Ben's Family Restaurant

Well this is an edit. I recently came to Ben's and it looked as if it were going downhill fast. The food was NOT good. My salmon was cold in the center and burnt on the outside... Obviously the cooks need training on that fish. My brussel sprouts were mushy. The floors were dirty and it wasn't busy at all. There was a guy who I think is the owner sitting on the bench.. Not paying any attention to anything but his phone. He didn't even try to reconcile my complaint. Won't be back again. This use to be one of my favorites when I was in Brandon. more

We had the Eggs Benedict with fried potatoes and the Biscuits & Gravy. Fantastic! Our server, Josh, was an outstanding server. more

We decided to visit this restaurant for the first time. We ordered two sandwiches, and two drinks. The total bill was $19.75. The french fries were not cooked properly and we mentioned it to the staff who responded with a very strong disinterest in attempting to correct the problem. The staff was not friendly, cooperative or caring. In conclusion, I left a penny tip because the service was not worth two cents. We will not be returning or encouraging anyone to visit this restaurant. more

Ben's has been a family favorite for years. This relaxing restaurant offers great food with reasonable prices. The service is prompt, friendly, and not overbearing.\r \r They offer senior and military discounts and ""kids"" (under 10, I think) eat for free on Tuesday nights (as of 24 Aug 10).\r \r Breakfast is served all day! The skillets are terrific as the House skillet is my favorite!\r \r Enjoy!!! more

Ben's is our absolute favorite restaurant in Brandon. The food always taste great and the portions are plentiful. I always get the Turkey and Dressing...what a treat all year long. The breakfasts are fabulous also. I have not had anything there that was not good. The staff are always very nice and friendly. The prices are also very good. I took my Mom there the day after she came home from the hospital and she still talks about how much better she felt after having a good meal at Ben's. So I guess food is good for the soul also. Come over to the states to see freinds every year and going to Bens a few times is a must. Having gone through most of the menu have never had need to complain.\r great food, freindly service, what more do you want. Pros: freindly more

Well, I was going to eat there tonight, and possibly still will, however, it is going to take place later than I wanted to. If you try looking up info on the restaurant, you will not find very much on it, accept some excellent reviews, so that is wonderful. I wanted to see the menu however, and I can't find it on the web, so I called to get a copy faxed to me, but they don't even have a fax machine. Frankly, every business (especially a successful one) should have some means to share their product outside of their building. I am pretty disappointed that I couldn't even get a menu faxed. I hope other businesses will take note. I worked in restaurants for 13 years doing everything. I love restaurants, and hopefully may have my own little place one day, but I know for a fact that I will advertise my product in every way I possibly can, so the world will know what I have to offer. Pros: I haven't tried anything yet, but it gets marvelous reviews. Cons: Have access to share your menu's outside of having to go in the restaurant. more

Our Mom just passed away in March 2007 and she loved Ben's. Her favorite was the Southern Fried Chicken. We continue to go there on Sundays for dinner. We (Tom, Red and Margie) feel like we are ""Family"". The food is always great. Manny Jr. and the staff treat us like family. We occasionally have breakfast there and it is just as good too. We have become friends with some of the other regulars too. They always have room for large parties. The menu has many choices. Something for everyone. From spaghetti to steak. Can't beat the prices.\r Try it you will like it. more

I have been working at Ben's for over 16 years and it has always been a great place for service and food.It still is a great place.I am the kitchen manager and cook there and the quality of food is unbelievably great.We as cooks take pride in the food we prepare and the speed in which we prepare it.I work the breakfast shift and i personally make sure all the food is prepared with the upmost quality and preciseness. We have regular customers that come in everyday and expect the food to be the same quality and quantity.Our service is as good if not better since our new owners have taken over. We don't always have time to go out to breakfast but our choice is Ben's. The food is really great, healthier than Cracker Barrell. The prices are right, the service has always been prompt. Parking fills up the in front but there is plenty in the back for a restaurant this size. I tell everyone I know about Ben's. Pros: inexpensive more
