We purchased our carpet and mattresses for our new house from Better Bilt on a recommendation. We are so glad we did. We ended up buying carpet, mattresses and furniture. All of which we are thrilled with. After doing research we have found we received top quality at a price others were trying to sell us inferior furniture at. I wish I would have had time to do research before we purchased our home decor. I am more pleased though, that we happened to stop and buy better bilt that day. We simply got lucky finding Better Bilt, they were so nice and they let us look, feel and see what we wanted. The more I learn through consumer magazines and compliments from friends on our decor I appreciate what we purchased all the more. many guests have asked where we found such great pieces and we laugh and tell them how we happened upon that modest store at the north end of Queen Ann. the only problem we had was finding the place. map quest it and don't expect neon lights or 50% banners. the building looks like any other on uteria so keep your eyes the numbers... more

Don't even think about going to Sleep Country or any of those other sleezy places. I bought my mattress at Better Bilt Furniture and I love it. Both the mattress and the price were great. The mattress that you loved at Macy's or wherever you saw it will be so much less expensive through Better Bilt that you will be shocked. They can order pretty much any mattress you want, or you can buy one of the half dozen that they keep in the back of their warehouse for you to try out. They keep a selection of mattresses they think are best. I bought one of those. These guys are hidden away in a warehouse just a block or two off of Nickerson at the base of Queen Anne (relatively near the Fremont bridge). In contrast to the "used car salesman" approach at most mattress stores, they are so low-pressure at Better Bilt that they ignored me completely until I asked for assistance. Once I asked, I got great advice from the most knowledgeble man I had yet encountered. They have great mattresses for fantastic prices. They also have all kinds of furniture, carpeting, etc. The quality and prices are great for everything. They don't advertise at all and most of the people there are designers since they are "in the loop" and know these best places to shop. more

When I went to buy a mattress, I discovered a whole, sleezy world out there. Why do people make fun of used car salesman when mattress salesman are so much worse? Then I found Better Bilt Furniture. A no-frills warehouse hidden at the northern base on Queen Anne (near SPU & Fremont bridge). I bought a fantastically comfortable mattress for about a tenth of the price charged by those sleazy chain stores. When you walk into Better Bilt, expect them to just let you wander. They are so opposed to the hard sell, that they will probably ignore you completely until you ask someone for assistance. It is a refreshing change. They sell all kinds of furniture, upholstery, mattresses, carpeting, etc. more
