Good cuisine for a decent price 4/19/2006

I love the cozy atmospher of Bistro 829 and they have fabulous bread and salads. I had the Filet Mignon and while it was good, it wasn't the best I've had. Both my husbands and my veggies were cooked perfectly. We had great service. I'd recommend Bistro 829 for a quiet casual dinner! more

Great seafood, friendly staff. 8/19/2005

Family owned and operated, Bistro 829 is a great spot for a romantic meal in Katy. The menu offers salads, pastas, entrees, and sandwiches, as well as desserts and a wine list. Many of their items feature seafood, and are very tasty. I recommend trying the Pecan-crusted Salmon or the Steak Salad with sesame-ginger dressing. The lunch menu is good, and lower priced than dinner. However, the dinner menu features steaks, fish and fowl, instead of sandwiches. If you go, ask if Kimberly is available to be your server - excellent service, great food! more

Some of everything 8/11/2005

This restaurant was recommended to us so we tried it this past weekend. The atmosphere was nice and our waiter was really great, very attentive! The food was very good and it was presented well. Didn't care for the garlic bread; it was bland. I thought the drinks were too expensive and there was an extra charge for ice? What's that about? Otherwise, a nice experience! Didn't feel rushed and enjoyed the evening. more

A fine restaurant in Katy 8/6/2005

If you are looking for fine dining in the Katy area, this is your only choice. Just because it is your only choice doesn't mean it is a bad one. We have been here several times. They have a great menu, lots to pick from. The chef uses lots of fresh seafood and has inventive ways of using it. Many of the menu items are named after jazz musicians, and there is a jazz band playing there on the weekends. This is a great place for mother's day lunch, or for a quiet dinner with out the kids. more
