Jamacian Festival Grouper $17. Large portion of grouper, sides where tasty and unique. Bloody Mary and Mojitos where yummy. The cookie icecream sandwich was awesome and huge. Ate there for lunch on the deck. Lunch was casual with lots if people docking and coming from their boats but not pretentious. more

I've been to Bimini Boatyard many times for drinks and bar snacks, and honestly, never thought much of the appetizers. Fried, salty and unimaginative. I went for lunch one day and was pleasantly surprised by the ahi tuna salad. Took clients there the following night and we enjoyed wonderful dinners and great service. There is a big disconnect between the quality of the appetizers and the dinners. You would think they were prepared by two different chefs at two different restaurants. Don't judge this place by the appetizers -- the entrees are much better, and great value for the price. I love the Jamaican Grouper. Atmosphere is nice especially if you can snag an outdoor table. more

Drinks...\r Happy Hour 4-7 everyday!\r Great food and good servers.\r This should be a stop on your tour d' Beach.\r \r Just a mile or so from the beach, right on the water the terrace and outside bar is a great place to take the out-of-towners that want a taste of real Florida. more

I've been to this restaurant many times. Usually as a guest. New ownership took over a year or so ago and I went after the new ownership took over - still not so great. So last night I get invited by a client and I go expecting the usual mediocre fare. Instead, I was blown away. I had the wings (remarkable), the conch fritters (perfect) and the hogfish special (amazing). The prices have gone up but it is now WORTH IT. A GREAT PLACE!! more

Terrible. The "lump crabcakes" were made with stringy crab and had a fishy flavor with bits of shell. The Seared Tuna Tatake appeared to have been steamed in a luke-warm pan so it had no charred crust. Then the Jamacan Festival Grouper was under cooked with a cold raw center and served over grilled plantains and topped with a cloyingly sweet mango "caramel". The side was a peanut flavored slaw that was oddly Thai in flavor and didn't go well with anything else on the hugely oversized plate. When the bill arrived I was over charged for the tuna so I grabbed a menu from a nearby table to comfirm. I must have left my chair too far from the table because when a waiter passed by he kicked the chair to the side and gave me a dirty look. I brought the overcharged tuna and the chair incident to my server's attention. She took my wacko-grouper entree off the bill and had the other server apologize. Not a good meal or experience, Red Lobster would have been a much better choice. I do not recommend this resturaunt. more

Took our family for my Mom's B'day Brunch. The food and selection was great as was the service!! They've done a beautiful job on the renovation of this establishment. The ambience at our inside table by the window was spectacular and we especially loved the backround sounds of the live steel drum musician only steps away from us. We live in Ft. Laud. yet felt like we were in the Carribean. Only problem, if at all possible you've got to leave room for the dessert offerings because they are to die for. Pros: Wonderful Brunch more

Probably not worth it 4/24/2010

The service was at best indifferent, bordering surly. With so many places to go that offer good food and service why go here? Pros: nice atmosphere Cons: terrible service more

Not great, but ok 4/6/2010

A group of 5 of us went to Bimini Boatyard for lunch on the advice of our hotel concierge. Two people arrived a few minutes before the rest of us. When we told the hostess we were meeting a couple of people who were already there, she said we were welcome to walk around and find them. Since they had arrived just a few minutes before the rest of us, I would have thought she would know where she seated them and would be able to take us to them. Pros: portion size Cons: bad acoustics; lackadaisical service more

We were in town visiting friends. Dropped by for lunch because Bimini is so well place in the center of town and it is close to the beach.\r \r We had a great time and a great meal. Ask for Angel at the bar.\r \r We didn't stay long enough for dinner so came back later that week and had the best Paella in the world. BIG plate of seafood and it was great.\r \r The steaks were great and the prices, cheapest in town?\r The seafood was as great tasting as it was fresh.\r Our server was Tim? Great southern boy! more

I have been to a lot of hotels with my buddy, but they really take care of your two legged friends.\r \r The outside terrace was a great place to strool the afternoon away. Having a couple of tennis balls to chase isn't a bad idea either.\r Captain the Dog more

Pass on this one! 11/3/2009

We visited during the Ft Lauderdale Yacht Show. Great location and nicely themed upscale casual atmosphere. We ordered Grilled Mahi Mahi and a Porterhouse steak, The fish was dry and overcooked and the steak was Pork Tenderloin. Waiter claimed he misunderstood order but had asked how to cook the steak. Second round of beers were served warm and rather than replacing them waiter offered to put them on ice for a while. The manager apologized and replaced the Mahi Mahi with Swordfish and reordered the steak. Pros: Good swordfish Cons: Terrible service. more
