Bistro

This place should make a choice to be either a take out pizza joint or an eat in restaurant. I'm sure the take out is fine, but the sit down 'dining' was terrible and overpriced. Bruchetta consisted of toasted hoagie rolls with tomato and jarred pesto. The salad was obviously hoagie fixings without the roll (chopped iceberg, sliced onion, some jarred peppers). Chicken parm was unappetizing and overpriced. There are lots of great italian restaurants near west chester, save yourself the trouble and go to them. more

The dining room is very cute and cozy. They offer typical italian fare and great prices. I would much rather eat chicken parm at Bistro then the any local pizza joint in town. Plus there is always plenty of parking. It is not particulary ""fine dining"" but it's a step above the norm. Their take out service is amazing- fast and always done perfect. I am a student at West Chester University and I wanted to take my girlfriend to a decent place for dinner. When we got to ""The Bistro"" the atmosphere was friendly, warm, and welcoming, like any good Italian place should be. I was disappointed when the server (under-dressed in a black t-shirt, jeans, and green Nike sneakers) sat us at a table no less than 3 ft from the swinging kitchen door. We ordered a Caesar salad to start, which I was not pleased with at all. The salad consisted of only iceberg lettuce, croutons, and chincy Caesar dressing... way too plain, and not worth the price at all. On the other hand, the pizza we shared as our entree was great. The ""Chicken Parm Pizza"" was exactly what it should be, chicken parm on a nice thin crust pizza. All in all, our experience there was mediocre and I do not plan on going back there to dine; after all, we are in west chester, and there are tons of places to eat. Pros: Ambiance, Speedy Service, decent prices for Italian food. Cons: Meadiocre food and underdressed servers. more
