Kristy Beck, the manager of the Austin, TX store in Tarrytown at 2705 Exposition Blvd was EXTREMELY rude to both me and my husband tonight, September 18th 2009. Our car overheated, and as we waited for it to cool down, my husband went in to use the restroom and to rent a movie afterwards. He waited outside the locked restroom for several minutes in plain view of two employees (Kristy, and a male). They said nothing. He then asked ""is there a key or is someone in there?"" Kristy answered, with an attitude of ""Yeah, there's a key"" and proceeded NOT to get it for him. The other employee got him the key. He used the restroom, and on his way out tossed it on the counter in front of her, as he felt no need to be polite to her, and also no longer felt the need to rent a movie from her. She then said ""You can leave my store now!"" My husband replied ""I am,"" and she said ""And never come back!""
He came out and told me about it. I then went in to get her name and manager's name. I didn't even have to guess who it was that he interacted with because she was talking loudly about it to customers recapping the scenario when I walked in. She informed me of her name (with tons of attitude and a sneer) and told me that she is the manager. She also said said my husband assaulted her and we better not come back or they would call the cops. I asked what she meant. She said ""he threw the keys at me!"" I said ""I am sure he didn't, but besides you were being a "" and then she and the male employee both told me to leave now or they would call the police.
WOW. With all the decent people out of work in this city, she should NOT have a job, and I am absolutely flabbergasted that she does, let alone one as a manager! This experience was absolutely unbelievable. I will NEVER do any kind of business with Blockbuster again, and I urge the few of you who still deal with them to look into Redbox and Netflix.
Yes, I admit I shouldn't have gotten mad and said my last line. I was in shock. I really kind of didn't believe my husband's rendition of her attitude until I saw it for myself. Totally amazing.
Pros: The toilet flushed.
Cons: attitude, mindblowing rudeness
