All I can say is STAY AWAY and spend your money elsewhere. 4/15/2008

BLISS SPA is the worst place that we ever been to. The operators were LOUSY the prices were HIGH and the services SUCKED. Sorry do not WASTE your time in the LOW END spa that is trying to PROJECT a high end image. And by the way, they use low end ingredients in their products and they charge a very high price for them. BLISS WORLD should get out of the spa business and get in the GARBAGE business, they already have the product. All I can say is STAY AWAY and spend your money elsewhere. more

Bliss-full! 7/15/2006

I am so lucky that I live in a city with Bliss. What a great spa day. My company gave me a day of facial, massage, pedicure and manicure at Bliss. I visited the location on 49th Street & Lexington, although they have a few other locations in the city. There's one even in London! I was impressed from the minute I walked in. Great customer service, clean and comfortable lockers and changing spaces. The lounge area where you wait before your services is wonderful. I could have sat there all day! They offer delicious cheeses, olives, cucumbers and little cookies and brownies along with fresh tea or water to nibble while you wait. You won't wait long though! I had a spectacular massage (I've been carrying a ton of tension in my shoulders and know it's gone! Until I go back to work that is! :) Then I had a wonderful facial with Emmie...she took the time to fully explain everything she was doing, gave me suggestions on what I could do differently and even recommended some products to add to my routine (All of which were conveniently waiting for me at the counter when I checked out, although there was no pressure to buy and I decided not to.) The manicure and pedicure was nice, but nothing special or unique, although the technician (Monique) was nice and did a good job, I think next time I'd save my money and spend it on a longer massage or another service. Bliss has a huge menu of spa options and they will tailor it to fit your needs. There prices are high though, and I was only able to go because I was using gift certificates. It is a great 'special event' place or if you just want to do something a little extra special for yourself. As soon as I can afford it, I will definitely be back. more

Bliss Spa 5/19/2006

and overpriced, but what's a gal to do when she often gets certificates to this pampering spot? She'll go of course and enjoy the lounge (which is looking worse for wear) and a snack before her facial. Not the best facials. The massage staff is competent. Manicures and pedicures--stick to your local Korean manicurist they do just as good of a job for one tenth the price. As you leave bliss be prepared you're often assaulted with a huge basket of "suggested items." more

And so it is...Bliss! 4/12/2006

I began to go to Bliss Spa several years back when the prices were quite reasonable. Although, they have risen quite significantly over the years...I still find myself going back. The massages are the best you can get in NYC. Skilled hands and techniques that go strong throughout the duration of the hour you are there. I usually fall in and out of a slumber to awake to glowing skin and a feeling of lightness that lasts the entire night. The facials are great for refreshing your complexion and the overall experience of Bliss will leave you simply in a relaxed state. Nice staff, clean and calm environment. Quite indulgent and you deserve it, don't you? more

Overrated. 3/10/2006

I went to Bliss once in some fit of wanting to be New York City fabulous. And sure the space is nice, and it does make you feel like you are part of this town's elite, but I can get services just as good (and as pleasant) for a better price elsewhere. Additionally, it was clear that they wanted to hustle customers who weren't big ticket, multi service spenders out of there as quickly as possible. Utterly over rated. more

Fancy Gift Certificate 3/9/2006

Bliss Soho is the perfect example of a place that you feel better about going to if you have a gift certificate (it looks so great in its cute blue & white wrapping) than if you paid for it yourself. Note to bosses: this is a great gift - your employee will know you splurged on him/her. I didn't have a bad time at Bliss - I loved my little brownie and had a great conversation with the woman giving me my manicure - but it was nothing extraordinary. All name, no game. I did feel a bit of a product push, but that seems to be how it is across the boards at spas these days. At least now they have a sign outside (the first time I went there, I spent 15 minutes trying to figure out if I wrote the address down correctly). I have not been to the other Bliss spas in the city, so I am not sure how they compare. more

An Okay Spa 1/14/2006

An aunt gave me a gift certificate to Bliss Soho which is the only reason why I ventured to this spa. I had heard bad things about their staff in the past and they their services a bit overpriced to me. However, my time spent at Bliss Soho was pleasant enough. The massage I received was pretty good, though I have received better. And the atmosphere was quite relaxing. Still, I can't give the place a higher rating for I believe the place could be run better and I've been to better spas with better pricing. more

Relaxing atmosphere, wonderful massage 10/31/2005

I have only been to bliss for a 75 minute massage that was a birthday gift, but it was one of the best experiences of my life. The whole atmosphere from check-in to leaving was great - the employees totally make it seem like they are only there to serve you. Everything there is spotless and gorgeous bright white. The massage I had was wonderful - I don't know if I have ever felt so relaxed in my whole life! The 75 minutes passed so quickly. I felt relaxed for the next couple days. Bliss is definitely pricy and this is not an everyday treat, but a great present or something to do for a special occasion. more

Pampering and Skin Care for Men too 8/31/2005

This spa is good for both men and women, and they offer some great treatments especially for men. Beyond the expected massage options, look at the facial and manicure options, which are great to take care of your skin after the summer damage. They won't load you down with floral scents or colored polish, but you will leave feeling very refreshed and healthy, and looking forward to another visit in a month or two. If you really like the associate who works with you, don't forget to request them for your next session more

not as blissful as I expected 8/21/2005

This spa has such a great reputation that I can't understand why. The staff especially the receptionists are surly and have the worst attitude (why work there and pass along the negative vibe to others?). For the amount one is paying for services, better treatment and quality environment should be paramount. The massage I received was sub-par and the facial was even worse - I could've done a better job myself at home and without the pushy sales pitch. Don't even get me started on the relaxation area - it was messy and there were ants and flies around - yuck. I'd recommend going elsewhere more

Not a lot of Bliss 8/21/2005

This place definitely pampers you like a Bergdorf Blonde, which I guess is what you pay for. I got a manicure and pedicure. The results were similar to anything you would get anywhere else. What this place offers is all the amenities and luxuries you need to feel like a Queen--lockers, showers, free champagne, cookies, crackers, olives, lemonade, and jazz playing! But in addition to the high prices, the ladies helping me weren’t all that pleasant and seemed to be in a rush. You also need to book your appointments well in advance. more

bliss spa lives up to its name! 8/18/2005

while staying at the W new york recently, i had the opportunity to visit this spa and just relax into utter bliss. i had a facial which did wonders for me. the technician was superbly competent and friendly. they offer a wide range of treatment options and the products are to die for. the prices are a bit high -- even for new york, but what price can you put on bliss? more

Average services; does not live up to the hype 8/17/2005

The facials are good. The massages are average. I guess it really depends on which technician you get, because I had heard such great things about the services offered here. The Bliss staff were friendly, but they do push you to buy their products. The locker rooms were not very nice; they should be improved. I would not go back, considering how many more salons there are in NY that are better. more

Up-scale spa 8/13/2005

I tried one of the massage services and I had a wonder experience although it's quite pricy. IThe treatment speeds up my matabolic rate and stimulated my circulation. It was $100 for 60minutes. There are also add-on spa services such as back acne mask which clears your pores and it's only $35-40. The service was excellent and everyone was really friendly. more

Bliss Spa 8/11/2005

The people there are extremely friendly and the atmosphere is very nice. The definitely give a good facial but they are very pricey. I really don't like the fact that they try and push items for you to purchase especially since I am paying so much for the facial. If I wanted to be bothered with purchasing items I could easily go to a Sheido store and get a free facial. The message was okay, not the best I have gotten, not the worst either. more

Marvelous! 8/11/2005

I had an extradordinary pedicure today! The honey almond scrub was simply divine! I highly recommend it - a treat for your feet! more

Bliss Does It Again! 8/8/2005

Bliss definitely knows how to pamper you. The lockers, showers, bathroom, waiting room, facial/massage rooms, snacks, free samples... all perfect to really make you feel like a princess while you're there. I don't know if I've ever been anywhere that comes close to that level of VIP treatment. BUT my massage was only pretty good but they kept on trying to push their products, which I never really like. So if atmosphere is really important, go and be happy. When it comes to facials, I'd like a little more results for my money. I treated my mom for mothers day at the 57th street location and we were rushed to the treatment room. As I mentioned before, my massage was just ok but my mom seemed to have gotten a great attendent. more

Blissful treatment but not so blissful bill and salon 8/6/2005

I have to say I believed all the hype surrounding Bliss until I went there. You do need to show up early to enjoy the best part of the salon, the wine and food and the sauna. Otherwise, it's kind of a disappointment after that. Although my facialist was very nice and the treatment seemed fine, she did try to push a lot of the bliss products on me. The facial itself was already pricey and I couldn't afford any of their expensive products. In addition, the salon is kind of a mess in terms of the relaxing area where the food and drinks are kept. I don't know who maintains that area but it seems to be ignored. Last but not least, the hefty bill although not surprising is still pretty lofty. My advice: try Bliss if someone gives you a gift certificate. Otherwise, there are many other good places to try that aren't so expensive. It doesn't live up to all the hype. more

Amazing. 8/5/2005

Everything I've ever done at Bliss is incredible. I had a marvelous wifes pedicure there yesterday, & each of the massage thereapists wife and I've had were all top-notch. I can't recommend it highly enough. Nice and friendly people, nice cozy interior more

Expensive But Blissful 7/29/2005

You can definitely find a cheaper spa, but Bliss has all the little things if you really want to be pampered. Show up early for your appointment--it gives you a chance to use the sauna or steam room and have a glass of wine and some crackers and cheese in the waiting room. Bliss IS all kinds of expensive. But if you can afford it, it's highly recommended. more
