The Bellemeade Plantation is a great place to go, ONCE. It is one of those "been there, done that" type of places. They do have a Halloween "trick or treat" thing in October, wher...

I had my wedding and reception at this venue and could not have asked for this site to have been any more amazing. I was married in September in the outdoor space (Boxwood Gardens) and had my reception in the carriage house. The caterers were wonderful and wowed our guests at the reception. My day was stress free that we all enjoyed it immensely. I would recommend the Belle Meade Plantation to anyone. They sure did give me my fairy tale dream wedding. more

I Love this place !!! 12/12/2011

My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Nashville and went on the tour of this fabulous piece of American history. We could of spent the entire day looking around this place. The people we so nice and friendly and I got the best history lesson then I ever had in school. We can't wait to return to Nashville and see this place again. I spent a lot of money in the lovely gift shop and we ate lunch at their restaraunt there. The food was so good!!! If you are ever in this area please tour through this fantastic place, you will have a great time. more

Wonderful Southern Gem 3/22/2011

We first visited this wonderful location for a wedding reception a couple of years ago, after my husband got transferred to Nashville. I couldn't believe we had driven past this on Harding Road many times without knowing it existed. Since then, I have been on tours of the beautiful mansion, including around Christmas last year. Christmas is the best time to visit, as the costumes and decorations are adorable. If you love Steeplechase and horses like we do, you will love the fabulous history of the Plantation and it's significance in the history of horse racing. The gift shop is well stocked and has books, plenty of selections for children, and something unique if you are shopping for the person who has everything. more

Halloween ghost tour 11/24/2005

We visited the haunted ghost tour t the Belle Meade plantation. Stories of scary tales that were deemed true were told in a scary atmosphere. Hot chocolate and candy for kids were offered after the tour. Not very scary for kids, but puts you in the mood for the holiday! PROS: Puts you in the holiday mood, great for families CONS: not scary, worth going to once more

A must do. 11/10/2005

This is one of those things that if you are in the area then you have to do this at least once. It is great to 'go back' and see how people lived then. I really like that everything is done in period style. The house is huge and is an antebellum masterpiece. It is set in such a beautiful place with rolling hills. Everyone there is very friendly and helpful and eager to answer your questions. They also have a cute little gift shop. more

At least give it a look once 9/7/2005

A great historical tour. People are dressed in period clothing. Several tours are offered daily at reasonable prices. The restaurant is a little pricey and personally we did not care for it. My kids got a little bored but they are young (3 and 5). It was a nice tour and an experience I am glad we did but it would have to be a very looooong time before I visit again. more

Tourist attraction 7/28/2005

Belle Meade Plantation is a great place to go for an afternoon or take visiting families. You will feel like you have turned back the clock and gone back in time to the Old South. The plantation is beautiful and they give wonderful tours that are very educational. You can also buy great gifts in the gift shop. more

WOW...Wonderful, Fantastic, What A DAY 11/24/2002

This was simply one of the most enjoyable experiences of our trip to Nashville. The house and grounds are both historic and beautiful. The tour guide, John, was informative, witty and a lot of fun. The house itself was decked out for Christmas and could not have been more interesting and beautiful. Anyone interested in history, needs to take a couple of hours and enjoy this treasure. Simply Amazing! Pros: great tour, great attraction, fun more

Superb Experience! 8/6/2002

I was quite impressed at the variety of things to see at Belle Meade Plantation. It is not just a house museum but an entire plantation experience where you get to see how the family started out, original buildings that survived the civil war and they even had a special event going on when we were there. The promotional material said that they have ongoing events throughout the year so my family is planning to return in the Fall for Fall Fest. We spent an entire afternoon here - what a treat! more

Belle Meade: A true Southern Belle 7/24/2002

Truly a great historical site with lots of charm and character. The guides are informative, helpful, and make the tour a delight with their witty humor and entertaining stories. If you are looking for something different, then Belle Meade Plantation is the best of the Tennessee Plantations. They also have a great gift shop and restaurant. more
