Fast delivery, correct order, delicious food! I order from them all the time.

The creme brulee was great, but I should have lead with that. I got the hay pasta with chicken and the chicken was dry - the sauce was way to thick.

Food is almost always good--when they get it right. This last order (and about 70% of all others) was partially incorrect. Ordered a few items plus a caesar salad...forgot the dressing. Because it was delivered around 9p (ordered at 6:45p), it was too late for the driver to do anything about it. Not sure who to blame, but it really sucks when you get your food late, it's wrong (can't eat the salad if you don't have a main ingredient) and you're starving. Not a huge deal if they didn't regularly get delivery orders wrong. Not many options in our area of EaDo, so we keep trying. more

I enjoyed the seafood combo I ordered (HUGE jumbo shrimp), calamari and crab cakes. I also ordered italian sausage and cheese garlic bread (to meet the delivery minimum) as well and wasn't impressed with either, so I wouldn't reorder those items. The sausage was very dry and over priced imo. more

The location is very convenient, which is a shame because the food is only OK, the service is LACKLUSTER, and the management is ABYSMAL. Such a waste. more

Bad food and terrible service 9/11/2011

I have been to Birraporetti's many times because it's one of the few places that's open late. I go to the theater and symphony often and it is pretty convenient. The hours are the best thing about this place. The food is usually below average. The entrees are bland. Appetizers are pretty tasteless. Waiters are ok. But don not sit at the bar. Last time I sat there I got a salad with a bug right on top in plain sight. The waiter tried to convince me that it was parsley. Really? He was pretty rude about it and once he admitted it WAS A BUG he didn't even offer a free meal replacement. I still had to pay for it. If you can avoid this restaurant , you should. Now there are more places open up late I think and the food and service are way better. more

Awful for birthdays 3/17/2010

I really hate giving this place such a low rating, as I have been a frequent patron of it for my birthdays for many years. We dined here and upon making our reservation I told them of my special event. The receptionist never once asked if I had a birthday cake, of which I did and a very small one at that. We had 5 in our party and the server was quite hospitable. We were under the impression that she would sing happy birthday, but the restaurant did nothing (they usually do). The food was good as usual. But the real kicker came when we got the bill. Because of us bringing in this tiny little cake, we were charged a ""cake fee"" of $20.00. Had we been told this fee would be added, we would have left the **** thing at home. When I called the manager, he was quite rude and argumentative and stated that as long as he had been working there, this fee was in effect. He stated that had we fussed in the restaurant, he would have taken it off (my Mom brought it up to the waitress and I believe expressed her distaste but was ignored and told its company policy). The manager did give a compensation for a later date, but the damage was done and Birraporetti's managed to help ruin my birthday. They used to have 3 locations and now only have one. Fraudulent activities like this cake fee and making customers feel at fault for not disclosing they have a birthday cake are probably some of the factors in why the other 2 locations are no more. Pros: Good food, atmosphere Cons: DO NOT BRING CAKES! more

Such a disappointment 3/1/2010

We dined here for Valentine's Day before seeing a show. It was not a good experience. They decided they would not offer wines by the glass for that evening, such a strange thing to do for a special occasion. When everyone at the table likes a different type of wine, what are you supposed to do? We were in the downstairs room, it smelled like mildew. They piped in some kind of 50's rock and roll music. It was very loud and hard to talk over. Not exactly appropriate for Valentines Day. The food was average at best. They had doubled their prices for the evening as well. I understand having a set menu for special days, but this was ridiculous! We will never dine here again. I would like to end on a positive note, since it was not their fault. The waitstaff was very good. They worked very hard. Pros: Service Cons: Everything else more

Too pricy for the food quality 2/24/2010

Great location for before a show, but it is over priced and the food is just awful. I could have made better pasta at home, oh wait, I have. Pros: Great location for before a show Cons: food, price, parking, more

Great Food AWFUL Service 2/14/2010

We had just come from the alley theatre on Valentine's day, and we were famished, so we headed to Birraporettis for dinner where we had reservations. We were an hour early from our reservation time but the hostess was nice enough to seat us right away. Our server was named JAMIE an older bald gentleman w/ a go-t and black rimmed glasses. To start we both ordered Peroni's and asked for an order of calamari. He brought my husband his Peroni (italian beer) but didn't bring me the one I ordered, and preceded to tell me that I shook my head when he asked what I wanted, then asked if we wanted to start w/an appetizer when we already asked for calamari!! We were very insulted. So then we finally get our calamari (20 min later) & he tried 2 explain that the theatre crowd just let out not even thinking that we were or could be part of that crowd and that he was confused by the menu which only had 9 dinners on it, oh and he only had 4 tables!!! After we ate the calamari he cleared off the table including my husband's silverware so we had 2 share silverware 2 eat our salads! In the meantime the tables around us were getting great service their drinks and salads are coming out @ much faster pace. I wanted a 2nd beer which I never got from Jamie so I had 2 go 2 the bar 2 get one, and Iwhen I asked Jamie for a glass and he retrieved a used glass w/ an inch of water in the bottom of it. After we were finished eating we had 2 wait another 20 minutes to get our bill and another 10 minutes to get a to go box. All in all we were there for nearly 2 hours due to Jamie's subpar service. Pros: Authentic Italian Food Cons: Horrible Servers more

One of the best brunch ever 11/20/2009

Me and my guy was searching for a great place to have brunch. I can that we really found it . The food was wonderful and the service was great. The waitstaff was very professional, Pros: Service, food more

good food, good service 7/23/2009

This place was really good. I really liked their chicken parmesan. The service is a little long, but it is worth it for their food, and their location is amazingly appropriate. more

Worst Pre Theatre Experience Ever 2/8/2009

Can say nothing nice about our Friday pre theatre venture to this so called restaurant. Service was very slow, manager very rude. Food was gross. McDonald's has better looking lettuce in their salads. Filet mignon was tough and overcooked. Crab cakes were dry. Drinks were marginal. Restaurant was loud. Will never go back again. Pros: Close to theatre district Cons: Can say nothing good about it more

Worst Brunch! 10/29/2008

I love going out for brunch and have had some fabulous experiences in Houston, BUT this place made me wish I slept in. After I was seated, I starred at the bar where four or five waiters were standing. No one took my drink order! Finally, after some hand waving, I got someone to come over. I tried the frozen Bellini and quickly sent it back. It was weak and tasted artificial like a ""fruit"" slushee from a convenient store. The mimosas were not much better. Very little champagne and not fresh juice. Was the buffet better? No. The food was cold and looked and tasted like the Italian lunches served in my high school cafeteria. There is very little selection for breakfast or Italian dishes. Also, the omelet chefs never seemed to be around. The set it poor and confusing so no more than a couple of tables can serve themselves at one time. I also felt awkward as my plate was not cleared for a good 15 minutes after I place it to the side of the table. The worse thing is that I paid about $40 for this brunch! Cons: poor food and poor service more

Theater Night Institution 7/17/2008

There are certainly other restaurants worthy of our business downtown but Birraporetti's makes dining on a theater night so easy, that this is where we usually end up. Whether you are trying to catch a quick meal before the show and settling down for a relaxing dinner after a show, Birras is consistent. The pizza has always been very good. All the other food is never memorable but it's always good. The staff knows how to take care of customers that are in a hurry. The out dated dining area manages to feel cozy whether there's a full house or just a few late night stragglers. You may even catch the occassional celebrity having dinner after a performance. Pros: good food, fast service, reasonable prices Cons: ou probably don't want to try to park for this if you're not going to a show more
