We've been with PFAH for a few years now and have been very happy with the service. The vets really do care, and are personable. They'll take whatever time is needed to answer any questions.\r \r Last year one of our dogs suddenly became sick. They had me bring her in immediately and diagnosed the issue. The prognosis was not good...50% chance of survival. They recommended transferring her to emergency care and followed up every day we were there. Unfortunately, she didn't make it. The doctors kept in touch with us, and even made a donation in her name for further research.\r \r I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them, they have been very good to our dogs (and to us).\r \r more

quick to put an animal down 2/11/2011

Making the decision to euthanize a beloved animal is very difficult and painful. On two separate occassions this clinic encouraged us to put down our pets. In one case, they told us there was nothing they could do for our much loved 3 year old persian cat, who developed pneumonia after being stranded outside on a cold and rainy night. At the last minute, my daughter took the cat in her arms and asked to sleep with her one last time. During the night, the cat purred. We took her to VMC the next day and she was cured a week later. Two years later, the cat still sleeps with my daughter. In the second case, PFAH told us to euthanize our golden retriever. Again, we declined and the dog survived her temporary ailment and lived another three happy years. The front desk is typically rude (though a few are nice), the doctors really seem to care for the most part -- but you need to be the best judge of whether your pet is ready to go on to the next world. more

Best all-around care you will ever recieve 4/16/2008

I recently got my first new puppy I'd ever had as an adult on my own. The girl on the phone was very helping in setting my up with an appointment and answering my questions about the breed and crate training. All of the receptionists up front acknowledged me by name and playing with/ loved on my 8 week old lab. The doctor was relaxed and personable, and also very through, not only did she answer all my questions, but she covered things i would not have even thought of trying with training. The prices are reasonable and everyone made me feel that I could call and speak to someone about any trouble or questions I had wheater lage or small. Even the other clients in the lobby seemed happy to be there, along with some of the dogs! \r \r Pros: service, attention to detail more
