Although Bill Miller is decent food, I don't think it deserves a ""best"" adjective. It can be quite greasy, but, I do agree that it is cheap. You can get really full for a few bucks Pros: Cheap, Filling, Good Service Cons: Greasy, Atmosphere more

Lame, Lame, Lame 2/2/2003

Service was terrible - several mistakes on order that was served. Barbeque was dry, with little taste. Chicken sandwich had not lettuce or tomato and was served on same lousy bread as other barbeque. Reataurant environment poisoned by tobacco smoke. We had to get our food to go. NEVER AGAIN! Cons: smoking still allowed more

This is on just the BM on 410 & Calebra.---I could not wait to move back to SA to have Bill Miller. I am sorry to say the BM closest to me is the worst I have ever seen. Out of 10 visits they have totally screwed my order up. I don't eat beef and they frequently give me beef in place of the ham poorboy I order or no chicken when I order it. I could go on....I am lucky to get what I order. Shame on me for not checking. I drive to a further one to get the right order! more

Back in the 70's Bill Miller had good Bar-B-Q. They have gotten to big and has left the quality behind. Pros: good fried checken, good bread Cons: bad sausage, bad parking, expensive more

Sometimes the food is inconsistent, but if you have 5 bucks in your pocket, why not head on down and grab a poorboy, fries and a large sweet tea. They are easy to find, practically one on every corner. Pros: cheap, convenient Cons: inconsistent more

Travel 45 minutes north to the Salt Lick. The drive is worth it. Ask any one in town the will give you directions and support my views. this is the best bar-b-que. more

Good ole Texas 12/6/2002

Not much in the way of ambience, but the good is good. Whether you drive through or eat in its good. They are also the greatest place to order Thanksgiving dinner (with all the fixings) as well as Christmas. The pies are like my grandmother use to make. Extra lean poorboy is my favorite on the run with cottage fries and ice tea. Delicious!! Pros: Food, Drive through, Friendly people Cons: na, na, na more

On reccomendations from friends, I have repeatedly returned to this restaurant for the fattiest, most inedible, flavorless meat San Antonio has to offer. The sides lack flavor as well. Find a better place to spend your money and time! more

The best tea (iced tea) in Town...and #7 (chicken strips) are better than anyother food chain. Ask for #7...it's usually NOT on the menu. Pros: :-) taste/value ratio Cons: crowded for lunch more

Bill Millers is okay at best. They have really good sweet tea but thats about as far as it goes. If you want something quick and easy go there, but if you want really good food you should head toward Rudys BBQ. more

i love their prices, their chicken strips are great, and the poorboys are their specialty, i don't know how they do it, it might be the BBQ sauce, or the pickles, or the homeyness of it all, (the one at 1604 and potranco is the most welcoming and the one i feel comfortable in) others kindof intimidate me because i've always thought of walking into a nice house for a good BBQ lunch, and thats what i get there. Scrumptious food at such a scrumptious price was a wonderful surprise on a recent vacation to San Antonio,TX! The cafeteria-style service was friendly and hospitable. and the Western motiff that adorned the walls made us feel as though we were in the old West. The resturant was clean and the atmosphere pleasant. We visited several times during our 8-day stay and would reccomend this establishment to anyone! Pros: inexpensive, ample parking, great food more

  • In 1950, with a $500 loan from his father, Bill Miller opened a small poultry and egg business. Three years later Bill Miller Bar-B-Q began as a small fried chicken-to-go restaurant. Today Bill Miller is a family-owned and operated business with 75 locations in the San Antonio, Austin, Corpus Christi, and surrounding areas.

    We take pride in cooking all our barbecued meats in pits smoked with 100% live oak wood.
