Very helpful 3/30/2013

Every time I go in everyone is friendly. Although I don't sepnd a lot each visit $$, they still make me feel like an important customer when I walk through that door. Some bike shops only cater to the rich people who can buy a $13000 bike. I am getting to where I know the staff by name. \r I won't mention the name of the other bike shop because I am not into bad mouthing people by nature. However this other particular bike shop I go to I don't get the same warm feeling when I walk in. The people at that other shop seem like they don't want to be there, or seem as though they have a nail in thier shoe. At the other bike shop the bike mechanics were more helpful and friendly than the actual sales staff. Seems to me the mechanics should be the ones selling the bikes and merchandise. Because Don Johl's goes out of thier way to help me, I have made my decision to purchase a new bike from them. Not only that but I will refer people to them. more

Love my bike and love them!!! 4/16/2011

I decided to return to riding bikes. The last time I rode a bike the bikes had banana seats . Yes! it has been that long. I purchased a bike at another bike store however it needed some adjustments so I hauled it to Don Johle's. Shelly and James were WONDERFUL!!! They were courteous and they got my bike fixed the first time. They did a wonderful job. I am a customer there for life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! more

Great attitude 1/25/2011

I'd been riding my aging, rigid Trek mountain bike on local trails after a long absence on the bike, and I was having a very difficult time navigating one trail in particular. I didn't know much about the area, so I wandered in with my bicycle to the shop closest to my home, which is Richardson Bike Mart. It was a horrible experience. The kid at the service counter said my bike was an antique and that there was nothing that could be done to improve the ride. On my way out, another customer who'd overheard me suggested I try Don Johle's Bike World, because she thought I might find the staff more friendly and helpful.\r \r Wow, she couldn't have been more right. The guy who helped me told me that my bike was on the old side, but thought there was enough clearance in the frame to replace my 26 x 1.85 tires with much wider 2.35 tires. He patiently explained to me that larger volume tires would make up lot for my rigid frame and give me a much better and much smoother ride. He was rig more

I have never been so offended 8/1/2010

I have been to this location twice this month and spoke to 2 of their technicians and was met with a condescending attitude. On my first visit I asked about a rear disc brake conversion and besides him telling me it would be cost prohibitive he said ?I bet it?s a walmart bike?. How pretentious and condescending for an employee to talk to a perspective customer in such a manor. The REASON I asked for information on the brakes is that, YES my Walmart Mongoose needs better brakes for what I use it for? I was never asked. My last visit was saturday right at opening. I just got a new bike straight out of the box and needed air in my tires? I? again I was met with a condescending attitude, ?you put this together yourself?? he then began to tick off the issues? all of which I was aware of. He airs up the rear tire and blew it out?. Then said ?I can fix that for (the cost of a tube) and $15.00 labor.? So I get to pay for his incompetence or I get victimized?. NO THA more

Great Shop with Great Employees 12/29/2008

These guys are great! I took my bike to another local shop for awhile, and was never satisfied with the work. These guys get it right the first time everytime! more

great deal 4/16/2008

I get my bike parts from this place. Their staff is great. They are always friendly and helpful. If they don't have the part I'm looking for they can get it. Their prices are pretty low. more
