This place is absolutely awesome! I go in here all the time with friends and family and they want to go back frequently. First off, the beer is unbelievably good. Take some time a...

The beer was good, the service was good, the food was so-so. What I found amusing is that as I was leaving I saw a sign which had a a picture of a handgun with a circle and a s...

Blackstone Blah! 9/6/2006

My husband & I went to blackstone recently after having lived in Nashville for 7 years and never having been there...wished we'd kept it that way! Maybe they have good beer, but that's all you might want to go for!!! I had the salmon which smelled so bad I could hardly eat it and my husband had the trout which he had to pour salt on and tear the skin off the bottom. Plus to make it worse the decor looks like a mid 1990's steak house threw up in there! We will not be going back. Pros: maybe the beer? Cons: food, atmosphere more

Relaxed casual outdoor dining. 8/24/2006

Very nice place to chill. Went on last night (Thursday) with a friend, sat outside, had drinks, dinner (Bacon burger - good), dessert (Death by Chocolate - VERY good) and lingered. Nice atmosphere and excellent service: the server gave us prompt attention and we never felt rushed. I'll go back. Pros: Good service, decent food, nice patio. Cons: Nothing major. more

Rude! 4/4/2006

We visited Nashville the last weekend in March and had read a good review of this restaurant, so thought we would give it a try. It was also across the street from our hotel, so it was very convenient. The host/manager and the hostess could not have been ruder. We were looking a menu while we waited for a table, and the hostess litteraly snatched the menu from my friend's hand and threw it on the counter when she came to seat us! The food was mediocre, but the beer was good. The mashed potatoes were good, but the ceaser was too cheesy. Our server Tim V was very friendly, and deserves to work somewhere else! He was too good for this place! more

service was awful 12/4/2005

I went here w/ a group of friends from out of town, and the service was so horrible it was embaressing that i took my friends there!!! The server took our food before we were done eating, and the food was only mediocre.....They need to get some better servers there. The nut brown was good, i give it that! otherwise go somewhere else... Pros: good location, good beer Cons: Horrible service, not that good of food more

ALWAYS GREAT BEER 7/7/2005

Always great food and beer- not always great service. I dined here numerous times and the service sometimes doesnt match up to the quality of the food and beer. Pros: ambiance, beer, beer Cons: service more

Boy, Do I Miss this Place! 7/18/2003

I moved from Nashville to a smaller town a few years back. Last year I took my husband (from San Francisco) to Blackstone for dinner. He went nuts! Their pizzas are so delicious--non-greasy, perfect. Artichoke dip is an 11+. Atmosphere to die for! Blackstone is to weekend hangouts what Davis Kidd is to books. Pros outweight cons 1 million to one. Pros: atmosphere, appetizers, tasty brews Cons: crowded, slow service more

Textbook Brewpub 5/30/2003

Upon entering you have a good view of the entire brewing process thanks to a windowed area. There are also tanks right out in the waiting area for you to see. The atmosphere is very dark and woody, and they have one of the largest collections of beer bottles I have ever seen! Since the place was already pretty busy on a Sunday night, we got a seat in ""the library"", which was actually very cool. You sit in an inset room with couches and coffee tables and eat right there, surrounded by books! I would recommend asking to sit there if you have the chance. Blackstone has about 12 taps, and all are devoted to the house draughts. The server was good but very harried, it looked like he was covering the entire bar area himself. The burgers we ordered were both very good, and the fries were tasty. Pros: Beer selection, Atmosphere Cons: Crowded more

Truely Wonderful 11/15/2002

I've been a Blackstone customer for years. My kids have grown up at the place. They love it. If you feel English, try the Fish and Chips. They are the best on this side of the Atlantic. Their filet is the best cut of meat you will find for the price in Nashville. The brick oven pizzas, the pan seared trout, the artichoke chicken pasta, the ribs... I can go on an on. Don't get me started about the beer. They are all truely world class. My favorite is the St. Charles Porter. You won't find a better porter anywhere in the world!!! Pros: Fantastic Beer, Lots of Parking, Happening place Cons: So many beers, So little time more

I will return. 10/8/2002

Service was prompt but waitress never came back to check on drinks until she delivered the food. The menu has a variety of cuisines and the food is good and servings are generous. The bar and front room are cozy but the main dining area lacks atmosphere. This was my second visit and I will return, there are many more items I want to try. Pros: great variety, reasonably priced, quick service Cons: main dining room more

Build your own pizza.... 9/26/2002

This is a great place to get a personal pizza if you want something a little more ""gourmet"" than Pizza Hut. It is a delicious crust w/ a long list of choices of toppings, brick-oven style. Try the bacon & goat cheese, YUM! YUM! Oh yeah, the beer is good, too! Pros: good location, big dining areas Cons: service not the best more

EVERYONE GO NOW! 9/22/2002

I went last night, with my father, and we had the English Fish and Chips. IT WAS FANTASTIC! I AM GOING BACK SOON! Huge platter of fish. And it was cheap. Just $9.50. Im splitting it with whoever I go because they are TOO generous with the portions. And the service was excellant. He took care of us, so we took care of him with a huge tip! Everyone go! ITS GREAT FOOD! more

Great Place!! 6/26/2002

We hosted a dinner for 40 people at Blackstone and we could not have been happier with the results. The event planner, Sue, was incredibly helpful during the planning stages. When we arrived, everything was set to our specifications. The wait staff was very friendly and ""on top of their game"". The management was also quite attentive to our party and it all made for a comfortable, yet fun, environment. The food was also delicious - no small feat when perparing for 40 diners. We wish we were local - we would have many events at Blackstone! Pros: Great for large parti, Management and staff, atmosphere more
