THIS PLACE IS CLOSED!! 10/5/2006

Used to be great when it was on the south-end, the move to winsow only did bad things for its caliber AND reputation. Now its some Pan-Asian fusion place that's supposed to be refreshingly ecclectic for the often culinarily sterile BI. more

Just OK 11/17/2005

I dined at Pleasant Beach Bistro with friends. Overall, we felt that it was a bit overpriced and maybe a bit pretentious. I have to agree with the comments of another reviewer who noted that several menu items were unavailable--this was our experience also and it cause some confusion when we were ordering. more

Disappointing service 6/20/2004

Although the bistro has a lovely patio and a decent (although somewhat overpriced) menu, I found the service to be seriously lacking. During a recent dinner visit, my companion tried to order one dish...and was told it was unavailable. Then, after he had selected something else on the menu, I ordered my dish...and was told that it was ALSO unavailable. It wasn't even 5pm yet! The food that was available was fine -- tasty and fresh, but not enough to justify the price. Note to management: focus on service, and the prices won't seem so bloated. Also: be sure to tell guests what's unavailable...BEFORE THEY ORDER. Pros: Gorgeous patio, Veggie options, Short walk from ferry Cons: , A little overpriced more

Pleasant retreat from downtown... 8/26/2002

Pleasant Beach is not the easiest place to get to. You have trudge all the way through Winslow to get to it. However, once there, it's well worth it. A nice shaded patio, very reasonable prices for wine (especially half-price Tuesdays) and food when compared to what you pay in Seattle for similar fare. The food is best described as North-West meets Middle East. I particularly like the lamb which, being a poorer cut has no business being as tasty and tender as it is. The clams and the grapefruit scented salmon are also very good. Save room for the dark chocolate brownie dessert. Overall, a nice oasis away from the bustle of downtown. Pros: Patio, Good value Cons: Hard to get to more
