Blocks Hot Bagels & Cafe

Bagels are still pretty goods. I would not bother with buying anything else at Blocks. I bought some garlic bagel chips in the store at Main and McNaughton yesterday. They are so salty that I cannot eat them. Also bought a pastry. Blueberry and cream cheese. When I bite into it I discovered that there was no filling inside. Just empty holes with the thinnest of blueberry coating. Sadly disappointed. This was the second time that I bought something besides bagels at this store. The first time I purchased a chocolate chip cookie. It tasted like crap and was stale. I noticed yesterday that the cookies were wrapped in plastic. I will not be returning any Blocks store. more

Blocks has excellent bagels (real water bagels, not just the bread with a hole you find in many places). My personal favorite items are their matzo ball soup and the whitefish salad. Pros: Delicious food more

THEY TRIED TO CHARGE $19 FOR TWO SANDWICHES!!!\r My fiance and I just went to have a nice lunch at Blocks and were greeted with horrendous service. The bagels are very good but the little old lady that manages the place on Broad St. has the customer service of a Rotweiler. I would suggest going to Sam's NY bagels instead...they must be nicer than that women. We attempted to add a piece of meat to a sandwich and were asked to pay for a whole other bagel sandwhich instead of a buck or so to add a slice of meat. This was not clearly posted or explained to us by their employees. The told us they didn't care if we just left the sandwich there and left...so we did! I've been going to Blocks for years. They always have the best bagels, brreads, and sandwiches. I hear their salads and soups are also good but I've never tried them. They have several cream cheese blends and many Kosher offerings. Pros: Great food Cons: Sandwiches are a bit pricey more
