The Worst Service 8/22/2002

Went there for lunch, arrived at 12:00, very early for lunchtime in the city. The menu was great, many different foods to chose from, however upon ordering the waiter told us that two out of the three things we ordered went available, then after 15 minutes the waiter came back and told my other co-worker her item was available, so it was 3 for 3. During the 35 minutes we waited for a lunch, we never received the appetizer that we ordered, that came out with out lunch. The service was the worst though, we never saw waiter, had to beg to get another glass of tea and when the bill came we were given someones bill. All and all a bad experience and I would never go back nor would I recommend it to anyone. more

Bistro St. Tropez offers the illusion of Provence in Philadelphia

Owner Message
  • Bistro St. Tropez offers the illusion of Provence atop the Marketplace Design Center in Philadelphia. Chef/Owner Patrice Rames signatures simple, classic cuisine. Prepared with fresh seasonal ingredients and presented with style. Bistro St. Tropez opened its doors to the public in 1987. Since then, The Bistro has moved to its current location overlooking the river and the art museum area. Along with the beautiful view of the city, patrons of the Bistro are treated to the finest cuisine in the city. Bistro St. Tropez has earned many favorable reviews to include Zagat's Top 40 Restaurants and Top Restaurants in America. Bistro St. Tropez, is a hidden treasure of sorts, tucked away alongside the chi-chi interior design showrooms of the Marketplace Design Center.

Editorial
  • In Short
Navigating the sprawling Design Marketplace Center to find this bistro is no easy task. But when they do arrive, diners are more than ready to relax into the modish Mediterranean-on-the-Schuylkill surroundings. For a main course, try the grilled swordfish and trout fillet medallions with purple potatoes and caraway seed-citrus vinaigrette. Or try the citrus-infused white-bean herb salad and cilantro-Dijon sauce that comes with the pan-seared salmon.
