I LOVE Dr. Day!! I've been going to him at Belle Meade Dermatology for many years now, for various issues, and visited today for the first time in a long time and it was like seeing an old friend. He quickly took care of my problem and there was absolutely no pain involved even though the area needed to be numbed first. I've never had to pay anything when I've visited, they always bill my insurance first. I've always had great customer service from all of the staff, and I trust Dr. Day 100% with my care and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a Dermatologist! more

Great doctor!!! He took some skin tags off me and treated me for adult acne. My acne has cleared and I see him every 6 months for a check up. One thing I can count on is if I have a problem all I have to do is call. My daughter cut her leg and I called him on a Saturday and he met me at his office and stitched her leg, gave me a script for antibiotics and some antibiotic ointment \r \r Need a dermatologist make an appointment with Dr. Pardue and you will be well taken care of...\r more

I have been to Dr. Pardue for skin cancers and shingles. He is an excellent doctor he diagnosed me with shingles immediately and gave me medication that helped to stop the shingles getting worse. Highly recommend. Very caring and considerate of my feelings.... more

I cannot speak for the doctors here but I see Abby James, a nurse practitioner, at Belle Meade Dermatology. She is very sweet and takes her time and listens to what I have to say. She makes sure to ask questions about my progress and goes over everything with me before I leave. Maybe some of you should try Abby? \r Since I turned 21, I've had issues with cystic acne and as a result, some scarring. I've gone to 5-6 different dermatologist (not kidding!) who never fail, would prescribe creams that never worked despite my protests. Fast forward almost 7 years later and someone finally recommended Abby James, who listened to what I had to say, and prescribed an oral medication. I've also taken my nephew to her, who suffers from moderate to severe acne vulgaris. Abby had prescribed him tetracycline when he started having outbreaks (@ age 12), and had been monitoring his condition for a few years, but the acne never cleared. The next step up, as I understand it, is Accutane, which she eventually prescribed for him, but only as a last resort since nothing he'd tried over the last 2 years seemed to work. Also most are hesitant to prescribe Accutane since it can have some serious side effects. \r As far as Belle Meade Dermatology goes, yes, you have to pay for the appointment up front. I don't currently know of/visit any healthcare offices where this isn't standard procedure. That's not to say there aren't some around, I just don't know of any. Sometimes I'm in the waiting room for a while at Belle Mead Derma., but I'll wait for good knowledgeable service. Plus, I don't know about anyone else, but there is no where that I really want to be that can't wait. more

Outstanding Dermatologist. If he wasn't already married... I would marry him. He has taken several cancers off of me and I have always had excellent care, He takes the time to explain the procedure in layman terms where I can understand what he is talking about. The last cancer he took off me was on my leg and I was having a problem. I called him at 9:00 pm on a Friday night and he drove across town and made a house call just to look at my leg and doctor it. Not many Doctors make house calls. Thank you Dr. Pardue for all of your kindness and care over the years. Highly Recommended!!!! more

There is not a doubt in my mind that the positive reviews about Dr. Pardue were entered by someone in the practice or by Pardue himself.\r \r For the worst medical experience thus far, I thank Belle Meade Dermatology. I clearly wrote on the form that I was planning to become pregnant and the dr prescribed me something that says not to use it while pregnant or planning to become pregnant. He probably would have connected the dots had he stayed in the room for more than 3 seconds. He had already written the prescription before walking in the door... Without even looking at me. I also really disliked that they made me pay my copay before I saw the doctor. I was ready to walk out after waiting for 1 hour past my appointment. I'm sure their awful customer service is the reason they have to charge you before you are actually seen.. Otherwise, no one would pay because everyone would walk out. Such a sad waste of money for 3 seconds with the worst dermatologist ever (Dr. Pardue) and a prescription that is absolutely useless to me. more

Ripoff! I went here because I had a painful spot on the bottom of my foot and wanted to see if there was anything I could do about it. I was there for the 1st appt time of the day. The doors opened late and I waited for 25 minutes. Dr. Pardue came in for 3 minutes to tell me it was a callous and there wasn't really anything to do except scrape it down (like they do when you get a pedicure). He at least did that. The charge was $130. When I called to see why it was so expensive, they said because I was a new patient even though I had been there twice before, but it had been awhile. So basically they have a formula of how they charge. They don't look at you as a person and charge for what they actually did. However, I do like that you don't have to have a referral if you have PPO and they get you in quickly. more

Inexperienced, Unprofessional, Rude, Arrogant Dermatologist! 7/28/2011

I went to Belle Meade Dermatology to have my ear loop piercing restitched. The hole to my ear piercing was ripped enough to send a small earring loop thru it. I was always to scared to wear diamonds, cause I felt I might loose them. Although my ear piercing wasn't completely ripped I wanted the hole fixed, so I decided to let Dr. Chris Purdue restitch my ear. This was a simple procedure slit the ear and restich the hole. I mentioned to Dr. Purdue that my right ear was stitched so tight that it was pointed, he said don't worry it will loosing up in a couple of weeks. I returned two weeks had the stitches removed and my ears repierced which was done by one of the nurses. My piercing was little off, and a year later my earring fell out!!! The same ear that was stitched so tight it was pointed never shapened normal split in half!!! I went to visit Dr. Purdue to let him see his poor work after one year later. Instead of him being apologetic he was so rude, he said I can't help you, you have to see a plastic surgeon for this and then charged me a $130 office visit!!!! I would hate to see his work if it was something major!!! I dont recommend Belle Meade dermatology to no one!!! Do your homework!! As you can see there are more thane one complaint about this dermatologist!!! more

One Caring Doctor! 4/9/2011

seen dr day yesterday for the first time. both he and the staff very pleasant - but didnt go there to make friends - had a small procedure done - had some bleeding and this morning it was still bleeding. called the contact num figuring that this being saturday i'd get a msg to go to the emergency room or make an appointment for next week - instead dr day met me at his office within the hour and got me fixed up. if i wasnt a man would probably want to have him give me a breast augmentation - (though wife says it should be a breast reduction) - either way - an extremely caring physican who takes cares a great deal for his patients. they dont get any better more

Unnecessary procedures and labs, scarring, high bills 3/22/2011

I was misdiagnosed and overtreated for the simple mole I had and was left with scars after I was reassured twice there would be no scarring. It would have been less noticeable to leave it alone but then they wouldn't be able to send me the $600 bill. For a common rash condition, I was given unnecessary cortisone injections which are known to have no effect on the common condition I have. Not to mention, they are toxic. A follow up with a different dermatologist brought honesty in telling me there is no treatment. Belle Meade went ahead and did unnecessary cortisone injections, labs and treatments leaving me with scars and a large and unexpected bill. The person treating me was barely 20 years old, obviously inexperienced, and I would not recommend this clinic. more

Punctual, Professional Dermatologist 1/25/2011

Wow! A doctor where an appointment time means just that, time to be seen, not left waiting.\r \r I've been treated by Dr. Day twice over the past two years for skin cancer. He is very reassuring by explaining the treatment in detail with a calming manner that exudes confidence and professionalism.\r \r Highly Recommended! more

Former ER doctor.... 1/23/2011

My husband has been going to Dr. Pardue for a year or so now. He complains that he is not taken very seriously, and that he walks out of there with a prescription plus several ""frozen"" areas on his head and face each time. He also states he hasn't seen Dr. Pardue in several visits, it has always been his physician assistant. That is a licensed medical person, but you shouldn't have to pay the same office visit rate for a lesser trained person. I happen to know that Dr. Pardue used to work in the local emergency rooms as an ER doctor, then quit to open Belle Meade Dermatology. I don't know how much dermatology training he has actually had. My husband is going to go to another dermatologist this year. Be warned, just because the name says ""Belle Meade"" doesn't mean you get that type care. more

DO NOT GO THERE 10/27/2010

I went there for a condition that developed on my hands. I saw Dr. Pardue for no more than 2 minutes.\r He prescribed me a corticosteroid, said come back in a month and left. We all know that steroids don't cure anything, they just remove some symptoms.\r He did not say anything about this being contagious or not, what should I expect, how to protect people around me if needed.\r He did not ask are other parts of the body affected (in fact my feet were).\r One of the nurses was useless, the second one gave me a steroid shot so I guess she was the better one.\r $100 out of the window.\r If they try to set you an appointment with him say NO or take a picture of him if you want to see him longer and ask questions. The picture will give you the same answers you'll get from him- NONE.\r You've being warned. Just look at his revues here. Either one star or if you look at the language of the positive revues they have being written by his nurses or family- nothing specific just glowing praises.\r The good part is that he is just a dermatologist, not somebody dealing with real health conditions. It would be scary then. more

Terrible Doctor 8/26/2010

Dr. Pardue is terrible. I went in to have my hands examined and hopefully get some good medicine to heal whatever was wrong with them. He only glanced at my hands and immediately diagnosed it. He did not answer any of my questions and would not, in my opinion, actually examine my hands. So I'd never go back to this guy. Waste of a 50 dollar copay. In fact, I may write them a letter demanding my 50 dollars back. \r \r He's just another one of those doctor's who wants to visit as many people as possible and prescribe something as quickly as possible. He even wants you to come back for other skin treaments and things you don't ask about and you aren't there for. He just wants money. more

Calm and reasurring Doctor 7/29/2010

I was a little scared and he was so calm and explained everything. The skin cancer was removed with minimal discomfort. Great experience. Pros: Explains well, very nice Cons: Wait was a little long more

terrible experience; left with scarring 7/8/2010

I'm 50+ and had two small 'sun spots' or 'age spots' on my face. I wanted them checked out by a dermatologist since I have a family history of melanoma. Then I was going to ask if something like Retin-a would help fade them. \r Dr Chris Pardue looked at my face and without saying another word, directed his assistant to freeze them off. She proceeded to freeze the spots and FIVE other places on my face before I even had time to respond. Seriously, after the sixth one, I said ""Stop! wait a minute! how is this going to look tomorrow when I go back to work?"" To which Dr Pardue said, ""Oh, they'll be scabbed and oozing for several days and then disappear."" \r 1)he never asked me if it was a convenient time for me to have scabs all over my face!!!!\r 2) he belittled me for questioning him\r 3) he left without ever giving me any aftercare instructions!!! (could I wash my face? could I use makeup to cover the scabs???---I finally just asked the receptionist at the desk as I left, almost in tears.)\r The following day, the scabs were dime-sized, oozing and didn't heal for 2 weeks. Even now months later, I still have large, light -brown patches where each removal was---and the sun spots are STILL THERE! I've been extremely cautious about using sunscreen so the spots don't get worse. I wouldn't dream of returning to his office. He was terribly, terribly arrogant and unprofessional.I just hope this review may help someone else avoid his office. I know when I booked the appt, I was thinking, ""well-Belle Meade Dermatology----it's GOT to be a decent place!"" WRONG.\r Lastly, I'd assumed when I mentioned my family history of melanoma that he would do a 'body check' to see if I had any suspicious places---but nope----just zapped the heck out of my face, charged me a couple hundred bucks, and left. He should\r Cons: unprofessional; left with scars more
