pretty fingers and toes"", as my 6 year old granddaughter says. She is concerned that her clients enjoy their experience and come away feeling good. I recommend Melinda to everyone, between her pleasant personality and her professionalism, you can't go wrong. more

GREAT pedi's, too! 11/26/2008

Melinda provides awesome value. She loves what she does, and it comes across in the care she takes to please her clients. She has earned a loyal customer base by giving a relaxing, beautiful pedicure for a very fair price, running exceptional special offers, remembering each customer's preferences and needs, and delivering a personal touch that is missing in most salons. If you're looking for a good nail salon Austin, do yourself a favor by calling Melinda. more

Best Manicure in Town 11/26/2008

After trying many other manicures in town, I lucked out and found Melinda. She doesn't just go through the motions; she takes pride in giving you the best of service by shaping your nails and treating your cuticles to give you a well-manicured look that others will notice. She is consistent and dependable as well as pleasant and professional. more

Great, personal nail care service! 7/15/2008

I have been going to Michele for about a year and absolutely love the way she does my nails! Michele has a very cozy salon and while it is located downtown, I still make the drive b/c she does such a great job each and every time. Michele is very accommodating to her clients and flexible on schedule - I can't say enough good things - you'll love the service and quality you'll get with Michele at Bloomingnails! more

WAY better than acrylic! 10/25/2007

I did the whole acrylic thing and almost ruined my nails. Plus, now that I look back on it they look really fake. The gel nails that Michele offers are a far superior product. They feel and look very natural, don't peel or chip, and are somewhat flexible so you don't break nails as often if ever. There are a variety of colors and styles to choose from and the prices are comparable to acrylic nails. How often you go is going to depend on how fast your nails grow. I'd usually go 1-2 times per month. Michele is really great about scheduling and responds quickly to emailing which is good for a working gal like myself. If you are sick of acrylics, definitely give the gel nails and Michele a try! more

Beautiful nails and relaxing atmosphere, all-around wonderful experience!! 5/30/2007

I went in wanting some pampering and I got it! Michelle is wonderful, very warm and inviiting. I have been looking for not just a 'good' place to get my mani/pedi's--but a 'great' place and I believe I have found it! Both my hands and my feet are soft, glowing and polished--and its four days later! I know there are a lot of little nail 'joints' up at the strip malls around town, and I am sure they are okay and cheaper. But I am a big believer in getting what you paid for, and I believe that Michelle gave me my monies worth! Plus, I am newer to Austin and she gave me an AWESOME reccommendation for a facial and some great places to eat and check out here in town! Loved it! Pros: Parking, highly skilled, relaxing atmosphere, great job!! Cons: Not any I can think of! more

the ONLY place be pampered! 4/30/2007

I was referred to Michele by a friend, who has been seeing her for years. She told me that I would love the vibe of Michele's cozy space. Michele was ridiculously understanding of my unpredictable schedule, and accomodated my need for mani/pedi rescue in a jif! Her space is just my ideal... intimate, cozy, professional, friendly. I felt like I was spending the afternoon with a good friend, sipping hot tea (she made mine PERFECTLY), and it was our first meeting! She told me she was having a swing installed on her salon's patio the next day, and how do I wish I could be there all day with her. My tired hands have never looked or felt so good, and my feet? My feet no longer look anything like Fred Flintstone's. Michele is so professional, so real, so intelligent and informed. I only recommend her to my clients, and I can't imagine ever having to go anywhere else. In the few months that I have lived in Austin, I have had some difficulty finding the perfect place to have my natural nails & toes pampered and respected. Bloomingnails is the ideal nail studio, and Michele is the ideal guide on your personal escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The location is hidden, but her directions are exact and simple, and I feel like I have been enlightened to a secret, exclusive retreat, right downtown! Sitting right in the crux of the busy city, Michele puts you at ease at Bloomingnails, and you are instantly at home on the porch with one of your very best friends. I will be seeing Michele regularly (and often!). Bloomingnails holds true to the true essence of spa and beauty services: curteous, professional, intimate, and friendly. You don't have to worry about being rushed out so that the next ""customer"" can come in. No worries that your nail tech is too busy chatting with her friend or on her cell phone to pay attention to you. No worries about how clean the pedicure bath is. Thank you Michele for bringing the beauty back to the nail care industry! more

Great product with beautiful results! 4/12/2007

I have been going to Michele for about three months now, and I have to say, my nails have never looked better or been healthier. The gel that she uses (Bio Sculpture Gel) is amazing! It's flexible, so even when I catch my nails on something, they don't break off, and it has a firm grip on the nail bed, so they don't lift and fall off! It comes in over 100 colors, so you can get the right look for you and not have to worry about polish chipping. It cures almost instantly so you don't have to worry about marking up your nails after you leave from your appointment. I cannot say enough good things about it! You can look up their website to read more about the products by googling ""Bio Sculpture Gel"". I researched Austin and the surrounding areas for manicurists using gel products (because they are so much better for your nails than acrylic) and Michele has the best prices around. Her boutique is comfortable and inviting, and Michele is very experienced and knowledgeable about nail care. She is very good at what she does, and is very efficient. Try her out, you won't regret it!! Pros: Bio Sculpture Gel and GREAT knowledge about her practice Cons: A little difficult to find the first time; but super easy once you know where it is more

Punctual and professional service 9/26/2006

I stay too busy to think about setting aside time for a manicure. Lunch hours are full of errands and let's not talk about after work....Time is money and Michele provides value in both respects. She was prompt and affordable. She provided great service within the time scheduled without rushing or cutting corners. I plan on affording myself the luxury of regular visits to Michele. I can count on punctuality and professionalism. She even offers appointmens prior to work - - one less place to ""have to be"" after work. Thank you, Michele. Pros: Punctual, Service, Affordable more

Goodbye Acrylic, Hello Gel! 8/22/2006

I had been getting acrylic nails for over 6 months now and decided to try out the gel nails. I love how thin and natural looking they are. Plus, they are soooo much better for my nails than what I had been doing before. Michele is great and tells you exactley what she is doing and how to care for your nails (so they last longer). She is very friendly and easy to talk to. I highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a great manicure and/or pedicure in Austin! more

Best Nails! 8/13/2006

Superior Nail Services 8/13/2006

I have known Michele for about 9 years and have followed her wherever she has gone. Yes, I could go to someone closer to home but I wouldn't get the attention and conversation I get with more

Great friendly customer service 8/13/2006

Michelle does a great job with nails, is a great conversationalist, and is always open to comments from customers. She is a people person and is also very professional. You'll like the cool vibe, the location, and the attention to detail. more
