To Donttrustthem,\r I have been going to Diane for around 25 years and I have nothing but wonderful to say...one thing you said that I firmly agree with is the the tax preparer *smiled smiled* when she spoke with you! I don't know what kind of work you are in but smiling is not only professional but is indicative of a very happy soul! Smiling is a must for longevity in any field. Tax season is brutal for both preparer and client...everyone at sierra tax is and has always been pleasant and professional, enduring very long hours to help us who may not have our stuff together and walk in there to file expecting them to perform miracles with our disastrous bookkeeping methods! I will be a client as long as they will have me! \r Sincerely,\r Kimrae McDonald more

To Donttrustthem \r No tax service controls how a taxpayer's tax refund is handled. The IRS allows Taxpayers to request alternate distribution methods in lieu of the ""Check in the mail"" delivery method.\r The taxpayer makes that request when they submit the ""Return"" for acceptance.\r When 24-hour refunds were an option, they're not now, the Taxpayer requested their refund be tranferred to a bank, authorized by the IRS to receive them.\r The Taxpayer then applied to the Bank for a loan based on the refund claimed. The Bank would then make a lending decision based on information supplied to them by the IRS.\r The information supplied would determine if the taxpayer received a ""Loan"" for the anticipated income tax refund.\r The banks within the program would then be able to make a determination as to whether a taxpayer met the requirements and would issue a check within 24 hours; however it was more often within 72 hours.\r \r So, If a taxpayer requested a loan for their anticipated refund and it was denied, it was based on their information and the bank lending policies.\r The information supplied by the IRS to the banks is based on the taxpayer's information and history. The banks used this information to determine how likely the refund is paid as requested. The refund might in fact be issued as requested even though a request for a loan was denied. However, at the time 24 hour ""Refund Antcipation Loans"" were available, it was likely to take 14 days for the IRS to fund the refund in the event the ""Refund Anticipation Loan"" was denied.\r If the Bank didn't grant a loan, a taxpayer had to wait for the IRS to finish processing the refund. However long that took!\r \r You were told that, if you qualified for a ""RAL"", you could pick up a check when the bank funded the loan and it could be as soon as 24 hours, but at the banks discretion. If the ""RAL"" is denied, a check will be available when the IRS funds the refund request (at that time it was at least 14 days, but at any rate it was at the IRS's discretion).\r Once you applied for an ""RAL"" you had to wait for the system to process your filing (you couldn't change your mind).\r In more than 99.5% of the time, fees due the preparer were paid when you received your check. So there was no incentive to mislead you.\r \r It disturbs me that you misunderstood, but I assure you the documents you signed contain the information reguarding the ""Refund Anticipation Loan"" program.\r \r This was a service we offered to our Clients when it was available. Documation was mandatory and supplied to the bank chosen and the IRS at the time of filing.\r \r The vast majority of the people who took advantage of the ""Refund Anticipation Loan"" program were happy with and understood it. It is no longer available. more

to donttrustthem\r \r Black & Becker STS has been my accounting service for 10 years. I have never had anything but excellent service from them. We have become friends over the years and I can tell you with total confidence that no one in their office would try to deceive you or disregard your requests. I have to believe that you are mistaken in your account of what happened, which seems likely due to the lack of maturity in your complaint. more

well donttrustthem... did you clarify that you wanted over night delivery of your refund? They prob thought you meant your taxes. Plus I nvr heard of getting a tax refund from either state or federal overnight. And if you did then it must have came from their own pocket but then you true refund gets sent to your tax ppl. I use B and B S.T. and they don't do that overnight thing your talking about. They do charge me an arm even tho i have a simple tax form but it's just convenient for them to do it for me plus they are legit. they don't have you sign them off as just the preparer. Other places will screw you over with that. In all, Black & Becker's Sierra Tax is convenient, easy, and fast. They just charge you a bit more than Ii think some other places but they work with you and their legit! Pros: fast convenient nice and legit! Cons: costly more

Lies, they only want your money. 2/1/2009

I asked for overnight, I had all my taxes done, all they had to do was submit electronically. She said ok, and we can also put in your bank account! *smile smile* Wow I told her that would be great! She told me state would arrive around two weeks. Wow I was sure happy. I did have another adult with me, whom we both are sure that we have great hearing. \r I paid my fee and felt confident about it. She didnt do any work, it was already done, I was there 15 min tops. That is pretty easy for them.\r No overnight refund came, I called her and told her it had not arrived and the weekend had passed. ""Oh I said 2 weeks"". I told her she did not. I heard her say overnight. It was what I asked for. ""No I said 2 weeks"". \r It has now been almost three weeks and no refund. I would not trust these people. If they cannot keep a simple word then doing your taxes surely is not what you want them doing. Be smart and safe and go elsewhere where you can trust them. \r Never again will I go there and I will tell everyone I can, not to also. This is not a trust worthy place to take care of your serious business and life taxes with. I have now learned from my mistake, to bad it was the hard way. Pros: fast appointment, several ways to pay for service Cons: not trustworthy at all. Says one thing and means another. BEWARE!! more
