So my husband and I had dined at the black angus in federal way and the food there was great so when he was working in bellevue last night, June 22nd, 2009, he told me to come on up and we'd go out to eat since we got one of those coupons for dinner for two. Well, we ordered the sampler platter as an appetizer and as soon as we got home I felt nauseous and an hour later I was throwing up in the bathroom. We went to bed and sometime during the night my husband got up and threw up as well. I'm still feeling a bit nauseous. I wish I had read the reviews before dining there but as I said we had a wonderful experience at the other restaurant in federal way. Oh and I'd like to add that the dining room was pretty empty...I think there might have been 3 or 4 other diners. Pros: food tasted good Cons: we got sick more

Well we'd heard bad things about this place but received a gift card for a wedding gift so we decided to try it out. The parking lot was full but the inside was pretty dead (must've told the employees all to park in the front to make it look popular). The hostess seated us promptly but we didn't see a server for 10 minutes. Poor guy had about all 10 tables so it was no wonder the service was bad. We used a coupon for 2 4-course steak meals for $35, and the only thing we liked was the cheesecake. The sampler appetizer was greasy and lukewarm, the steak was Denny's quality, beer was skunky and glasses dirty. The ambience was rundown and smelled funny, like the nursing home people that seemed to be the only crowd enjoying their meals. I left feeling sorry for the staff and never wanting to return. Pros: Can't think of any Cons: Everything more

I had one of those feelings as we walked toward the restuarant and the paint was peeling worse than our lazy neighbor's house. We went on a Wednesday evening, expecting it to be fairly slow, but the place was so dead there were waitstaff passing time at the bar, which is never a good sign. The food was truly awful. The "fillet" tasted of liver and the burger of cardboard. The side of veggies must have been frozen and the salad was pulled pre-made from a fridge as the carrots had a nice dried-out look to them. The veggie dip came with a thick, white hair and my side order of mushrooms and onions never came at all. On the plus side they gave us a free flatbread with blue cheese appetizer for being first-time customers (actually the best thing we had) and the service was attentive. Also, inexpensive - we had $100 in gift cards and didn't make it through 2/3 of it. Our attentive waiter made 50%. A surreal dining experience. It was a parody of itself. more

I went with my girlfriend because we had a coupon that got us bread; a "wagon wheel appetizer sampler" that contained potato skins, chicken strips, fried zucchini, and shrimp cocktail; plus two salads, two filet mignons, one other side (I had baked potato soup, she had baked potato), and a chocolate cake dessert. All of that for $32!!!! Everything was great, even my steak which I ordered well done and was still tender. This is the kind of place where anyone could afford to eat well at once a week. Keep it up! Value leader. Pros: Great Value, Big Portions, Attentive Service Cons: Rowdy loud bar crowd, Not the swankiest, Cold, dingy bathroom more

I have gone to black angus for years with the family and have always enjoyed it. The bread is yummy and the steaks are OK. Basically just an average restaurant. However, the wait is usually short and they have many fruity drinks in the bar that are great. Deserts are good too, as are burgers. If you are in the area and want to try something different, I would say at least try it once. Its reasonably priced (especially lunch) and worth it. It just might be your thing! more

Really poor steak. Very disappointing. Definitely worth it to spend a few extra dollars and go to Outback. more
