I love coming here for used books. They always have a couple of 'special' bins right outside the front of their stores that offer books for $1.00 to $4.00. I always seem to find something whenever I walk by and they also offer a buy back program of your books where you can get store credit for future purchases. This place has been a mainstay of the sunset district for as long as I remember and I love frequenting the store. more

Great for old books 8/26/2005

This book store has a great combination of old and new books! The front is just for the newest books...and they keep a large selection of local writers. Also plenty of political books. The back has many old books from fiction and non fiction! I have bought, well may 10 books so far! They stay open late, are friendly and I am always happy to help them stay in business! more

Nice selection 8/17/2005

Black Oak Books has a decent selection of used books. Sometimes you might not find what you are looking for, but I always end up finding some other interesting ones to buy. There's a large variety of books, the prices are reasonable, and the staff is friendly. Parking is a bit hard though. more

Average book store 7/20/2005

There was nothing really special about this book store. The decoration and atmosphere of this bookstore was pretty good. They did not have much of a variety in terms of books, but the employee was nice and helpful. Although I was not able to find what I was looking for, the books they carried did hold my interest. more
